Can you put a bala shark in with your red ear slider turtle?
No way!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The shark will eat it! Don't even take the chance!!
Mainly green, leafy vegetables (cabbage, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower leaves etc) - they'll also eat fruit such as apples and grapes. If you have dandelions growing where you are - they'll also eat those (as a treat) - both leaves and flowers.
Do California king snakes eat fish?
Kingsnakes are very oppurtunistic predators, however I cannot recall a case of them eating fish. They may, but in any case it's not the preferred meal.
Salmon is one of the fish they eat
What temp do i need to keep my pet mouse?
Here are the things you will need to keep a pet mouse:
1. A cage. The cage should be just the right size for 1 mouse to move around. Obviously, you would want a bigger cage if your keeping multiple mice.
2. Food made specifically for mice. Just fill up the food dish whenever it looks empty.
3. Bedding for the cage. You can use the commercial "odor-block" bedding or just plain old shaved pine. Make sure you choose bedding that does not attract bugs. Do not use cedar. Although cedar keeps the pests away, it can cause respiratory problems. Change the bedding 2x a week. It's also a good idea to scrub down the cage every now and again.
4. A food dish and a water bottle. Test the water bottle with your finger to make sure it's working correctly. Be sure to scrub the food dishes when it's starting to look dirty.
5. An exercise wheel. You don't want a fat mouse, do you?
6. Patience. It takes time to build a bond with the animal. Try to hand feed it. It'll get used to you eventually. It's a good idea to give the mouse fresh fruit as a snack. This would be a nice break from the regular mouse food. Don't feed them sweets or cheese. This can make them have the "runs".

How long can a pet desert turtle live without food or water?
The pet desert can survive without eating for a few months.
Young turtles and turtle eggs are favorite foods of many small carnivores, including seabirds, coyotes, raccoons, and even crawfish, to name just a few. For smaller species of turtles, the shell is adequate protection against most predators, although crocodiles and humans are able to eat them. Large tortoises have no predators except humans.
Do snakes lay eggs in water or on land?
No. Some snakes give birth to live young. Reptiles cannot lay their eggs in water. Aquatic reptiles must either give birth to live young, as sea snakes do, or crawl up on land to lay eggs. as sea turtles do.
How do you find a lost baby turtle in your home?
I don't know how long ago you asked this question, but hopefully you've found your turtle since then! Be sure to look in all nooks and crannys - and under furniture, even if you think the spaces aren't big enough for your turtle to fit. They like dark, and will head for the shadows. I've found mine in the back of closets, and behind large wall units. Sometimes quite a chore to get them out! Good Luck!
Mainly small rodents such as mice and small rats. They may also eat small lizards and sometimes smaller snakes. They are known to be cannibals and may eat a smaller kingsnake. Sometimes they eat small bird eggs, like those of finches, pigeons, and most songbirds. They will even eat baby birds, if flightless or not mature enough to fly.
Are pythons safe to keep as a pet?
Pythons are safe to keep as a pet. You just need to be more cautious then with other snakes when your python gets to be five feet or longer. I have a ball Python and they are safe because they do not get to big but there are bigger kinds.
Why wont your California king snake eat when its about to shed?
Most snakes lose their appetite when they're shedding - simply because their eyesight isn't as good, due to the brille (transparent eye covering) clouding over. It's perfectly normal behaviour, and your snake should regain its appetite once it's shed.
Do cold blooded animals feel pain?
It would depend on the cold blooded animal you are talking about.
If you are talking about reptiles and amphibians, it is likely that they feel pain to some degree.
If you are talking about fish, it is very debatable. Some studies state that they do feel pain, but some say they do not. This is because the brain of a fish is very different from that of a mammal, being brainstem dominated. Many behavioural studies have provided some evidence that they do indeed feel pain, though those studies have been debatable.
If you are talking about invertebrates (which are all cold blooded), the current evidence seems to favour that the majority do not feel pain, as they lack a spinal cord and cortex. However, there is behavioural evidence of pain in several invertebrate species. Examples include Gastropods (i.e. snails and slugs) that belong to clade Heterobranchia (such as the garden snail and slug), decapod crustaceans (ex. crabs, lobsters, shrimp) and flies belonging to the family Drosophila. All three of these examples have had at least one species demonstrate operant conditioning to negative stimuli. Octopuses have fairly large brains and appear to have nociceptors, and there is some evidence that they feel pain. However, evidence is scant for other invertabrates. Additionally, not only is there absence of evidence of pain in the majority of insects, but there is also evidence of absence of pain in them (ex. injured insects don't limp, locusts continue normal activity while being eaten).
What does a water dragon do for fun?
While reptiles do have emotions, they do not have complex emotions the way birds and mammals do. As a result...they do not play. They don't have any reason to. Reptiles spend most of their time contentedly moving from the cooler to the warmer side of their cage, to regulate their body temperature.
Water dragons do appear to enjoy swimming and bathing themselves in their water pool, so I suppose that may count as 'fun' for them--it is an activity they seem to find enjoyable. Disturbingly for their owner, they may sink to the bottom, close their eyes, and go into oxygen conservation mode. This makes them appear dead, but they're actually fine. They can stay down for a LONG time this way.
They will also dig burrows, if given the proper materials, but that can get terribly messy.
Water dragons also appear to enjoy hunting their live insect prey.
Always remember that reptiles are not like mammals or birds--they don't like company, and everything they enjoy doing is part of their wild behavior. They never actually like being handled, nor do they really like their owner--they may like the treats their owner offers, though. You can just tell your water dragon's REAL opinion from that sidelong stare he gives you.... <lol>
What should you name your frog?

