In 2010 January I decided to get a shingles shot, and my sister (mother of an autistic son) immediately said "now you've screwed up your immune system". I didn't think anything more about it until June.

I have never been allergic to pollen or outdoor plants. For years (age 59) I have enjoyed being out in the Michigan woods, hand cutting trails and maintaining them on my property. This time in June it was different. I had spent 2 hours trimming wild brush. When I came back in and looked in the mirror my face had swollen around my eyes, and I had trouble seeing. My forehead was red and itchy and would later produce dry patches of skin.

In a few weeks I had healed over, so I put a small test bit of pollen near my nose. My eyes were swollen a few hours later. I wasn't going to stop going into the woods. How could I get back to my old self?

I started by eating probiotic yogurt, drinking a lot of water, and intentionally contacting small amounts of pollen to build up my system. By the end of summer, I was much improved, almost no reaction to pollens. I won't really know until next year on the trails when I get in contact with cut plants.

Allergies are kind of like an immune disorder but not in the typical sense, rather people that have allergies just have extremely reactive immune systems. First of all I am not a Dr but a parent of a baby with grain allergies. I began to wonder due to a very bumpy rash that was slowly crawling up her legs. They almost looked like little pimples. She did not scratch and they did not seem to bother her. Since I had heard that grain allergies are very common I simply took her off grains. Within a week her legs were clearing up and now a month later they are completely clear. I visited a NAET in my area and she confirmed this allergy.

One must NEVER give a cat human medicine. Not because cats are allergic, its because it is incredibly easy to overdose and that can often be fatal. Cats are much, much smaller than humans, so giving a cat human antibiotics, even in a small amount, is incredibly dangerous.

If a has fallen ill or is in pain or has an infection, take it to the vets immediately so can be treated with medicine that is completely safe for cats.

I developed the allergy at age 24 post body trauma event. I didnt realizr I had the allergy until I was26 and had vomited etc about 11times. COuldn't figure it out as I had eaten LOTS of shellfish in my life.

Then at age 52 I thought when I develpoped an allergy to handling 'I thought maybe my shellfish allergy is gone and if it is ,,,,anyway I got to risk vomiting to see

People who are allergic to peanuts could die from it. They die from it when eating them, touching them and sometimes even smelling them. It doesn't causes death every time someone eats peanuts. They might end up in a hospital.

i was wondering have really bad allergies to to cats, i happen to be at my friends house. He offered me some blow, so as a young male i agreed in my half drunken state of mind. He let his cat in from outside and the cat immediately jumped on the table and whirled his tale in my face....etc. i took some benadryl to calm my itching and swelling is that ok?
