Who invented the first primitive electric battery called the voltaic cell?
Alessandro Volta (1745-1827) invented the voltaic cell, the first electric battery, in 1800.
Is a breitling a 225362 battery operated?
Yes it is and the side buttons will only work ten feet under warter as it is used by pressure not battery the battery is only used to operate time and has a market value of £7000 rated best watch in the world with a battery life of 5 years and life time guarantee
Battery number SW927SW or equivalent 399 / 395.
Can a class c felon go to Mexico?
Anyone looking toescape the US can go to Mexico. They have no strict importation laws on anything, anyone.
Added: However. . . Mexico DOES have an extradition treaty with the US.
How many volts are there in a fully charged 12 volt battery?
Fully charged it should read 12.6 volts with a digital volt meter. 12.4 = 75% charge, 12.2 = 50%, 12.0 = 25%.
Why don't batteries work in space?
Some batteries [dry cells and gell cells, if properly sealed] do work in space. On the other hand, unsealed batteries containing liquid electrolyte [like the battery acid in automobile batteries], when exposed to the zero [or near zero] atmospheric pressure in space, lose the liquid electrolyte by almost immediate evaporation. And without the electrolyte a battery cannot function.
Is a flashlight a wet cell or a dry cell?
Generally we call them dry cells. However, the electrolyte in an alkaline cell is fairly liquid, so it may be a case of the technology outstripping the terminology.
The old 'dry cell'/'wet cell' division really is no longer valid. We talk of 'primary cells' for cells that cannot be recharged, and 'secondary cells' for those that can.
When buying a car battery in Ghana we normally request for a 15 or 17 plate battery why so?
It depends on the exact model you need, different car request different size of battery, normally like jeep, we use 75 AHS or 100 AHS, and these two size we normally the plates installed inside are around 15-17. hope it helps.
Can you use regular water in a 6 volt battery?
It is not good to use tap water in any battery, no matter what voltage. You should use distilled water only.
How do i wire two 12 volt car batteries to make one 24 volt battery?
To get 24 volts from two 12 volt batteries, hook the positive post from one battery to the negative post of the other.
Define Maximum power point tracking of solar cell under partial shading conditions?
in shading conditions also the solar raditions will reach the earth i think this will not effect the solar panels and also the mppt in shading conditions also the solar raditions will reach the earth i think this will not effect the solar panels and also the mppt
Can you have a domestic battery expunged in Arkansas?
It's theoretically possible to have any conviction expunged, but it doesn't happen very often. For an arrest or conviction to be expunged, the petitioner has to show the court that either a substantial legal error occurred (such as a false arrest), or that justice would be best served by "erasing" the offense. This is occasionally done after a substantial time (many years) has passed since the offense, and the accused has led an exemplary life in the interim. It isn't done just because the accused finds it inconvenient to have that conviction on his record.
Added: THEORETICALLY being the keyword. While it may be possible to APPLY to expuinge this offense, I do not believe that it is possible in ANY jurisdiction to expunge a domestic violence charge.
They are treated as serious criminal events. The Lautenberg amendment addresses Domestic Violence offenders in the same way as if the perpetrators were convicted felons.
What is a group of batteries called?
Actually a battery is a group of cells.
Sometimes a group of batteries might be called a battery bank.
What charger do you need for a 12v motorcycle battery?
Any good 12 volt battery charger that puts out around 10 amps. Make sure it is an automatic charger. The same charger you use on an auto battery can be used on a motorcycle battery.
Will playing a 3ds while it's charging damage the battery life?
yes. it is best to play it off charge, and to unplug it when charged.
What kind of energy is stored in a battery can be used to produce electric current?
In most cases, chemical energy stored in the battery produces the electric current. Rechargeable batteries are capable of taking electric currents and using them to reverse the chemical reactions, thus gaining more chemical energy that can be used readily.
Is a lithium battery a substitute for a radium battery?
Absolutely not.
While there are radioisotope batteries, radium is too expensive and dangerous for it to be used in them! Most radioisotope batteries use either plutonium-238 or tritium as the radiation source. It can be quite dangerous to handle these batteries. Radioisotope batteries can generate usable electricity for one or two halflives of the isotope and can thus function for years to centuries (or even longer) before going dead. Radioisotope batteries are almost always custom designed for the application and sometimes cannot be replaced as the device using them (e.g. deep space probe, equipment for operation in inaccessible remote sites) will not be operating at a location where any repairs or replacements would be practical.
Lithium batteries are chemical batteries, that generate electricity by electrochemical "corrosion" of plates inside the battery. Primary lithium batteries can go dead in weeks to months. Secondary lithium batteries may not go dead for years, but need to be recharged. Most lithium batteries are designed to be user replaceable.
How many amperes should be used on 8.4v to charge a 1600mAh battery with 9.6v in 35 minutes?
None... only Mah is compatable, if you try to use that charger with different voltage you're probably gunna break your battery. Buy a SMART CHARGER! JESUS! THEY'RE ONLY 25$!
Under normal use, it is very unlikely that a 1.5v dry cell will explode.
However, trying to charge a non-rechargeable battery, can make it explode.
The charging current causes gas to form in the electrolyte, which puts pressure on the case, which is usually non-vented. The increased pressure can cause the case to explode.
There have been chargers made, that will increase the life of single use cells, by charging them. These have a very small charging current, with long charge time, that does not allow gasses to build up.
Trying to fast charge a rechargeable battery will also make it explode, for the same reasons.
It is best to use only the charger specified for use with the type of battery. The charge currents (and even temperature monitoring) are built into intelligent chargers, to give the optimum charge without fear of explosion.
Can I split a 9 V battery into two 4.5 V batteries for two LEDs?
A 9V alkaline battery will have six 1.5 V cells. These are like short AAAA cells. If you can find a tube the right size, put 3 cells end to end to get two 4.5V batteries. There are some single LED penlights now that use AAAA cells. Perhaps adjust the length (copper spacer), and a 9V is easier to find than an AAAA.
There is a link to a site below where you can get penlights.
A 9 V carbon-zinc usually has six rectangular sandwiches held together with a shrink wrap tube that also maintains contact pressure.
A 9 V round battery has 6 round sandwich cells.
I don't think I've seen these in alkaline. These are about 2x the capacity of the rectangular, or about 1 Ah.
An easier way would be to wire the two LEDs in series. As you wire more devices in series, the drain on the battery is the same, but the voltage is split between the devices.
----- a caution ---
different color LEDs have different forward voltage drops
IR perhaps 1.5 V
visible ~2V-3V
UV perhaps 4.5V
this voltage is quantum physics and the PN junction
white LEDs are florescent lamps ( UV LEDs exciting RGB phosphors )
the cheapie 9 LED flashlight usually parallels the 4.4V UV LEDs
with 3 AAA cells in series and no dropping resistor.

I wonder if it's possible to insert internal wiring into the battery to turn it into a pair of 4.5V batteries in parallel? TBH I'd rather investigate using 3 AAAA (or other size) cells in an appropriate holder from the start than try dismantling batteries. I think it would be more reliable.
---
never parallel cells
they must be identical or the weaker one will be charged by the stronger
a+b< 2a+2b/2
if you have room use AA instead of AAA
cells in series work pretty well but for some reason the + cell seems to drain first