How often do you feed your baby red eared turtle?
I have two red-eared sliders, and a yellow-bellied slider. I feed them once a day, everyday. I feed them all at the same time--in the morning. It is usually between 6-7am during the school year, or 9-12am over summer break. I use turtle food bought from Pet Smart. In it is mini sticks (scientist made stuff,) mini shrimp, and baby krill. My turtles eat a lot for their size(1inch in diameter)--about 15-20 pieces.
How can you estimate the age of a tortoise?
There is an old wives tail that "the rings in the shell of the tortoise could be used for assessing the age of the tortoise." This is not true, because their growth is based on diet. It is impossible to actually know the exact age of a turtle or tortoise unless you knew its birth date.
What is the righ size tank for one beard dragon?
It depends on how big you water dragon is...
A baby would need a 29 gal tank atleast...and adult needs a custom built tank because you really cannot buy one that's big enough...
My water dragon has a cage that's 3 feet wide, 4 feet tall and 3 feet deep....
They not only need lenght to run with, but they LOVE to climb, so they need height too...
A 55 gal tank is a good lenght but it gives them no where to climb...
I know many people who get shower setup's full shower that you can buy from home depot's their full grown dragon's need A LOT of space...
If you are thinking about getting a dragon and can't make it/buy it a large enough tank...then you may want to reconsider...
If you are willing to build a cage big enough but cannot do it for a year or so, then get a 29 gal tank and get a baby..
hope that helps
How can you tell the sex of a five lined skink?
If it is fully mature you can easily tell the difference. Adult males have faded stripes and a red head, while females still have very bright stripes and very bright blue tails, just like their young. I have 2 baby skinks right now and I have been trying to figure out their gender, but they are so young nobody knows yet. Once they get older you can tell though. :)

Can you keep a turtle in a 5 gallon tank?
how big is the turtle if its a baby take it back to were ever you got it it might have selaminella( if that's how you spell it )if they wont take it back then try getting a 10 gallon a 5 gallon will work but its to small. what kind of turtle is it? average turtles grow a little more then 12 inches and that's just the shell if its a red eared slider you will need a pond my advice is take it to your local pet store ask a associate if you can leave it there (petco has adoptions) obviously you don't know what your doing so you shouldn't keep it and next time do research before you get a pet
Yup! Mine does i whenever he happens to fall on his back, it just might take them a few seconds. After 10 seconds of struggle you should intervene and help your turtle.
I am going to assume you meant either 'what is it made of' or 'how is it formed' so I will answer this way to hopefully answer your question either way...
It is actually a part of the skeletal structure of the turtle and grows with the turtle as it grows, much the same as our ribs (which is what the shell of a turtle is) would grow when we grow. It is mostly bone with some cartilaginous growth. This is why we recommend you do not use paints, glues, or markers to decorate a turtle since it can weaken or even damage the shell, maybe not immediately but over time it could cause great harm to the turtle or tortoise...
