In a gram stain the primary stain is crystal violet. Iodine then sets that dye into the gram positive cells while alcohol washes out the crystal violet from the gram negative cells. Then safranin, which is the counterstain in a gram stain, is used to dye the rest of the bacteria. This is the example I can give you of why a counterstain does not change the look in all the cells. Though safranin stains all the cells, the gram positive cells that were dyed purple from crystal violet don't look pink - only the gram negative do.

No camouflage can consist of any colours at all the idea of camouflage is that it causes that which is camouflaged to be hard to see in its surrounding's. For example the green and brown blotches often seen on soldiers is hard to see in forest setting's . however if you were to be camouflaged in a snow setting you would be wearing white.

Why does a layer of humus form quickly in the rain forest?
Because humus is dead stuff decomposed. It gives lots of nutrients to plants who need them. So, the forest floor has lots of dead stuff right? There is probably lots of banana slugs and worms cause they don't need sunlight anyways back to the subject these decomposers decompose and mixes all the dead stuff with the soil and WALLAH there is humus!
