Animal Parasites

Animal parasites refer to the common parasites that afflict animals, such as worms, ticks, mites, lice, and fleas. Animal parasites come in two varieties, external and internal, and can be very troublesome for the animal, sometimes leading to severe illness or death. There are often treatment options for these parasites, but the best way avoid exposure is for animals to receive regular veterinary care.

Ctenocephalides orientis, who is a member of the Flea-order (Siphonoptera) has 14 chromosomes i all. That is 7 chromosome-pairs.

Do you take a bath or have a bath?

Either is correct, but the idiom take a bath (or take a shower) is more frequently used in the US.
Take a bath and have a bath are both correct.

In older times, the term was "I need to draw a bath." which have stemmed to the more modern way of speech...

Neither one is wrong, but:

Most likely you will hear people say, "I need to take a bath." If you analyze what this is really saying it sounds like you are literally picking up the bathtub and taking it with you somewhere.

If you say, "I need to have a bath." It sounds a little more grammatically correct because you are going to go do the routine of having a bath by getting inside the bathtub.

Can you give a dog medication for worms while on an antibiotic?

Depends on the type of worm. If you don't KNOW, ask your Vet. Pyrantel Pamoate Suspension is often used by kennel owners for pinworms. It's inexpensive and available without an Rx on the net.

Draw the correct amount by the dog's weight into a syringe (without the needle) and spray against the top of the dog's mouth (to keep it from going down the "wrong pipe"). Keep your dog's area clean, as in pick up waste immediately and check their stool to see if they need a second dose and minimize reinfection.

Pinworms can also be transferred to humans. If you train 20-30 dogs at a time, you're likely to catch them, sooner or later. The same formulation will work -- that's what it was made for -- it tastes pleasantly minty. Follow dosage on the container.

Also, if the dog is small, it can be extremely harmful, often making the dog very sick. Small dogs could choke or suffocate, and the large nut could griend their teeth and make them more likely to fall out. Peanuts are also bad for dogs, if not in very small amounts.
