I have one. She is 30 lbs. - slim but very muscular. She has a beautiful short haired tannish-white (taupe) coat, and amazing yellow jewel like eyes like a weimaraner. Little folded ears and a big smile, like a pit. She is extremely active, she can run and jump like a deer, very athletic. She is smart, sweet, affectionate, and extremely friendly with both people and dogs. But, watch out squirrels, cats, etc. she will hunt them down but I have never witnessed her hurting them, it's more about the chase. Awesome dog.

Yes, they can. The key is to introduce them slowly. Put both dogs on a leash and make sure you have complete control before they see each other. As soon as they see each other they will become very excited, and they will want to pull you to get to the other dog, in most cases. Let the dogs smell each other while keeping the leash taut and staying in control. If there are no signs of the dogs fighting you can let them start being more active with one another, but you still need to keep a hold of their leashes. If the dogs stick their butts in the air, this is a sign of wanting to play, not fight. Playing can sounds vicious, so you are forewarned. For the first time the dogs play, keep the leashes attached to their collars just in case of an emergency. This allows you to be able to grab a hold of your dog easily to break up a fight. Also, spraying water out of a hose onto a dog fight can help to stop it.

Females tend to be in the 50-60 pound range while males are in the 60-70 pound range. Our 9 year old male is 78, our 2 year old female is 57 and our one year old weim mix is 50. Weims are big dogs that need a lot of exercise and need to be a part of the family.

* I think the above answer is a little low. I think females can range from 50-70 and males can range from 60-85 or so. I've heard a lot of people talking lately about 100-lb. Weims, and I think that they are either fat or poorly bred. My female is a lean 65lbs.

We Adopted “Zeus” aka:Moose from [North Texas Weimaraner Rescue] when he was 18 months old in 1998.

Zeus lived Incredible long life & probably would have lived even longer, but due to him getting 100’s of these non cancerous cysts between the size of a marble to Grapefruit size! the largest one Larger than a Grapefruit had pushed into Nerves that paralyzed him from use of his rear legs. The Vet suggested & we agreed that his age of SEVENTEEN YEARS & EIGHT MONTHS OLD, [17.8 years old] Zeus had lived a Wonderful Life. So he was put to sleep. At the this time I believe Zeus was the oldest living of his breed! We have had 2 more Weimaraner Dogs, the 2nd “Bleu” & our current only 8 months old “ZEN” ☯️

Weimaraners are very good family dogs! They are loyal, handsome dogs with a great personality! They will never turn on you or disobey you if they are properly trained. I think they're one of the best big dogs!they'll always love their owners but not as much as a goo game of fetch or a good long walk down the street!
