4) 1993's Apology Bill signed by President Clinton Everyone is made to believe that Hawaii became a part of the U.S., but no one wants to say how that happened. Hawaii was annxed back in 1898 during the Spanish-American War via the Newlands Resolution. But anyone who knows the U.S. Constitution would remember that in Article I, Sec. 8 it states what the House is allowed to do, and how their power is limited to the United States.
Article II, Sec. 2 states that only the President shall have the power to make treaties. How can it be possible then, that a Resolution that came out of the House (created by Congressman Francis Newlands) be a treaty of annexation, something that only the President can make?
In both the 1988 and 1996 Legal Opinion I mentioned above they quesiton how that was possible, yet they had no valid reason why or how. Then the fact that they tried to have a voting back in 1959 to have Hawaii become a state. That too was another thing gone wrong. And the illegalities continue.
