We purchased a Nimrod tent trailer which we think had been built in the 1950's in ~1980 and paid $150 for it. We still have the trailer, which, not surprisingly, has needed several repairs over the years (e.g., reinforce a partially rusted bottom; replace U-shaped bolt holding the axle on; etc. So many times we came close to losing the trailer due to these structural weaknesses along the way, but we always managed to get it back home to be able to repair it). We've replace the stop lights and unfortuantely, pained over the original tan color (we decorated with "sea water" patterns about 15 years ago, so that it could be the base of a float in a Fourth of July parade--it needed a paint job anyway. Original canvas is still intact, but we had to replace all of the screen windows. I think we got our $150 worth out of it! Our children are grown now and don't show much interest in camping, so we may sell it one of these days. When we go camping now, all we need is our large pop-up back-packing tent, which was our older kids' "bedroom" when we had the Nimrod tent to ourselves and "the baby." BTW, our Nimrod went as far west as Glacier NP, as far east as Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and as far south as Knoxville. Given that many prices have gone up at least 10-fold since 1980, I imagine our trailer is worth MORE than the $150 we paid for it. My guess is that you could sell your trailer for something between $150 and $1,000, depending on the condition. If I were to try to price my trailer, I would probably look at what small hard-sided pop-up trailers sell for, and price mine at about half that price. On the other hand it IS a classic...

Many types of gases can set an LP detector off. Hair spray, spray adhesives, dog farts (seriously!). But two other things can make an LP detector make noise. One is the campers battery is getting low. The other is the detector needs to be replaced. Replace it only if you are sure it is not one of the other two problems.

Be prepared -take 'em both! If you lose one "set of eyes", you'll still have the other!

A camping footprint is designed to go outside, and underneath the tent. Additionally if the footprint was purchased with the tent, it will often be the exact shape of the tent and will have holes in the corners which the tent poles are often designed to go through, securing the footprint in place. When the footprint is under the tent it should help to prevent the bottom of the tent from getting wet.
