How much is Andy warhols famous painting worth?

more than you can afford. my mom owns an art gallery and a has one Andy warhol piece and it is very nice but highly priced. If you have to ask then you cant afford it

This was a very mean-spirited and snobbish answer and really not an answer at all. I will try to nicely answer your question.

Andy Warhol has quite a few very famous paintings. If you mean the Campbell Soup Paintings then the answer is that one sold for close to 12 million dollars in 2006. There are 32 different paintings representing the 32 different varieties of soup that Campbell's made. A complete collection of the paintings can be seen in the Museum of Modern Art in NYC. If each one is worth 12 million then it is a very valuable collection.

Warhol painted more than one of each variety and they are in private collections and museums throughout the world. I really don't know how many individual soup can paintings are out there.

The most money for a single Warhol painting ever paid was in 2007. Someone paid 71.7 million for Green Car Crash.

His paintings have sold from the low 6 figures to the high 8 figures!

Are faberge eggs still being made?

It is an interesting fact that Faberge eggs are made of gold, enamel, and precious gems inside. Originally, it was a closely guarded secret. Inside, each contained a surprise. Each egg was a masterpiece. In 1891, for example, Fabergé presented the Azova egg, carved from a solid piece of green jasper and covered with gold and diamond scrollwork in Louis XV style.

What is the value of David Winter Cottages from 1985?

good question!!! i have an extensive winters collection that i would like to sell. i have found that if i look up on eBay and follow the pricing of the bids, that gives me a general idea of the market value. of course some pieces are more vallued and rare than others. also, try to talk to others that have bought and sold pieces. each piece is different , so will be the price. talk to retailers and see if they can guide you in pricing the piece(s). i have also considered auctions and letting the chips fall where they may. good luck in your'e search. i hoped i helped a little. How can you sell your art?

For an artist just starting out, the internet is rapidly becoming the best place to showcase your work.

The only way to sell anything is to have a buyer see your work. You can apply to art galleries in your area, and find out from the owner what would be the best place to display your work.

I have seen artists work featured in banks and restaurants. Maybe you can find one near you that will let you show.

AnswerI really don't suggest the internet as a way to sell art. It is a more social activity. A good way to gain recognition is to see if you local PBS station does an annual art auction and donate a piece to them to sell on their televised auction.

Also check your local galleries to see if they are accepting new artist. You will need between 4 to 6 pieces for a gallery showing.

Create promotional MATERIALS. A web page and/or blog, a pocket-portfolio with some art images, a small give-away or business card with your web page address, a brochure and a full-size portfolio with photos of your work (not the originals).

Participate in LOCAL EVENTS (street fairs, festivals, flee markets, etc.). The more you are "out there" the more chances you have of selling your work. Giving back a percentage of sales to a charity is an added plus.

These books might help you, to start: "How to Get Started Selling Your Art" by Carole Katchen & "Art Marketing 101" by the ArtNetwork.

AnswerTry to start by making contacts and attending art fairs and other art events in your community. One last piece of advice: find out about art market tips and tricks. Many useful books about taking art from a hobby to a business are available. AnswereBay is a popular place to sell art online, but the fees are very expensive with varying listing fees and up to 15% final value commissions. Other popular online art alternatives are etsy and artfire, which are generally cheaper than ebay. Artfire charges a flat $12.95/month. Etsy charges $0.20 per quantity of item. So if you sell 10 different items, each with a quantity of 10, it would cost $20.00 in listing fees. Plus etsy charges a 3.5% final commission charge on anything that sells (I checked the fees, current as of 2/28/2012). Craigslist is free, but you typically only get to target audiences in one city at a time.

Another new site call UniSquare is like ebay and has an online art marketplace. There are no listing fees, no registration or monthly fees and only a low, flat 2% final commission fee. This is affordable and would be recommended if you would like to list a lot of items for a long time and not have to pay anything until they sell. Like ebay, you can also build free web stores as well.

How can you tell the difference between a watercolor and a print?

If its a poster, you will have a stamp on the back of where it was made/reproduced. If its an oil painting, it will be on heavier paper, and more than likely, it will be an original. Although, I've never seen one in person, there is a web site that will tell you more. www.rosamond.com.

She worked not only with watercolors, but did several oil and guauche works. They vary in size, but some of her oil paintings are quite large.

Are pots and ceramics the same?

There are many types of ceramic pots as well as thousands of uses, from flower pots to cooking pots, I've included an excerpt and the site for ideas: (click on the picture for more info)

These ceramic pots represent a new style of pottery introduced in Puebla in late 18th and early 19th century. A wider range of colors replaced the more traditional blue and white ceramics. This style is called azul punche, a reference to the light blue background color.

Is there an artist named R Snapper from the Netherlands and do his paintings have any value?

There is a Reinier Snapper (b. 1907) from the Netherlands. A few of his pieces have been sold at art auctions, but it is difficult to obtain info on the selling prices without joining an art evaluation website, which usually charges a membership fee.

First of all, you have to make sure they are original paintings. Through my own research, one painting 27X29 was auctioned off for $1708.00. Another auctioned around 1997 for approx. $1900.00. You may want to check out Worthpoint.com or call your local art museum and check with their research dept.
