What hole is the anus on female cat?

The hole immediately under the tail. That is the same hole as on a male cat. Only the genitals are different, not the digestive system.

Why do cats move their kittens?

Mother cats will start moving their kittens when they think that their babies are in danger. This is usually the case when the owners allow their guests or their children to pick up the newborns. This is not something that should be allowed for at least a couple of weeks although they are so cute! The mother cat will drag them to a dark place somewhere least expected like the corner of a closet or a basement, she will carry them one by one in her mouth to a safer place then where they were before.

Can a neutered cat still produce kittens?

Can you teach a cat to do tricks?

There are a lot of misconceptions about cats, but in actuality cats are as intelligent as dogs and perhaps even more so. However, they have a more independent nature that most cat owners readily recognize, relate to, and love. That said, with the right technique, you can teach your cat to sit, walk on a leash, etc. However, don't expect to train a cat like you would a dog. A good source of instruction to use when training your cat is Chapter 5 of "How To Get Your Cat to do What you Want," by Warren and Fay Eckstein.

Speaking from personal experience, I've trained my two kittens to sit up on their hind legs for their food. I did this by letting them first smell the plate of food. Then I raised the plate above their heads and asked them to "sit up." After only a couple of tries, they sat up. After this, I rewarded them with the plate of food. Believe me, it's not as difficult as you may think to train a cat. Always go with positive reinforcement.

actually there are a lot of things you can teach your cat how to sit lie down wave and lots more! you can find these answers and much more in Show Biz Tricks For Cats by Anne Gordon really they work!

Why does your cat keep mieowing?

Some cats have that for their normal voice but maybe it has throat problems. A hoarse purr should be normal, though.

How can I find out if my cat is a male or female?

If your cat is intact (not spayed/neutered) and very young, it may be difficult to tell. However, if you feel around the genital area, below the anus, a male cat will have two lumps indicating testes. A female will not have testicles and instead had a vaginal opening that can be seen a short distance below the anus. In an older intact cat the testicles will be more pronounced and easy to see. A female's vagina will also be darker and more pronounced.

In an altered cat, a male will not have testicles, but will also lack a vagina. A spayed female cat will still have a vagina.

If you are still confused on how to tell the gender of your cat, I'm sure if you ask a breeder or veterinarian they will be able to quickly tell.

Here's also a link with more detail (and pictures) to help you determine the sex of your cat. http://www.vetmed.wsu.edu/ClientED/kittengender.aspx

How do you get rid of urine stains on your lawn?

There is a product called Nature's Miracle that you can but in grocery stores that will help get stains out. Also, Awesome is very good at getting stains out. If you plan to have dogs for a while I would invest in a small carpet cleaner.

Can your cat eat diarrhea?

What to do if you have a kitten with a dead mother?

If I were you I would go to a veterinarian to get advice. But if you can't soon enough I would try to give him/her milk from a bottle, (when their kittens they usually can't see until older). And try your best until your able to go to the vet.**also i would try to keep him/her very warm because she/he is used to the heat from its mother**

How can you stop rubbing your tongue on your teeth due to stress?

You need to see a dentist trained by OBI - Orognathic Bioesthetic International. I have been through the program (designed for people with TMJ problems which includes cheek chewers as your TMJ is inflamed from all of the chewing). I was a cheek chewer for 25 years and this worked!! It is a problem with your bite - the way your teeth come together that causes you to want to chew. The teeth are not all touching equally or optimally and so your brains wants to put something between them. This is not a psychological problem or a nervous habit, it is just a problem with your bite. The OBI program optimally aligns your bite (the great thing too is that you end up looking like you've had cosmetic dentistry done) and restores your teeth to their optimal shape so that they all connect correctly. After my teeth were "restored", my compulsion to chew just slowed dramatically and then stopped within a few weeks of the program. Must be an OBI dentist though, there are not a ton of them.

I have this horrible habit as well. I take enjoyment out of biting the inside of my cheeks, the inside of my lips, the lips themselves, and the sides of my tongue. It is a horrible habit- and I have been told that it can cause oral cancer- which is something I DO NOT WANT. I tried researching myself on how to get rid of this horrible habit. What I keep reading is chewing a sugar free gum. There is a new skin that grows on the inside of your cheek during the night, and to avoid chewing through that, pop in some gum right when you wake up in the morning. Also if you chew your lips, apply lip gloss or chapstick - that sometimes helps prevent me from biting my lips. Also if you tell a family member or friend to recognize it when you are chewing on your cheeks- so that will help you be more aware of why you do it. It is a habit I have had since I was 9 years old. A Lot of cheek biting comes from stress and being bored. If it is being bored that is making you want to do this, i suggest trying to find a game or a club that you find interesting, this will help take your mind away from wanting to do it. Or if it's stress that's making you want to do it, i suggest that you should start going to a spa every so often, this will help remove your stress and make you feel relaxed.

