What can you take to get methadone out of your system?

You should detox from methadone in a medical detox facility. Methadone detox is the worst of all the opiates -- much worse than heroin -- lasts about twice to three times as long, and can be fatal in some cases. Suboxone is often used clinically for methadone detox, along with supporting medications as needed.

Will a drug test show suboxone and Klonopin if I have not taken any in 5 to 10 days?

not sure of the half life on suboxone or wheather it is a chemical compound that would come up on most drug screens but if you took the klonopin fairly regularly (and not just once) it will definitely show up on a drug screen. Benzos like clonazepam stay in your system a long time especially if you have taken them consistently for a while

Why did prohibition alcohol start?

Cultural conflict between existing citizens and newer immigrants from eastern and southern Europe (heavily Catholics and Jews), nativism, strong support from the Ku Klux Klan (KKK), rural-urban antagonisms, the power of the Woman's Christian Union (WCTU), a growing feminism movement, and the desire of the Progressive movement to create a perfect society through social engineering and control all contributed to the imposition of National Prohibition in 1920.

What the person above this was trying to say is, as addicts we do things that we are not always proud of, and we should NEVER judge another person for what they have done in their lives, addiction is a disease and is uncontrollable. The answer to your question is, unless they run the special test that they use for Suboxone, then no, it will not show up in a drug test that is given to you, or your child, but please, for the sake of your life, and your child, please, get help, drugs are not the way, there is an amazing life to be lived clean and sober, I have been sober many years now and my life is so much better than it ever was when I was using. There are people out there willing to help, AA/NA is an amazing group of fellow addicts and alchoholics that will not judge you, as the person that wrote the previous answer did, but they will welcome you warmly and listen to you, understand you, and do all they can to help you to remain clean and sober.

"God take my will and my life, guide me in my recovery, and show me how to live. Amen."

I am pregnant and have started taking suboxone cause I don't want them to take my child from me when I go into labor which I am due in only five days. Seriously, hypocrites that take the damn Oxycontin sont know what its like to get pregnant and be sick EVERYDAY.. Who wants to withdrawl while pregnant? And then WHO KNOWS what you had to go through? Guess well be finding out what suboxone shows up as if anything in a few days.. If I go into labor. Has anyone ever gotten off Suboxone?

Yes many people have but it is very individual and there is no rule for how long to take suboxone. it depends on your situation. I was on it for about two years until I got my personal life back in order after destroying it from severe heroin use of ten years. You should not quit if things are totally crazy in your life. You should be in a very stable environment and should have very stable and in good standing in your personal relationships. And when you quit you should do it very very gradually. Good luck and message me if you have any other questions. Email me at jasondavidrice@wikianswers.com if you need any advice.

What constitutes a pornography addiction?

There are several pieces of an addiction. It is a complex disease. One does not need have all of the criteria to have an addiction, but if someone has a few of them there is a high suspicion that addiction exists.

Tolerance - does it take more of a substance to get the same effect? For example: When someone first started drinking, they could get a "buzz" on the 2nd beer, but now it takes several beers to catch a buzz and even more to become intoxicated. Or, when someone first starts taking pain medication, it takes one or two pills to address the pain. At some point tolerance to the medication begins and one or two pills no longer treats that pain.

Withdrawal - Having uncomfortable or even dangerous symptoms when a person stops using/taking the addictive substance. For example: if a person drinks frequently and wakes up in the morning with the shakes, they are already going into withdrawal and generally have to have a drink to stop the shakes. When someone stops smoking, they have headaches, get grumpy, anxious and irritable. That's withdrawal.

Difficulty controlling use - Either having problems controlling the amount one is using or difficulty controlling the number times (per day/per week) one is using.

Using in spite of negative consequences - people who are addicted will often continue to use in spite of the risk of losing friendships, family members, jobs, grades, opportunities and health.

