Look on the carburetor on left or right side. On it, look for a gold/brass colored screw with a spring on it. Turn in and out to adjust the idle speed. Nothing can be damaged with this as the importent screw jet screws are out of way and not easy to get at.

I don't think so, because the Klf 300 4x4 was not a very popular model. Try searching for Carboretor kits on the Klf 300 not the 4x4, because it was more popular. But im not sure if it has the same tuning as the 4x4. Good Luck.

PS: For a I thought of getting a klf 300 4x4 but then i settled for a brute force 300 4x4 ( kvf300 ) instead. :)

Replace the jet needle and the needle jet . it is the one in the center of the carb .the hole in jet gets enlarged by all this crap gas they are forcing on us WHEN THE NEEDLE COMES DOWN IT IS SUPPOSED TO CUT OFF THE FUEL FLOW ,WITH A WORN JET IT ALLOWS TOO MUCH FUEL TO BYPASS THE NEEDLE FOWLING THE SPARKPLUGS .

It is a screw that has 4 threads wrapping around the shaft ( and 4 starting points) where a standard screw has just one thread that wraps around its shaft. It requires a matching nut. It travels 4 times as far with the same radius of turn so it is 4 times faster to install.

I have a Honda 1986 TRX200sx ATV and i am looking at the same thing ive looked online and edelbrock has carburetors but they are all for higher CC's and newer models so i don't know what have you came up with

OR just goto the Honda dealer and buy a jet kit for that model prolly 20-30 dollars..take the carb apart and count the turn out for each jet and right it down replace the jets and float and seat valve needle valve...put back together and good as new!!or you can buy a new 300$$ carb and pay a pro to jet it for you..its your choice,id rebuild it for cheap, its old and id even rebuild with a new ATV

I use 15W-50 Aeroshell Semi-synthetic, but my Bayou 220 only is used in the summer, it is specifically made for air-cooled engines. I would not use a full synthetic unless it was a motorcycle oil, if an automotive full synthetic is used it could ruin the wet clutches. The final answer: Any good motorcycle oil in 10W-40 will work fine.

you can get a diagram out of a Clymer book for the specific year of your quad. If you don't have a Clymer laying around and don't feel like spending the money you can just print one off of the Internet.

You have to take off the carburetor. After that you will see two little plugs in it. You take those out and they will have little holes in them. You get a drill bit a little bigger than the hole and bore bigger holes in the plugs. After you put the carburetor back in, you may have to reset the idle. It will take up more gas but it will go faster.