So try the gum- hope that helps- as for me I am trying to quit as well using gum and it helps a little. Hopefully it will get easier as days go by.

Answer:

I stopped over two months ago. I bit my cheeks for 26 years and I wanted to post to try and help others quit. I bit my cheeks and lips raw when anxious, like most biters. For me, its social anxiety--I would do it on my way to a public place, or worse--in public, or merely at home thinking about other people and places.

Here's what I did:

When I felt the urge come on, I smiled instead--at others, at the room, at myself--it didn't matter, just as long as my mouth was busy. Smiling put my mouth to work, it gave it something to do. It also made me feel better about myself, because I seemed happy, with all that smiling I was doing. Sometimes feeling better in a situation is as simple as that. When the urge got too powerful for smiling, I put gum in my mouth and chewed it like there was no tomorrow. Carry your gum with you everywhere. All my biting urges were completely gone after 48 hours. It was the first 48 hours that were the most difficult.

How do you get your cat to use litter box?

Training a ferret to use the litter pan

A ferret eliminates by raising their tail and backing into a corner, usually always a corner. They will need to go as soon as they wake up. Before you let a ferret out of the cage, wait until they use the litter pan. In the cage, a ferret will not eliminate around their food area, try putting the litter pan in the opposite corners. Ferrets digest food very rapidly, every 3 to 4 hours, so they do eliminate a lot, but they will not go in a dirty litter pan. It must be kept clean, with a little feces left in it (to prevent being played in). When a ferret is out of its cage, it would be helpful to put an additional litter pan(s) in the area. An alternative, put newspaper or dog potty pads in the corners. Whenever you see a ferret backing into the corner, they are going to eliminate. Ferrets don't seem to have the ability to hold it, but try to catch them and put them into the litter tray. When a ferret is successful using the litter pan, use treats and praise as rewards. Never, never hit a ferret for bad behavior or rub their nose in feces, they do not understand.

Advice from other contributors:

* Ferrets are not always as reliable at potty training as cats. Some of the tricks I have tried with my ferrets are using a certain litter, and putting feces in the box to let them know where to go. I use blankets that were previously used to sleep in to put in areas where they should not defecate. It is also important to use a litter box that is low enough for them to get into easily. Some of my ferrets always push the box away and poop next to it. Even after owning ferrets for over 25 years I still don't have all the answers.

* I have been rescuing ferrets for several years and have found that the best solution to getting them to poop in the litter is limit their options.

* I had several who have been known to do anything and everything in their power to go behind or under the litter box.

* Solution - remove the litter box! I traded in cages so that the bottom of the cage is one big plastic tray and the 6' tall wire cage walls rise up from there. I dump about 10 lbs of litter into the bottom after every thorough cleaning, scoop as needed on a daily basis, and replenish low litter levels.Everyone seems to love it!

* When they get their playtime outside of the cage there are paper towels over news papers in every corner they have picked out as 'potty corners' and that all gets picked up and tossed out after each play session. I also found that it is easier if you let them pick out where they go and put the necessary supplies in those corner. I had one ferret who absolutely insisted in going in the bathroom and ONLY in the bathroom, which happened to be an off limits room to them at the time. Once we gave in and let him in he showed us that he wanted to back into the same corner as his mummy and daddy and that was all. Once we did that, he calmed down, he stopped being so agitated and hostile and was a very good little boy!

* Ferrets also have a very quirky sense of humor or perhaps its a design instinct or natural feng shui ability. It has been known that some ferrets will leave a single poop in a random area and if completely cleaned up they will replace it every chance they get! We left paper towels in those corners too, even though no one uses them. We just left them on the floor until company comes over and I picked them up.

* Easily. Ferrets habitually eliminate in a corner, they just do! Position its litter box first in a corner of it's cage & then move it to a corner of the bathroom, etc. or just leave the cage door open. Treat the box as you would a cat's litter box.

* Normally one would train animals by rewarding good behavior. How does one reward a ferret for doing its business in the right place and scold it for doing it in the wrong place? It may gain a complex and try to do its business in places that you can not see it. A ferret will want to be as hygienic as possible. Take advantage of this. Move the litter try to places where it tries to 'eliminate.' Also ensure that the contents of the litter tray are suitable for the critter - some cat litter is unhealthy for the animal and it will avoid it if at all possible.

* Ferrets go in corners, put newspapers in corners and a litter box. If ferrets go on the newspaper, put the poop in the litter box. If you see them backing up in a corner, say no, and put them in the litter box. If they go when you put them in the litter box, praise them. It's as easy as training a puppy.

* Corner-shaped litter boxes are made just for ferrets. Since it is their natural inclination to go in a corner, use corner-shaped litter boxes to make it easier to train. Put the corner-shaped litter box in a corner of the cage or room. * Ferrets can learn to use a litter tray. My ferrets use a litter tray from when we got them and they had never had one before. Some ferrets take longer to learn that they should go to the toilet in the litter tray. But it is possible!!!