Spending significant time or emotional energy- A key indicator of addiction is spending a lot of time trying to obtain, use, hide, or plan use of a substance. Thinking about how to explain or minimize use, or having difficulty doing tasks for thinking about use are warning signs.

Trying to cut down - Often people who are addicted have a deep desire to cut down and simply be a "normal" user. People find themselves making deals with themselves or another person, such as "I'm only going to have TWO tonight." or, "This week, I am only going to drink one time." Placing these rules on a person's use is rarely an effective strategy as these promises to self typically end up broken and a source of guilt. The bottom line is that people who are "normal" users (example: "normal" drinkers) do not need to cut down or do not have trouble cutting should they decide to do so for health reasons.

There is HELP for addiction. If you or someone you know exhibits any of these symptoms, there is ALWAYS help very close by. If you find yourself in this situation, post a new question about how to get help.

How long do i need to wait until i can take xanax after taking suboxone?

It's not very easy to answer because it depends on the dose of each drug and how far apart they were taken, among other things, but it can last longer than 24 hours.

Mixing these two drugs is VERY dangerous and you should contact a doctor immediately if you have done so.

How do you tell if a drug addict is bipolar?

Symptoms of Bipolar DisorderBipolar disorder is a cyclic illness where people periodically exhibit elevated (Manic) and depressive episodes. Most people will experience a number of episodes, averaging 0.4 to 0.7 a year with each lasting 3-6 months. Late adolescence and early adulthood are peak years for the onset of the illness. ClassificationBipolar disorder is commonly categorized as either Bipolar Type I, where an individual experiences full-blown mania, or Bipolar Type II, in which the hypomanic "highs" do not go to the extremes of mania. The latter is much more difficult to diagnose, since the hypomanic episodes may simply appear as a period of successful high productivity and is reported less frequently than a distressing depression. Psychosis can occur, particularly in manic periods. There are also 'rapid cycling' subtypes. Because there is so much variation in the severity and nature of mood-related problems, the concept of a bipolar spectrum is often employed, which includes cyclothymia. There is no consensus as to how many 'types' of bipolar disorder exist. Many people with bipolar disorder experience severe anxiety and are very irritable (to the point of rage) when in a manic state, while others are euphoric and grandiose. The depressive phaseSigns and symptoms of the depressive phase of bipolar disorder include: persistent feelings of sadness, anxiety, guilt, anger, isolation and/or hopelessness, disturbances in sleep and appetite, fatigue and loss of interest in usually enjoyed activities, problems concentrating, loneliness, self-loathing, apathy or indifference, depersonalization, loss of interest in sexual activity, shyness or social anxiety, irritability, chronic pain (with or without a known cause), lack of motivation, and morbid/suicidal ideation. ManiaMania is generally characterized by a distinct period of an elevated, expansive or irritable mood state. People commonly experience an increase in energy and a decreased need for sleep. A person's speech may be pressured, with thoughts experienced as racing. Attention span is low and a person in a manic state may be easily distracted. People may feel they have been 'chosen', or are 'on a special mission', which are considered grandiose or delusional ideas. At more extreme phases, a person in a manic state can begin to experience psychosis, or a break with reality, where thinking is affected along with mood. In order to be diagnosed with mania according to DSM-IV, a person must experience this state of elevated or irritable mood as well as other symptoms for two or more weeks.1

For proper diagnosis, please see your physician.

What is a compulsion?

A compulsion is the performance of an action or desire to perform an action for a very specific reason. This reason may be arbitrary or based upon logic, societal belief, or personal experience. Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) may for example, compel an affected individual to wash their hands several times instead of one to get them clean. The person may or not be aware that washing your hands once or twice gets them reasonably the same amount of clean as washing them six or nine times, but sees the logic that if one wash is good and kills germs that two or ten washes should kill germs the first wash missed.

Oftentimes a person with a compulsion is aware of the fact that their specific action or actions are viewed as bizarre or extreme in the societal eye but chooses to continue the action as it grants them personal comfort regardless of the opinions of others.
