How much solid wax makes one ounce of melted wax?
One ounce. No mass is lost in the phase change from solid to liquid wax.
What is an enriching section in a distillation column?
It is the top section of the distillation column.
The section where the vapour leaves the column to the condenser.

How to convert Ethylene glycol solution weight percent to volume percent?
Assume that you have a 25wt% solution of EG. That means you have 25 kg for every 100 kg of solution. Assuming that the EG is dissolved in water means that the solution would contain 25 kg of EG and 75 kg of water. To find the volume % you need to convert each component to a volume by using their densities. The density of water is 1000 kg/m3 and EG is 1113 kg/m3. Using this data we can figure out the volume of each component of solution. For water: 75 kg / (1000 kg/m3) = 0.075 m3 For EG: 25 kg/(1113 kg/m3) = 0.0225 m3 %Vol = 0.0225 m3 / (0.0225 + 0.075 m3) = 0.231 or 23.1% vol
In distillation towers what does 'flooding velocity' means?
Generally: The flooding velocity of the column is the velocity of the vapor rising through the column at which the liquid on each stage is suspended. The flow of vapor up through the column will not allow the liquid to fall down through the column causing the stages to "flood".
An air blast burner is a burner where a controlled blast of air is supplied the gas. The burner has an air blast type fuel injector.
What is steam economy in Evaporator?
Steam economy is the ratio between total steam evaporated and steam consumed Se=Steam evaporated/steam flow at start should be above 1 for multi effect systems
What are the compounds that show dextrorotatory and leavorotatory charectiristics?
Compounds that show D or L characteristics are chiral molecules. A chiral molecule has a nonsuperimposable mirror image of itself.
A compound that vaporizes readily at room temperature is most likely to be a?
A liquid compound that vaporizes readily at room temperature is called a volatile liquid. An example of this would be gasoline or rubbing alcohol
What is the definition of Residual Engineering?
Residual engineering I think is the thought and kinetic process of recycling energy.
Ability to conduct impulses along the muscle membrane.
Diesel direct injection system is the latest technology in diesel engine. In this technology multi step injection is done due to this technology engine produce less noise & less vibration.
Depending on the equipment required for the substation, some of the tests are as follows: meggering,hi-pot testing, continuity checks,c.t. testing, relay testing, ngr testing, capacitance bridge test's on transformers.
steam auto claaave is a auto clave in which the instrument sterlised by the steam pressure

Type your answer here... CAF gasket refers to Compressed asbestos fibre gasket. This gasket is carcinogenic and hence industries have started to reduce this material.
Why oceanic water absorb so many minerals in it?
Ocean water absorbs a lot of minerals because water is such an excellent solvent for so many substances. Combine with that, the abundance of existing dissolved materials that can form soluble salts with many existing minerals and you have an excellent environment for dissolving minerals that start out as oxides.
What is electrolytic cleaning?
It's a form of electroplating.
In electroplating, you put the thing you want to plate in an electrolyte and connect the positive cable from a DC power source to it, a piece of the metal you want to plate it with (call it "donor metal") in the electrolyte and connect the negative cable, turn on the power and stand back as metal atoms flow from the donor metal to the item you're plating.
In electrolytic cleaning, you hook up the cables "backwards"--the positive to the item you're trying to clean, the negative to a bar of metal--and when you turn the juice on, metal atoms will flow from the item you're cleaning to the bar of metal...taking the crud with them.
Kevlar is a fiber that is knitted or woven into a material/fabric. Those materials can be laminated to be made waterproof, but Kevlar in and of itself as a finished good is not waterproof.
Coker naphtha is an intermediate hydrocarbon product of a delayed coker unit. The boiling point is closest to that of gasoline. In some cases the delayed coker unit will contain a unit operation called a naphtha splitter, in which the coker naphtha is distilled by fractional distillation into light and heavy coker naphtha. The heavy coker naphtha may be discarded back into the light coker gasoil or used as an intermediate elsewhere the in refinery.
A naphtha splitter is often required when the cut point of naphtha at the refinery is "low" (approximately less than 135°C). Low naphtha cut points are the result of stringent environmental regulations. Since most of the sulfur is in the heaviest third of the total gasoline, excluding it from the gasoline blending pool may be the easiest way to comply with strict environmental regulations. In this case the higher sulfur heavy coker naphtha may be discarded as a blending component for synthetic crude oil or blending with light cycle oil (LCO).
How do you write a experimental report?
The abstract is the only text in a research paper to be written without using paragraphs in order to separate major points. Approaches vary widely, however for our studies the following approach can produce an effective introduction.
Style:
There is no specific page limit, but a key concept is to keep this section as concise as you possibly can. People will want to read this material selectively. The reader may only be interested in one formula or part of a procedure. Materials and methods may be reported under separate subheadings within this section or can be incorporated together.
General intentThis should be the easiest section to write, but many students misunderstand the purpose. The objective is to document all specialized materials and general procedures, so that another individual may use some or all of the methods in another study or judge the scientific merit of your work. It is not to be a step by step description of everything you did, nor is a methods section a set of instructions. In particular, it is not supposed to tell a story. By the way, your notebook should contain all of the information that you need for this section.

What to avoid
The page length of this section is set by the amount and types of data to be reported. Continue to be concise, using figures and tables, if appropriate, to present results most effectively. See recommendations for content, below.
General intentThe purpose of a results section is to present and illustrate your findings. Make this section a completely objective report of the results, and save all interpretation for the discussion.
Writing a results sectionIMPORTANT: You must clearly distinguish material that would normally be included in a research article from any raw data or other appendix material that would not be published. In fact, such material should not be submitted at all unless requested by the instructor.

Journal guidelines vary. Space is so valuable in the Journal of Biological Chemistry, that authors are asked to restrict discussions to four pages or less, double spaced, typed. That works out to one printed page. While you are learning to write effectively, the limit will be extended to five typed pages. If you practice economy of words, that should be plenty of space within which to say all that you need to say.
General intentThe objective here is to provide an interpretation of your results and support for all of your conclusions, using evidence from your experiment and generally accepted knowledge, if appropriate. The significance of findings should be clearly described.
Writing a discussionInterpret your data in the discussion in appropriate depth. This means that when you explain a phenomenon you must describe mechanisms that may account for the observation. If your results differ from your expectations, explain why that may have happened. If your results agree, then describe the theory that the evidence supported. It is never appropriate to simply state that the data agreed with expectations, and let it drop at that.
Style:
The biggest mistake that students make in discussions is to present a superficial interpretation that more or less re-states the results. It is necessary to suggest why results came out as they did, focusing on the mechanisms behind the observations
