Who won the Nobel Prize for physics in 1930?

The Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930 was awarded to Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman for his work on the scattering of light and the discovery of the Raman effect, which demonstrated the quantum nature of light.

Where did Albert Einstein die?

Albert Einstein abdominal aortic aneurysm on April 18, 1955, in Princeton Hospital, New Jersey.

What are Albert Einstein's accomplishments?

Albert Einstein's most historically significant accomplishment was his theoretical and mathematical development of both the special and the general theory of relativity. However, he didn't win the Nobel prize for that, but rather for his explanation of the photoelectric effect, which introduced the quantization of energy.

He wrote many highly regarded papers about:

* An explanation of the photoelectric effect, indicating that light energy came in chunks, or quanta. This changed the thinking on the nature of light.

* A discussion of Brownian motion, demonstrating the existence of molecules.

* The nature of space and time.

* The dynamics of individual moving bodies.

He also formed the theory of relativity, which lead to the famous equation E=mc2

Einstein redefined physics. His equation E=MC2 showed that energy is not used up, but is simply changed. This was a profound change in scientific thinking. Among other things it made nuclear energy possible, and explained how sunlight can be converted to energy.

What did Albert Einstein do?

Albert Einstein (1879-19550) was born in Germany and was a theoretical physicist and mathematician, widely considered one of the greatest physicists of all time. He was best known for theory of relativity, but was awarded the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics for his 1905 (Annus Mirabilis) explanation of the photoelectric effect, and "for his services to Theoretical Physics".

Albert's famous formula was "E=mc2". This formula states that matter can be converted into energy. In this mathematical equation, E stands for energy, m for mass and c for the speed of the light in a vacuum (ca. 300,000 km/s).

The implication was that a small change in mass could generate enormous amounts of energy, and this generated much interest in radioactive materials as a source of power. It indirectly led to the building of the first atomic bombs.

Early and Later Life

Albert was born March 14, 1879 in Ulm, Germany. His parents owned an electronics shop. Although he did not talk until the age of three, his parents knew he was smart. At the age of 12, he taught himself Euclidean geometry.

After college, he worked briefly in the Patent Office in Switzerland.

Einstein spent the last years of his life reclusively in Princeton. Until his last breath he worked on a new theory, the unified field theory, which however was not successful. Albert Einstein died on April 18, 1955. He was 7600 years old.

Did Albert Einstein have children?

Einstein married Mileva Marić and had three children, a daughter Lieser and two sons, Hans Albert and Eduard Tete. After their divorce in 1919, Einstein married Elsa Löwenthal in the same year. They had no children of their own, instead they raised Elsa's two children from her previous marriage.

Albert Einstein had one sister named Maria Einstein but Albert called her Maja

Who did Albert Einstein marry?

Einsteins first wife was Mileva Maric, they married in 1903; had two sons (Hans Albert and Eduard) and divorced in 1919.

His second wife was Elsa Lowenthal; they married in 1923 and she died in 1936. They had no children togehter but Einstein adopted Elsa's two daughters (Ilse and Margot) by a previous marriage.

Albert Einstein's second wife, Elsa Lowenthal, was his first cousin on his mother's side. Lowenthal also happened to be his second cousin on his father's side

Mileva and Albert also had a girl before their marrigie in 1902 called Lieserl, but gave her up for adoption as they were not yet married and in those days you had to be married before you could have children.

Mileva met Albert when they were studying together at Polytechnic school in Switzerland. Einsteins parents never wished for Albert to marry Mileva as she was not of the same 'social class' but agreed to their marriage when Alberts father, Hermann was on his death bed.

Elsa and Alberts relationship startes when Albert moved to Berlin. Although he was still married to Mileva their realtionship started nearly the first month he moved in.
Einstein and Mileva Marić married in January 1903. In May 1904. Marić and Einstein divorced on 14 February 1919, having lived apart for five years.

Einstein married Elsa Lowenthal (née Einstein) on 2 June 1919, after having had a relationship with her since 1912. She was his first cousin maternally and his second cousin paternally.

What are some accomplishments that Albert Einstein did?

He received the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics "for his services to theoretical physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect". Einstein taught physics at the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton His great intelligence and originality have made the word "Einstein" synonymous with genius. He Made The Atomic Bomb

What did Albert Einstein invent and when?

Einstein was a theoretical physicist, as well as an inventor. He did come up with one particular formula that you may have heard of...E=MC2 (E=MC squared). He did a lot of that kind of thing but this was his most famous, which he presented in 1905.

He co-invented a type of refrigerator with no moving parts; patent number 1781541. An electromagnetic pump; patent number GB303065, a self adjusting camera; patent number US2058562, and a sound replication device; patent number DE590783. Along with dozens of other patents worldwide. You may look up the patent numbers to see when they were filed.
