Yes, that can be one of the possible causes, however if your spedometer is working properly than I would be looking elsewhere, possibly a dirty or plugged tranny filter or burnt fluid.

be carefulf changing the bulbs!! especially the tail lights!! i tried to change my brake light one time and one of the prongs broke in the housing so i had to get a whole new taillight housing it was like 200 dollars for my 99 malibu.....blah. what kind of bulbs are you replacing?

The Cadillac DTS is considered a full size luxury car. Most full size autos will not easily fit into a compact car parking space and the DTS is no exception. Chances are that the car would be too wide and/or too long to fit comfortably in a compact parking space.

Look in the trunk on the drivers side and you should find either a a tab marked gas realease or a thin piece of wire. Its down by where the brake light assembly is in the trunk. Hope this helps! cadillac_guy_84

This particular engine has been noted for its quality. As long as it is correctly maintained then it should last around 200,000 miles before any remedial work is required.

the problem is that the starter is inside the engines of northstars, bad design, only good for cadillac service centers, real rip off cost between $2,000 and $3,000 to have replaced.

look everyone on heres makin it look hard i did both mine in 2 minutes crawl under your car reach behind the light turn it pull it toss it get the new one but dont touch the glass the oils on your skin will make it break when they get hot so where gloves insert the new bulb lock it in DONE!

3 to 4 years is average. But I have seen batteries last as little as 2 years and as long as 7 years. Know that every time you run a battery down you shorten it's life.

Its on the throttle body, the thing your accelerator linkage attaches to it senses position of the blade inside and sends signal to computer. Usually 2 screws and a plug in connector. For safety reasons the screws will be very hard to remove without damage, let a pro do it. Sensors are fairly cheap.

The speed is electronically controlled by the PCM. Its set at the factory depending on the tires installed on the car when new. This is so you cannot over speed the tires. So, read the speed rating off the tires on the car like 97S, H or Z etc. Deduct about 20% and this will give you an approximate idea how fast it will go per the factory defaults. My Deville shuts down at 112 m.p.h. because it has comfort tires not performance tires.
