If its been properly stored and is only slightly past expiry it should be fine. However once it starts getting the distintive sour milk taste it is best to dump it.

Whole milk (4-5% fat) is good for children 1-2 years old. The fat in the milk is good for brain development. (Babies under one year of age should not drink cow's milk - they may develop allergies to it.) After age two, it's OK to wean down to lower fat milk. But milk alone, regardless of how fresh it is, or what kind of mammal it comes from, is not sufficient as a sole source of nutrition for a 2-year-old! By the age of two, toddlers should be offered a wide variety of healthy foods.
