How come my cb radio turns on to channel 9 everytime you turn it on?
This question could better be answered if we knew the make and model of your radio. Your radio has some sort of selector switch between normal operation and channel 9. Can't be more specific in pinpointing it without knowing what kind of radio you have, other than to tell you to check the face of the radio for a knob with selections on that say something like "NOR" and "CH9".

What does 'pas de chat' mean in ballet?
It means literally a "cat's step".
In ballet, it is executed by starting on two feet (foot A and foot B, for this purpose). As foot A is brought into passe the dancer jumps off of foot B and brings it quickly up into the position that would be passe if foot A were on the ground. Once the position is reached the dancers lands on foot A.
The sequence as a whole is Foot A up, Foot B up, Foot A down, Foot B down, in other words, the legs move independently of each other.
A pas de chat is always done very quickly.
I think you mean "tendu". It is French for "to point". This is a basic step of sliding your foot on the ground to extend with a pointed foot, front, side, or back.
How much schooling does a ballet dancer need?
Why must danceers use turn-out?
Dancers turn out their feet for a few reasons. It looks better because it helps to create classical lines for the dancer. Also, it can help the dancer with balance, especially en pointe.
The boys should do Ballet because it will give them stronger legs and will help them with there balance. It is there decison but if they do it they will turn out like Billy Elliot and come very popular. Also girls need a partner to lift them up in certain dancers.
Ah, i see. If your mom was my mom, i would tell her the truth. I would tell her that i know she wants me to take ballet and be a ballerina, but what if ballet isn't really what I'm into? Tell her that you know she loves ballet, and that she wants me to take ballet and follow in her footsteps, but what if i don't like ballet. What if i like somethingelse like Softball, Soccer, or what ever you like (I'm speaking to the person who asked this question). I'm sure that she will understand. Just be honest with her. She might agree with you, and let you join another group/sport. Maybe even a club!!
~your welcome!!
(i hope i helped you).

What is a political party in the US?
THAT is a really good question. In fact the United States Constitution doesn't even mention political parties. For many, at the time to document was written, it was comtemplated that there would be no political parties. But it didn't work out that way.
In fact no matter what country you are in political parties seem to be a fact of life. Even in countries who try to maintain only one political party. It is true that we are not aware of parties in North Korea or Cuba, two totalarian states, but I suspect they are there none the less.
A political party is an organiztion of people who seek political power to do things of common interest.
Great definition, but it breaks down when parties are examined closely. Ususally, it turns out that political parties are coalitions of persons seeking policial power in which the mission of their partners in the coaltion is not wholely objectionable.
Therefore they will arrive at a place where they say; "I will vote for you on your issue if you will vote for me on mine."
While 'politics makes for strange bedfellows' political parties are made up of persons for whom everyone in the party is acceptable to them on some level.
Can I become a professional ballerina if I start Ballet at 13?
I don't mean to discourage you or put you down in any way, but the answer is probably no. Ballerinas start their training around the age . of three and work intensively for many years to reach a professional level, and even then many do not make it. I'm also not saying that is impossible for you to become professional ballerina, but you would have to work ridicuosly hard, and even then you would be in competion with girls that have worked and trained their entire lives to become ballerinas, meaning they would have years more practice than you. It takes usually at least ten years just to get on pointe. Now this doesn't mean you still can't join a class, even just for fun, and it is still possible to get fairly good at ballet too.
Hiya, the comment above is very true but if you are discouraged don't be it is not possible and if you have ever seen the film 'black swan' you will see how Natalie Portman who played the ballet dancer was great at it, she has no doubles in the movie and became that skilled after just 365 days of extremely intense training, if you follow your dream, you can do anything - just about! ;)
Both above are true. I am an aspiring professional contemporary dancer and it is INTENSE. If you absolutely love it, as in cannot imagine a day without it, and you are willing to dedicate your life (I am at the studio 7 days a week for many hours a day) to it, then it may be worth a shot. Ballet especially is extremely competitive and strenuous. at 13 that gives you about 5 years to perfect a technique. It takes about 10 serious years to make a professional dancer out of yourself. (not really counting those first few years of "just for fun") if you do not have the body for ballet, not to sound rude, but it is just fact; dont look the part, won't get it-trust me-- and if u really just started, it would be immensely difficult. Not saying that it hasnt been done, but the coordination and the flawless technique it takes to make it, among many other things, are nearly impossible to reach in 5 years. Especially when adding pointe technique to the equation. Dont lose hope, but also be realistic! if you really love dancing, you can always keep dancing, but a career may be very difficult.
