What do you need to set a habitat for a ladybug?

Cut three pieces of wood the same size and sand the edges. These will be the back and sides of the ladybug house. Nail them together.
- Step 2
Cut a piece to fit the bottom of the house and sand edges. Attach this to the box with nails. Now is the time to cut a top for the ladybug house. Sand and nail the top to the box.

Measure the piece for the front of the ladybug house. It should be slightly smaller than the sides and back to give the ladybugs room to enter and exit as they please. About an inch or so will do. After sanding, attach the front piece to the box with washers to allow access for adding food, water and for cleaning the house.

Paint the ladybug house or use a sealant so it will last through weather longer. Decorate the outside of the house if desired.

Affix the ladybug house to a short pole in the garden, preferably about a foot or two off the ground.

Nectar attracts ladybugs, so placing a small piece of sponge that has been soaked in sugar water inside the ladybug house. A water source and a little food, either some aphids or sweet alyssum, will help keep the ladybugs comfortable.

Answer:Any over the counter insecticide for general pest control will work. However, it is always better to address the problem on the outside of your home than on the inside.The answer is pretty simple, and has to so with properties of water, mostly, not insects. Water molecules are polar molecules containing Oxygen and Hydrogen. This allows them to form hydrogen bonds when in close proximity to each-other (hydrogen bonds are a strong type of Inter-molecular force.) The molecules on the surface, however, have less water molecules near them, and so form stronger hydrogen bonds with nearby water molecules. Some insects, like the iconic water strider, have large feet to displace their weight over a large area, and thus avoid breaking the surface hydrogen bonds, which allows them to "walk on water."
Mmmm, here's the deal. Insects can survive in water for a while because they breathe through their bodies and small bubbles of air cling to the minute hairs on their bodies. You can't get rid of fleas by submerging the animal in water, it just won't work. Not to mention air is also trapped in the animal's fur. You really need some sort of "flux" to get the air off them and poison the bugs. Shampoo for fleas is great as it also has a poison for fleas, but if you don't have any and can't get any, a good human shampoo will do in a punch and usually works if you lather up the animal, rinse, lather and rinse. It will usually kill the fleas off and they'll wash off the body with a good rinsing. Make sure to use your hands and really massage and scrub. Good luck
