Can sulfinyl cause the same type as a sulfa drug allergy?
Sulfinyl is a component of Prilosec. I have a sulfa allergy and unwittingly took a Prilosec. I had swelling in the mouth, lips, larnyx and bottom. So, I'd say sulfinyl can cause an allergic reaction in a person with a sulfa drug allergy. There was nothing else to explain it.

First, try eliminating dairy from your diet, milk creates mucus. Second, use a nasal rinse to remove mucus. Buy a Nettie Pot or similar product from the drug store and use the prepackaged saline mix with water in the Nettie pot to flush the sinuses. The Nettie pot is like a tiny teapot, you press the spout up to your nose, tilt your head and let the saline solution flow through. It's a little uncomfortable at first but the mixture will flow through and come out the other nostril When you finish do the other nostril and gently blow your nose.

What home remedies can help your west highland terrier with bad allergies?
My last westie had severe allergies, and after trying out different remedies we found that cortison was the most effective treatment for her severe skin allergy (at one point she had scratched off ALLher fur). We also had very good results with a drug called "Atopica Vet" (i believe the active ingredient is Ciklospori)
In general we were adviced that cortison would limit her lifespan, she died aged 14 after being on quite high doses of cortison since she was 3 years old.

Is sansevieria trifasciata poisonous?
Yes, Sansevieria trifasciata or otherwise known as Snake plant, Mother-in-law's tongue, and Saint George's sword is poisonous to dogs and cats, and mildly to humans. The leaves and flowers of Sansevieria trifasciata contain saponins, which the plant produces to protect itself from predation by microbes, fungi, and insects. The plants overall toxicity is relatively low. A dog's gastrointestinal reaction may be mild to moderate, but probably wont cross the line into life threatening toxicosis. The saponins have very bitter taste, which will likely convince the pet to look elsewhere for tastier snacking before he consumes enough to do real damage.
The poison found in the plant can cause the tongue and throat to swell and be numb. It can also cause irritation of the mouth, lips, and tongue; excessive drooling; vomiting; and difficulty in swallowing. In severe cases there may be distress in the digestive tract.