How do you make your cat comfortable when dying?

When a cat is in the final stages of terminal illness, and has to be euthanized (put down), you take the cat to the vet. You do NOT euthanize the cat at home, by yourself.

Veterinarians and Animal Care & Control do not just hand out lethal substances to people. No sane person is going to give a complete stranger a dose of poison, and trust that they use it wisely.

You may honestly want your cat to die peacefully and painlessly. But other people are not so sincere, and some of them are actually psychopaths.

What is the best flooring to use for a cat who sometimes urinates on the stairs?

First Answer:

laminant.

Second Answer:

There are many reasons why your cat is urinating on your floors. Make sure you have a cat box available for your cat or cats to urinate in. Make sure they know where the box is at and keep it clean or the cats will tend not to use it if too dirty. Another reason is if a cat gets a urinary infection. Symptoms of this would be your cat tends to squat and try to pee constantly. Take your cat immediately into the Veterinarian if you suspect this, as a cat can die pretty fast from this problem. They become very toxic, lethargic and won't eat from this problem. If your cat or cats are acting fine, just make sure you have a clean clean cat box available for them. They should not be urinating on the floor.

Why does my cat's tail shake when she sees me or when I pet her?

Your cat's tail may quiver when she sees you because she is trembling with excitement. When a cat sees a bird or mouse their tail sometimes will quiver in excitement. A quivering tail in response to petting is a nervous system reaction to the unusual stimulation. In addition to all of those things an intact male cat quivers his tail while holding it high as he stands in preparation to spray a urine mark in his territory.

Why do kittens whine?

because they are specific on something they want or have not gotten something they need.

What are the CATs?

Depends on the setting.

It can be a pet animal, it can also be an abbreviated name for several other things.

On a worksite, it can be short for "caterpillar", a brand name of earth-moving Equipment, bulldozers, treaded tractors.

In a garage, it might be short for "catalytic converter", a box on the exhaust of cars that cleans up the gasses from combustion a bit before being released into the atmosphere.

The Domestic Cat, or its scientific name, Felius Catus, is a small predatory carnivorous species of crepuscular mammal that is valued by people as gets rid of pests such as mice, rats, and other vermin. It has been associated with humans for at least 9,500 years, being first domesticated due to it's skill in killing pest animals.

Like all cats, the domestic cat is a very skilled and active hunter. It is known to hunt and eat a wide variety of species for food. The cat is perfectly adapted for hunting and catching prey; their short but powerful legs allow for great bursts of speed when chasing prey, and are quite skilled in climbing and jumping. Retractable claws also aid in such activities. Their long tails help balance and in a more domestic setting, allow a human owner to read the cat's mood.

Cats use a variety of vocalizations and types of body language for communication, such as meowing, purring, hissing, growling, squeaking, chirping, clicking, and grunting.

Individual cats have also learned to operate simple mechanisms, such as doorknobs. Some cats can be trained to obey simple commands.

Cats are one of the most popular pet, with over 600 million in homes all over the world. Selective breeding over history have resulted in approximately 80 or so different breeds of cat.

Until recently, the cat was most likely to have been domesticated from Ancient Egypt, where is was a cult animal. But a 2007 study found that the lines on all house cats probably run through as few as five self-domesticating African Wildcats (Felius silvestris lybica) circa 8,000 BC, in the Near East.

A cat is any animal of the family Felidae, or, more generally, the domesticated subspecies of the animal, which has been kept as a house pet for centuries. Cats were probably first kept because they ate mice, and this is still their main 'job' in farms throughout the world. Later they were kept because they are friendly and good companions. Cats use many different sounds for communication, including meowing, purring, trilling, hissing, growling, squeaking, chirping, clicking and grunting.

What were black panthers like?

Black panthers are not actually pure black, they have darker rosettes on their fur. This means they are not strictly Panthers, they are more of a Leopard than a Panther.

They usually hunt at night, like most felines, Hence their sleek, dark fur. Their fur helps them not to be spotted by their prey; their only weakness is their eyes - they are most commonly Amber, but they have been known to have Green, or Blue eyes. This does not blend in with the dark night, so their prey can easily spot them, this means that they still have to use camouflage and hide.

Should you correct a cat when they hiss?

Well, it depends. If the cat is hissing at you without a good reason, then you should correct them by saying no firmly and maybe shooing them away. However, your cat may hiss at another cat or dog (which in most cases, should be corrected). Sometimes a mother cat will even hiss at her kittens if she feels they are misbehaving. When this happens, don't correct her. Mother kitty knows best! :)

What big cats can be good pets?

None. The big cats are still very wild. Domesticated cats have been bred for years and years to make them "domestic", but even they can easily go back to their "wild" behaviors, especially if they are born in the wild. Big cats don't have the benefit of the years of selective breeding to make them good pets.
