There are numerous ways and means a person can become a citizen of the USA. However, the process is complicated and the number of ways a person can become a citizen are numerous.

One can become a US citizen through seasonal worker programs, student visa, marriage or family, business/employment etc. Usually a person needs to be a permanent resident of the USA for three years before they can apply to become a naturalized citizen.

Well answer depends on when or how fast after applying for green card your travel plan is. Depending on the seriousness and urgency of your visit the decision to travel must be taken. Maybe going outside US will not be a problem but entering becomes a problem.

Check out the US Embassy in Londons website. It will answer this one. You can get one, but generally it has to be for a job that very few other people are qualified for. I hear it helps if you have a PHD in computer science :)

Yes and No. Voting can only be done by registering, which requires being a citizen or permanent resident with a green card. If a person is undocumented, they can not legally vote. To vote on a national level you must be a citizen.
