What is the problem if a BMW 320i won't start and has no spark at all?

1. It sounds like you may have a Flat Battery

2. Dead Crankshaft Sensor

3. Blown Starter Fuse or Relay

4. Dead Immobiliser

5. Factory ground cable???

Using a test light, clip check for ground at coil (-). If ground is present with the key in the "on" position but goes away when cranking, it is most likely that the anti-theft system (imobilzer) is taking ground away from the coil to prevent the car from being started. If this is the case, go to the alarm module (below the dash to the left of the steering wheel) and locate the large connector for it (leave it plugged in). If you jump wire the upper and lower far right wires, the car should start. If the car now starts, you have a fault in the anti-theft circuit.

(Factory Ground Cable)

I had my 1982 BMW 320i for 17 years and the last few years intermittently I would turn the key and nothing at all , Just would not start,. It could be the very first thing in the morning or after coming out of an hours shopping at the market. Wouldn't make any sound at all when I would try to start it. And of course It would never happen when it sat at the mechanics. I was so fed up I had some time and drove to my long time friends shop, and low and be hold with gods help I'm sure...It happened! After testing a few things under the hood he asked me to step out of my car and raised it on the rack, he walked under the rear wheel and said yep here's the problem...The Factory Ground Cable was lose and full of dirt and grease and was not grounding. He cleaned all the dirt and grime off and tightened the bolt and it never happened again. Mystery solved.

How do you remove a fan from a 1995 BMW 325i?

Use a 32mm spanner put it behind the fan. Then hit the spanner, a few short beats with an hammer TO THE RIGHT!!!It's a left hand thread. If the fan is released you can turn it manually. But take care for the thermostat-shell. Don't damage it by hammering on it with the spanner.

Is there a sound difference between a 1.6 liter engine with a carb and the same engine but fuel injected?

could be the sound of the air being drawn in that's different ie carb'd systems with no airbox or if they are flat side carburettors, the rattling sound alone is enough to tell you its got flatsides or the engine is damaged.

How do you add freon to a 2001 BMW 325Ci?

buy 2 cans of R134 and thetool with hose with a pierce and control knob. Crank engine, cut AC on high blower and windows closed. Find the low side drier cannister and filler service port. Attach can hose to low side fill port- turn knob clockwise to puncture can and counter clockwise to release freon into system. Watch and feel drier as it will be getting cold - or should be. If you have poor AC then one can may do the trick. Be careful after that -that you do not add too much from another can. If you can get 40 degree air out of the vents you are doing goood. Too much freon can damage the compressor in cooler weather if you use the AC. type in RS12A on your search engine. It's an alternative gas.

How do you change a rear coil spring on a 1998 Kia Sportage?

Jack up the rear of the vehical and support it on jack stands from the FRAME, not the axel. From here, there are two possible choices. If the old spring is broken, simply pull it out by hand, if it hasn't already fallen out. To install the new spring, either use spring compressors (typically used for struts) to compress the new spring down enough to fit between the axle and the frame, or remove the shock on the side you are working on, while supporting the axle with a jack. Once the shock is removed (it is only necessary to remove 1 end), lower the axle enough using the jack to allow the new spring to fit. Raise the axle in place, reinstall the shock, and lower the vehicle .

Why the trunk open warning light stays on The trunk is very secure However to make matters worse the convertible top will not come down because it thinks the trunk is open?

You may have a Mercedes and the trunk warning light has been known to stay on where you can't put the top down. Try opening the trunk and slamming it shut. The problem may be the pneumatic supply pump (PSE) which is supposed to pull the trunk all the way down.

The BMW 3-Series uses the human soul as fuel, when it jumps, it's actually ripping your soul out of your body.

Can you interchanger a bumper from a 1989 325is to a 1987 BMW 325e 2dr?

that depends. does your 325e have a aluminum bumper or a plastic bumper? if it has the aluminum bumper, you should order new bumper shocks for an post face-lift 87 model. post 8/87. the reason? the shocks that fit aluminum bumpers are very long, and if u attach a plastic bumper, it will stick out too far.

if the 325e has a plastic bumper, then everything will be as easy as detaching and re-attaching your bumper.

How do you reset the oil service light manually on a 2000 BMW 323 E46?

Found this on another site. It worked on my E46 2002 Compact.

BMW 2001 to current  Ignition Off (Position 0)  Press and Hold the trip odometer button while turning key to position 1 (ACCESSORY)  Keep the button depressed (about 5 secs.) until you see "Oil Service" or "Inspection" with "Reset" or "Re" in the display*  Press the button again and hold for approx. 5 secs. until "Reset" or "Re" flashes  While the display is flashing, briefly press the button again to reset the Service Interval. After the display has shown the new interval you should see "END SIA" for about 2 seconds Note: that if the "Reset" or "Re" does not flash, then you have not met the minimum consumption level and cannot reset

  • Note: On vehicles with "High" cluster, you will also see the amount of fuel (in litres) remaining until next service
