What is the logical appeal for Stem Cell Research?
Stem Cell research has influence in diverse medical fields mostly in relation with the partial or almost total regeneration of organs and tissues. There is an increasing interest in its use in the treatment of heart pathologies among other fields.
Can stem cell research form tumors?
Stem cells are 'cells with no specialization', they can become almost any kind of cell, including a tumor. However, stem cell research is directed to the regeneration of cells in dysfunctional but constitutionally normal tissues and organs and therefore are not likely to form tumors.
What is wrong with stem cell research?
It is very difficult to classify stem-cell research as wrong, as it is a subjective (and very controversial) topic. The best way to find out whether it is 'right' or 'wrong' would be to determine it for yourself. It may be easier to do so once you know more about stem-cell research, by doing objective research and forming your own opinion. Here is the link to the 'What is stem-cell research?' question also on the wikianswers website: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_difference_between_embryonic_stem_cells_and_adult_stem_cells&alreadyAsked=1&rtitle=Stem_cell_research
What is the definition of stem cell research?
The research of undeveloped cells in aborted fetuses. These cells can be inserted into a diseased or abnormal part of a person's body and they can develop into whatever kind of cell they're surrounded by. This can repair and heal the affected area.
a stem cell line is a group of stem cells that has the ability to produce one specific type of cell. for example, one stem cell line could have the ability to produce a kidney, while another line could produce a liver.
Partisan refers to a strong supporter or advocate of a particular cause, group, or party. In a political context, partisans are individuals who are firmly aligned with a specific political party or ideology and are dedicated to promoting its interests. The term can also describe someone who exhibits bias or prejudice in favor of a particular viewpoint, often to the detriment of objectivity or impartiality.
Why is there a stem cell debate?
The debate you refer to is about the ethics of embryonicstem cell research. This involves harvesting stem cells from a fertilised egg, once it has reached the Blastocyst stage- not an embryo yet. Many Christians see this as killing a human life. Now it is possible to produce stem cells using the same process as cloning. This can produce stem cells which match the DNA of the recipient. As long as cloning human beings is not the aim (and it is not) then I see nothing unethical about this. One of the deseases stem cell researchers are trying to find a cure for is Diabetes. It may well be possible , using stem cells, to coax the pancreas into producing its own insulin. Standard Leftist Propaganda and opinion (not factual): The multinational pharmacutical industry does not want this to happen. The production of insulin is a multi- billion dollar industry. The Christian right and the media have happily supported them, launching a massive propaganda campaign against stem cell research. They hippocritically talk of ethics while actively keeping people sick, so they can continue to profit from them. Barack Obama has said he intends to reverse the anti-stem cell legislation and funding cuts imposed by the Bush administration. I hope he can find the money to do it, and get past the Republicans' filibusting.
What you mean by stem cell culture?
Stem cell culture refers to the process of growing and maintaining stem cells in a laboratory setting. This involves providing the necessary conditions, such as specific growth factors and nutrients, to support the proliferation and differentiation of stem cells. Stem cell culture is essential for research, drug development, and regenerative medicine applications.
What does effecting a running change mean?
Effecting a running change refers to making alterations to a product or process without stopping production. This allows the changes to be gradually implemented while production continues. Running changes are typically made to address issues, improve quality, or enhance functionality without disrupting operations.
Should the government fund stem cell research?
This is a great question, but ouch! This is a hot topic and some people are for it and some are not. People as a whole need to do more research on the matter as I have and found that some people think scientists are killing fetus'. They use the after birth as well and the umbilical cord. One can't make a genuine decision when it would help so many people with MS, etc., without knowledge. If science can keep it's moral standards up then there is no reason the government shouldn't dip into their over abundance of money in their coffers and fund stem cell, BUT organizations should also take up the beat and not put the heavy load on the government alone.
AnswerAlthough some people are for stem-cell research and some are against it that has nothing to do with whether or not the government should fund it. If there were advances to be made the private sector would be pouring money into research. Not to mention that the role of the government is not for funding this type of thing. The founding fathers are probably turning around in their graves. Government is getting way too big. They should run the military, the highway system etc.How does the Internet impact people's lives?
The Internet, the world´s largest representative electronic network, is part of the panorama of the new information and communications technologies, interacting with social practices and with the very historical evolution of complex societies.
According to Computer Industry Almanac Inc., more than 625 million computers are used worldwide, including some 182 million in the United States. A study done in 2000 by that same company reported that more than 400 million people across the globe use the Internet, up from a mere 3 million in 1994. That number could reach 1 billion by 2005

