What exhaust is best for a 1997 V6 camaro?
V6 engines dont sound as good as a V8. If you start putting exhaust on V6 engines, it will sound bad and it is not recommended by most shops. I prefer a Flowmaster Cat back system, simply because it sounds awesome. Nice rich rumble without being too loud. I've read, however, that the performance increase isn't very much over stock. I think Flowmaster feels differently, though. I've also tried the much more expensive Borla Cat back system. Its much louder, and harsher sounding. Plus, there is an unpleasant reasonance inside the car between 40-50 mph. If performance is what you want, then you should consider the Borla. Also, its stainless steel and guaranteed for life. I've also tried a "dual" exhaust cobbled together at a local muffler shop. The system looked bad, compared to the factory made Borla or Flowmaster. It also rattled and simply wasn't engineered as well as the others.

How do you replace the timing chain on 1984 Chevrolet Camaro 305 V8?
Make sure the engine is at TDC, disconnect negative battery post, and secure the front of the car on jack stands. Remove the belt, water pump, balancer, and anything that may be in the way of the timing cover such as the fans, radiator hoses, etc. Drain the oil, remove the oil pan, timing cover, and oil filter. Take the cam gear off and the chain will come off with it. Pull the crank gear off. Put your new gears and chain on (make sure marks line up), new gaskets and timing cover, new oil filter and oil, then put the rest back on.
there are three wires that come off the ignition switch cylinder the must clip tightly to the wires that run down to the ignition switch. on my car i replaced the ignition switch cylinder forgot about the wires and the same thing happend it kept dieinguntill the wires were securly/tightly connected. I don' think I would just start hacking at wires. A wiring diagram if available would do little good. I really doubt you have a wiring problem, it is more than likely a problem with the Passlock Security System (factory anti-theft system). I have done a lot of looking into this system in the past week, it is really quite simple, yet sophisticated. Have you changed keys or had new keys made lately? If you have, you may need to go back to using the previous key or do a reprogram of the system to teach it the resistance value for the key you are using. If that does not work, more than likely it is the device in the ignition cylinder lock is bad. The device in the lock reads the resistance value from the key and tells the computer that the correct key is being used to start the vehicle. Try this process: For the Passlock 2 system, put the key in the ignition and turn the engine over (the car should not start, if it did you are done), turn the key to the ON position, let it set for 10 min. The security light should be flashing. After 10 min. the security light should stop flashing the car is ready to learn the new key value. Turn the key off, wait 5 seconds, and then try to start the car.

Check the positive battery cable for worn insulation. A bare wire can touch the frame where it leads the starter. Cable just moves a little and shorts out. This happened on a different year camaro. Having sudden battery and alternator problems too? Same answer. cause ur dumb
