Around 1 million people visit the Dead Sea every year. It is a popular tourist destination known for its unique qualities and health benefits.
Some of the biggest archaeological discoveries of the last decade include the discovery of Homo naledi fossils in South Africa, the uncovering of a new species of human called Homo luzonensis in the Philippines, the finding of the lost city of the Monkey God in Honduras, the excavation of a massive tomb in Greece believed to belong to Alexander the Great's father, and the uncovering of well-preserved mummies and artifacts in Egypt's Saqqara Necropolis.
Eventually if heated long enough (and hot enough) all the water would either eat the world or MELT (turning into steam), leaving behind nothing but solid salt behind. This is one way that you can remove salt from sea water in fact.
~1/2 pound
First, note that 1 gram was originally defined to be the weight of one milliliter of ice water, so it is a good approximation of water weight (and mass).
Second we need milliliters of water in a cup:
There are 8 fluid ounces in a cup (that's *fluid* ounces, a measure of volume, not ounces, a measure of weight)
1 US fluid ounces = 29.5735296 milliliters x 8 fl. oz / cup= 236.588237 milliliters in a cup
By the above approximation, 1 cup, therefore, weighs 236.6 grams
236.6 grams = 0.521613712 pounds which equals approximately 1/2 pound.
The Dead Sea is called the Dead Sea because no living creature can live in it (other than
humans)
It is also so named because there is no water that flows out of it...

The Red Sea and the Dead Sea are two separate bodies of water.
The Red Sea separates Africa from Asia. It is a large inlet of the Indian ocean.
The Dead Sea is a large saltwater lake bordering Israel, Jordan and the West Bank. It is made after the river Jordan flows from the Sea of Gallilae down the river and lands there. It gets it's name The Dead Sea because it is so salty nothing can live in it.
The dead sea is getting more salty. Like all seas, rivers which carry bits of sedimentary rock, enter the sea and "dump" whatever they carried on its journey to the sea. As you may well know, there is salt in this sedimnetary rock. The dead sea is more salty that others for a fews reasons: * Higher salt content in rocks & soil * More rivers entering sea
The DEAD SEA 'Jordon'
Because the the sea water contains salt, which increases the density of the water. Therefore, the ships becomes even less dense than the water, making it float higher.
Dead sea is a salt lake which is located in middle east. It borders Jordan to the east and Palestine and Israel to the west. It is 9-6 times more saline than ocean hence no marine life can flourish in it. That is why it is called dead sea.
The salinity in isolated seas and salt-water lakes (for example, the Dead Sea) can be considerably greater. SO there's a high salinity in the Dead Sea. :D
There are roughly about 9,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 cubic gallons of water in the dead sea. But the dead sea is very slowly shrinking so in 100 years time there will only be 9,000,000,000 cubic gallons of water in the sea!
Diving or going under the surface of the water in the dead sea is very difficult due to the high salt concentration, makes the water more dense, allowing objects to float more easily. If you find a place high enough to jump from, you can still dive, but its fairly shallow and the bottom is covered with sharp crystallized salt that will probably hurt you, and there is a pretty thick layer of mineral oil in the Dead Sea that will coat your entire body and make you extremely uncomfortable if you get you face wet.
The Dead Sea is called the Dead Sea because nothing can live in it. This is due to the massive amounts of salt. It has ten times more than the ocean. The sea is the lowest elevation on earth. It is 420 meters under sea level.
Sacred words. Mostly from or from regal or royal families.
The Dead Sea contains lots of salt. The excessive amount of salt kills all its inhabitants, thus giving its name the Dead Sea. The reason why people go into the Dead Sea is to heal wounds. Salt can heal wounds.
_____
The reason that most people go to the Dead Sea is because it is fun and how fantastic your skin is after doing the ultimate full body mud wrap. The Dead Sea water has the highest salt content of any body of water on the planet. As a result, it is impossible to sink in the water and it's even almost impossible to stand up once you've gotten to a decent depth. One of the most interesting thing is that as you get close to the water, everyone seems to start to laugh.