Why does it matter if Obama is Black or not?
It doesn't matter if he's black. It matters how well his job is done.
However, since we do not live in a color-blind society, some people may attribute some of his decisions to his ethnicity, while others have attributed the fact that he won the election to his being black.
He is also the first Black President of the United States. Many Black people view this as a greater step towards equality.
== == == == The following answer is provided by someone who does not have bipolar. People with bipolar are people and they're all different. Some do fine without meds.
from below .. "If she suddenly becomes super happy one moment and then flies into rages or becomes extremely depressed" sorry, it doesn't work like that. --
If this woman is not seeking therapy or on medication I am sorry to say that you are in for the ride of your life if she doesn't follow doctor's orders. SHE MUST take her medications according to doctor's instructions and if she does she should just be fine and the only problems you both should have are normal ones. If she persists on not taking medications or playing around with her dosage without seeing her doctor then don't be afraid to talk to her and tell her to smarten-up. 75% of people that are on some type of medication don't listen to their doctor and don't work with their doctor to adjust dosages and they will often quit the medication (some medications shouldn't be dramatically stopped) or adjust the dosage themselves as they see fit. Go into this relationship with eyes wide open and if you are committed to her then realize you need to communicate well. If she suddenly becomes super happy one moment and then flies into rages or becomes extremely depressed you know something is up and she is either not taking her medications or the dose needs to be adjusted. DON'T BE AFRAID to suggest this to her! If she isn't willing to work with her doctor or look after herself then you are going to have make a decision as to whether you want to stay in a relationship with her. People who suffer from brain chemistry disorders are not abnormal people and with some understand re bi-polar there is no reason you couldn't have a good relationship together. Some people feel being on especially a medication for a condition of the brain such as depression (includes bi-polar) etc., is a weakness and it is no different than having diabetes or some other illness. Not so long ago (and even today it can happen) people often will look their nose down at a person with a mental condition. It's sad because the person looking their nose down at the person is ignorant and knows little about this mental condition and it hurts the person that has it. Thus, they feel different and don't always feel they are like anyone else. If all of us were honest in ourselves we each have a flaw in our personality that could possibly need correcting by a therapist or even in some cases medications. There are many people walking around in society that don't even know they are depressed. Although I didn't suffer from bi-polar (can be genetic) I did suffer from panic attacks and Agoraphobia years ago. I had gone through a bad divorce, was working hard, remarried a few years later to a wonderful man and then my father suffered a debilitating stroke. I basically burned the candle at both ends. At this time when I got the panic attacks little was known about it and I had to leave my job (couldn't cope.) The company I worked for was wonderful and gave me full pay for the whole year, but I had to be fair about it and I gave up my job. It devastated me. To make a long story short, I did eventually find a doctor that knew all about panic attacks, was put on an antidepressant and I've been fine ever since. I no longer have to be on antidepressants because while I was on them I also took counseling and learned "Cognitive Therapy" techniques as tool to deal with stress. I now eat well, exercise and fill my head with more up-lifting things and so when the rotten things in life hit me between the eyes I can handle it and I'm a much stronger person today than I was before. For those that couldn't understand my illness I knew within myself I was a good person, strong in spirit, prayed every night and I can tell you honestly that I didn't get well alone, but faith in God got me through it. I do believe in miracles! I was lucky to have support from family and friends and one wonderful husband, but I too worked hard to get better. I feel I have much more empathy towards people and can understand their problems and have more patience when they aren't always kind to me. I think you should give this relationship a shot. Talk to her about it. Go on the computer and ask about bi-polar because I believe when you learn about something then it's not such a mystery and so frightening. Good luck
Why are some people nasty to people with disabilities?
It is certainly not at all funny to tell jokes about those with Down Syndrome and other special needs. How would you like it if people made fun of you for a medical condition that you can't help? People with Down Syndrome or other forms of mental retardation can be very loving, wonderful people and should be treated with as much respect as anyone else.
What would they do if slaves refused food?

What are some opinions about if Barack Obama is a bad person?
First, this question calls for a moral judgment, which we are in no position to make. None of us is qualified to say whether President Obama is a bad person-- to our knowledge, he has broken no laws and despite the usual talk radio political accusations, he has committed no crimes. He loves his family, he gives to charity, he is good to his friends, etc. Thus, it is not accurate to say he is a bad person. But if you are asking whether President Obama is a bad president, certainly his political enemies, and the people who did not vote for him would say he has done a bad job. What follows are some answers from other users about whether he has done a bad job, and whether he is a bad person.
Some opinions:
Regardless of how you think he is at being President, there is absolutely no reason to believe that he is a bad person. He comes off as a very good person to most of America. He treats his family with respect and seems to care deeply for them. He shows concern for those who struggle and are impoverished. He stands up for the American people and is working to better protect the middle class from carrying the full load in the current economy.
He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize which is given to people who have done extraordinarily good things. The prize is awarded under strict criteria and with very accomplished other nominees considered at the same time. He obviously came out on top with experts believing he is a good person. The prize is awarded to those who have "done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses." The Nobel Peace Prize is sometimes called "the world's most prestigious prize."
He has done very good things for America during his term in office. See the related question below for a list of accomplishments and determine for yourself how he is at being President. Everyone needs to find out the facts and think for themselves, do not go by hearsay, myth and hyperbole, research for yourself.
His political work as President is also considered very good by the majority of Americans. He currently, in early 2013, has an exceptionally high rating by the American people in the polls. He won re-election showing that the people were behind what he had been doing and believe that he is a good president. His approval rating is much higher than most recent presidents came close to achieving, currently at 55% approval.

What percentage of eligible voters voted in the 2010 election?
According to the Washington Post, "Overall, turnout in the midterm elections was projected at 42 percent of registered voters, about 1.2 percentage points higher than in 2006." (It should be noted that even though there was a slightly larger turnout than in 2006, about 58% of voters stayed home.) Also, according to most polls, the makeup of the electorate this time was different: there was a large "enthusiasm gap," such that Republicans voted in larger percentages than Democrats did; also, younger voters decreased, as did minority voters; and older voters, as well as white voters, came out in larger numbers than in 2008.
82.5 million people voted, many of whom were spurred by anger over the lingering recession. But it is worth noting that this number was far fewer than the more than 131 million people who voted in the presidential election of 2008-- generally, presidential elections bring out a much greater number of voters than midterm elections do.
What percent of Obama's voters were black?
In the 2012 presidential election, approximately 93% of black voters supported Barack Obama.
