Depression is a tough part of life to be in and before you ever started dating someone else you should have sat down (perhaps in a restaurant) and quietly told your boyfriend you needed to have a break for a bit and not rushed out and started dating too quickly. The last thing this poor guy needs is something more to depress him and that is why you should have handled it long before now. Since you didn't, handle this very carefully. If he is an angry person, then he could become angrier and you've heard enough on the news and read in papers that sometimes break-ups from someone who is depressed does not always end happily. If this person is of a quiet nature, then you'd better find out just how depressed he is and at least help him seek out some professional help before you walk away permanently. You must realize you have become an intricate part of his life and someone he probably relies on. If you can, go and have a private talk to his mother. Tell her what you feel in your heart, that you are sorry it ended this way, and you don't want to hurt her son. At least she will be aware of it.

Pain can heal but scars are forever. If you truly care about him, tell him the truth. Tell him that you want him as a friend and that you would rather talk as friends about separating rather than doing something to hurt him more. You have to understand that he may not want to speak to you for a while based him feeling betrayed. This betrayed feeling will pass through time and then you'll see if a friendship can be salvaged. Either or both of you will hurt, but you can control the pain by being honest to him and yourself.

Sounds like your husband has the morals of an alley cat. If you've had problems with him before it doesn't really matter if it's the truth or not that he is seeing a 40 year old woman for money. The point is, he had a mistress before and this guy just doesn't get the lesson in life ... loyalty! Get rid of this guy and get on with your life!

Answer Drinking or not you cheated when you set things in motion with other women if as you say you are in a commited relationship. I've been plenty drunk in my days and knew that if I made contacts with other women, in a way I cheated on my girlfriend because without thought of how this may hurt your girlfriend, drinking or not you went ahead and did it anyway.

I think its not doing anything that would hurt the other, lying, secrets, hiding thing, even phone calls are a form of cheating if you don't tell you spouse about it... if its sneaky its a form of cheating.. so if you are Not doing these type of actives I would say your not cheating.

i think they could possibly get lonely and someone might be there for them when youre not.

hopefully they dont cheat on you, but when someone's lonely and someone else pays attention to them, anything can happen :/

I have no control over your love life.

I dont know if you can ever gain trust again. It is up to the person whom you are trying to have trust you, to open their heart to you again as a person. As a being, and an equal. I know it will take alot, and alot of false accusations tend to get spit at you during this time, but if the person is worth the fight, and your heart is right again, then anything is possible.

The only explanation I can give you is that most men (and women) believe that they won't get caught. Even if they are caught, they often make some ridiculous excuse for their actions. The reason for denial is for the simple fact to "keep you guessing". I notice you said that the spouse is 100% sure that his/her significant other is being unfaithful, but in the mind of the cheater, he/she feels that as long as they don't admit to it, then it's like it's still a mystery.

I do not understand the idea of cheating on another. I am a man and I can honestly say that I have never nor will I ever cheat on my wife. When I said I do, it was because I did and continue to love her. She was the one I wanted with me until the day that I leave this earth. It is a promise that I made to her. If those feelings ever left me, I would divorce her before I ever laid down with another woman. It was a promise that I made to myself that I would never make anyone the victim of unfaithfulness. Why everyone can't see that, I don't know.

In class one day, we were talking about Jesse James cheating on Sandra Bullock. Everyone was saying that he was stupid for doing that because she was the catch for him. He wasn't the catch. She was. And people were confused as to why Jesse James would cheat on her. She is so beautiful and talented. And my professor said something that was funny at the time, but I could see how it would apply. He said, "If you were having steak every night, you would still want a hamburger every now and then." My only thing is, if you weren't ready to commit to steak every night, why would you put a ring on it's finger?

This is a very wide topic as it varies from place to place. In some places it is absolutely forbidden and if found that you have extramarital affairs you could be continuously raped by a variety of people as punishment or even death. Country to culture punishment varies.

Unfortunately the percentages and actual numbers are hard to determine as many individuals do not like to admit they have had extramarital affairs however, looking at the a variety of statistics I have found that cheating is definitely and unfortunately on a rise.

Normally I would give advice and tell you to kick this guy to the curb, but this is a little different. Some people never fully go through a grieving process of losing their ex so it's unfinished business. They find someone else they love, but something keeps drawing them back to the ex. Sometimes it's just so they can find out what happened and why they broke up. 9 chances out of 10 if they could sway their ex into a relationship they were be bored with the ex and come sailing back to their present partner. Human nature creeps in because none of us like to admit that we aren't needed or wanted by certain people and especially by those we love. People simply make mistakes. Have a good talk with him and see where his head is coming from, and you'll know if he's telling the truth as far as wanting to come back to you and carryon with your relationship. If you decide to take him back, then be sure you let him know that you aren't going through this again and if you ever catch him sneaking off with his ex that will finish the relationship between you for good. Well it will be hard for the boyfriend to trust, but the best thing you can do is to show him how much you care and over time prove to him you can be trusted. At the end of the day so far you've done all you can and been honest and that has to count for something, and in the long run will prove he can trust you to be honest with him. If he really loves you together you will be able to get through it, if that's what you want. But you have to be sure it's what you want and that you do want to work through this.

As a true friend, it'd be best that you did. If you know for fact he is, and can back it up with some sort of proof then keeping it from her will only hurt her more in the end. She may feel betrayed by not only her husband but her friend as well.

You should go about it carefully, though. Don't just blatantly blurt it out, nor should you reveal it to her with others, including her husband, around. Start up by letting her know you have something important to tell her and tell her the degree of importance and that it's something that may change her life. Let her know how personal it is and how painful knowing this may be, but don't beat around the bush too much or she may think you're joking around with her.

Again, keeping it secret can be very harmful to her, in the end. If he isn't using protection while he has sexual relations with others, he runs the risk of giving her a disease and possibly one she can't ever cure. She has a right to know what he's doing so that she can make a choice for herself.

you leave him. its going to be hard, but you have to get out. either way your not going to be happy;; obviously. if your not happy with him, you wont be happy without him.. temporarily. time heals the pain. it will hurt when you first leave but EVENTUALLY you will get over it.
