The dynasties continued for many centuries until the conquests of Egypt by the Assyrians and Persians, then by Alexander the Great in 332 BC, by Rome around 30 BC, and by the Persians again between 618 and 641 AD.

Ancient Egypt was 5,000 years ago and it has little impact on our lives except for the history and understanding of one of the great civilizations in man's history. In the 1920's after King Tut's tomb was found many buildings had Egyptian style decorations and facades. If you look carefully today you can still see these on older buildings. The early movie houses often had a theme featuring an Egyptian style decorative scheme. Buildings were created with columns and at the top of them you can see decorative palm leaves so the columns look like palm trees. Look carefully around you and you will find the influence of ancient Egypt in your own city.
