You may have accidentally deleted them. But it should be no problem at all to get them back. Many cameras have a setting A or Av that lets you change the f-stop and the camera will change the shutter speed automatically.

Start with replacing the batteries. Get good quality Lithium batteries, the ones that cost as much as 12 of the others. Many camera's require these High output type of batteries to run correctly.

Still not running, depends on the camera. If it's a high end digital SLR take it to a camera shop, a few of those still exist. If it is your 150 special, pull the memory card and recycle the camera, time to upgrade. I just bought a Kodak Ai6 HD camcorder, very easy to use. Takes pictures, or HD video. 180$ with a 8GB stick (1 Hour HD video, 160 minutes Video or more pictures than I will take in the life of the camera). I bring the video home, and burn / edit strate to DVD's.

a 5 second pan seems to be very long but this and other day time too bright circumstances are best met with the use of neutral density filters. I would recommend lee or conkin filter systems rather than screw-on.

If your film speed is 200 or higher, you may be able to fix the problem with an ISO rating of 100 or less. Not sure if Fuji's 50 ISO Velvia is available anymore, but your local professional camera store may be able to assist, especially if you're shooting B&W.

P.S. - I see nothing wrong with a quality screw mount filter; especially if:

- you don't want to buy into a whole system, including a holder

- the front end of your lenses rotate during focusing (watch for falling filters!)

- you only need this one filter occasionally

The concept behind mobile phone cameras and digital cameras are fundamentally the same, but as far as their components go, digital cameras remain superior. Camera phones can come close to the megapixel count of digital cameras (some mobile phones in Japan sport higher than 16MP cameras), but they can't really match other components like lenses, apertures, flash, and sensors.

The main reason is that some components require more space than a mobile phone can allow.
