By your use of the term 'homewrecker' it is clear that you have not viewed this situation honestly. The only problem you can/should address in this situation is your spouse. Your spouse is the one who strayed. It is not the fault of the other person who is involved. They owe no duty to you. Only your spouse does. You need to ask why your spouse allowed the situation to develop in the first place, what is wrong in your marriage, can it be fixed, do you want to fix it and does your spouse want to fix it. The only person who can remove the other party involved is your spouse. You each need to decide on where you go from here.

There really is no one most important thing to tell your child because raising a child involves teaching him or her many things. It's important to also teach your child the values that are so important to being a good person, such as honesty, loyalty, and responsibility. And teaching your child not to be racist, bigoted, prejudiced, and to not be judgemental of others is crucial. Those who are brought up with those negative qualities and beliefs are only being set up for failure and a life of difficulty, and are more likely to have anger issues when they are older.
Teaching your child the importance of never doing drugs is also important. Once they start down the road of drug abuse, it's a long, hard way back from using drugs, and many of them never find their way back from it. So it's best to teach them to never even start using drugs.
You should also teach your child that, while it's important to have and keep a job when they are grown, it's also important that they choose a field of work which they enjoy, and then to do their very best at it. Whether it's being a doctor, lawyer, mechanic, hairdresser, construction worker, store clerk, etc., there are no 'low' jobs, only people who perform their jobs lowly. And as long as they truly enjoy what they do, and take pride in their work, they will be much happier in the other areas of their life.
Their best role models are their parents, so teach them by example. If they see you living your life in the way you teach them to live theirs, they will be much more likely to learn the values and stick with them.
