No. Ben Franklin did not invent water skies, but he did invent swim fins.

As many of you know Benjamin Franklin was a very good inventor. But its sad that most people don't know that Benjamin Franklin was a delegate. A delegate is a person who went out from there state when the original thirteen colonies were formed.They sent out delegates because everybody thought of their state as one country. they all used different money. Ben Franklin was one of the delegates who went out to Philladelphia to work out what they should do. Rhode Island is the only state who didn't send delegates.

I think he is a good choice. He served long and well as a founding father who made the Revolution a success and set up the new constitutional government for the United States. He was also noted as a scientist, inventor and humorous writer.

He has been dead long enough that he is not likely to invite any new controversies.

Franklin loved to read, but with only 2 years of school he had to teach himself to write. He found stories he liked and rewrote them from memory. Others became poetry and then turned into stories. When he was 16 he wrote 14 letters to his brothers newspaper and they were published. He used the pen name Silence Dogood. In 1732 he wrote his Poor Richards almanac and it was an immediate success. For the next 26 years one was published and sold 10,000 copies every year. He wrote many things in his life including articles for his newspaper and an autobiography and a book called The Way to Wealth in 1757. Between 1765-1775 he wrote 126 newspaper stories.

Franklin was appointed by the Continental Congress as an Ambassador to France. Where he spent most of the War lobbying the French government for funds and aide for the American forces. Prior to France he was in England attempting to secure rights and freedoms for the American colonists.

They are Founding Fathers because they played an important part in the founding of the Unites States. However, they are not the only people considered Founding Fathers. There were a great many and any attempt to make a list would surely miss some.

Benjamin Franklin was a man of enormous accomplishment in many different areas of life; he was a scientist (who explored the nature of lightning), a diplomat and politician, a publisher and writer. He did great things. This makes him a great role model. Perhaps you too can do great things.

The meaning, in brief, is that if we prevent a problem occurring in the first place, it will save a great deal more in time, effort and cost than it would in trying to repair the damage done later because we hadn't paid attention to possible problems earlier.

For example, in order to prevent or minimize the possibility of food poisoning, we take simple measures like washing our hands before meals and washing our food, if it's raw, or boiling it, if it has been long-standing lukewarm in order to kill potential bacteria, that will save a great deal more pain, time and effort than if we become ill as a result of neglecting those few simple, preventative measures.

Therefore, a little preparation to keep something from going wrong in the first place is better than having to do a lot of work to fix it once it breaks - better to prevent a problem from occurring than to fix it afterwards. Another example is that it's easier to ensure tires/tyres are properly inflated than to replace a blowout, and risk an accident, caused by low pressure.
