You might think I'm being smart, but you change the oil when it's dirty. Check it every now and then. Most Synthetic oils now-a-days are good for about 5000 miles, coventional oils it's best to replace every 3000 miles. But the best rule of thumb is to change the oil when it's dirty. When you check your oil use a white paper towel to wipe the dipstick, if it's dirty you'll see it, you'll have to use your good judgment.

you need to put the car on a level lift, unscrew the bolt from the transmission and stick your finger in to see if you need fluid... There is no dip stick it is a sealed system

There are adjustment screws around the headlight but it's best to take it in to the dealer to have them set properly as they have an alignment tool they put on the light to get it set properly.

You must first remove the cover from behind the door open lever and the cover from the door handle....then remove the screws....

then remove the cover for the mirror that's on the inside its snaps off so a firm pull should do the trick, and then the same for the door it has like 20 or 25 snaps that all have to be undone... a quick pull will snap it out and then I'm sure you can figure the rest out :-)

There is no dipstick on the cobalt. Believe me it's fristrating, you cannot check your fluid at all, have to take it to a dealer.

ACTUALLY DUDE, U CANNNN CHECK UR FLUID AND DRAIN IT. I HAVE A 2007 CHEVY COBALT SS/SC AND U HAVE TO TAKE OFF THE DRIVERSIDE TIRE, THEN ABOVE THE TRANSAXLE THERE ARE TWO BLACK (HEX) ALLEN SCREWS WHICH I BELIEVE ARE 5/16 KINDA BIG, AND THE TOP ONE IS THE CHICK/FILL PLUG WHICH TO CHECK IT IF STUFF IS POURING OUT THATS TOO MUCH U SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE IT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE GROOVES IN THE HOLE. THE BOTTOM PLUG IS THE DRAIN PLUG...HOPE THIS HELPS U OUT MAN

Behind the glove box. Check your owner's manual, it will tell you how to remove the glove box and replace the filter.

There is a petcock on the bottom corner of the passenger side on the radiator. If you turn the petcock and open the valve the coolant will drain out of the drain hole on the bottom passenger side of the radiator. Make sure you have a big bucket to catch the coolant in or you will be making a huge mess. The proper way to fill the radiator is to take the upper radiator hose off and pour the coolant in until the radiator is full. Then replace the radiator hose and fill the overflow to the correct level. Start the car and let it run till it is hot and the fans kick on (should be about 220F ~ 230F). Turn the car off and let it cool, then top off the overflow bottle. You should be fine to drive the car at this point, but after heating up the car again you may need to top it off again so keep some coolant handy. The cobalt uses dexcool.

unfortunaltely not. I am on my 3rd column and motor in less than 5000km in my 2010 balt. its the plastic gears in the column they wear out and make that rattle noise. although jtek has manufactured a better column, it still has same issues as evident in my 2010.

DOT 4 has a higher boiling point than the similar glycol-based DOT 3 fluid, but for a daily driver vehicle such as the cobalt, DOT 3 will suffice.

MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT MIX DOT 3 WITH DOT 4.

It's underneath the hood right above the battery compartment. Look to the far left there should be number 20A, look at the diagram for assistance (It's the bottom 20A as there are two) and it's labeled "Outlet". It should be a 20 or 25 Amp Fuse. (It calls for a 20 but I have a 25 Amp).

There is no dip stick on a 2008 Chevy Cobalt.....they made it difficult so you can't check it yourself and you have to take it to a dealer ship so they can make money off of us. One has to completely drain the transmission to know how much transmission fluid is in there and then you have to put the exact amount in that the manual calls for....and of course you want to put new fluid back in. After my car had been fixed in the auto body shop, I noticed my transmission was not shifting right on my 2008 Chevy Cobalt. Long story short, after 2 months finally someone listened to me and I found the leak myself. I took pictures of it dripping and the auto body shop tried to say it was a piece of dirt and all was well. It was still leaking I took it back into the auto shop and it was a loose o ring that they never tightened. It has been almost a year since the problem has been fixed and since the transmission fluid went so low,,,,I now have a hesitation when I turn left for over a year now. Had I been able to check the transmission fluid, I would have know for sure the transmission fluid was low and the problem would have never got this far. I am a female.....but I usually can tell what is wrong with the car....call it gut instinct. I was right from the beginning that something was up with the transmission. I hope they change this in the future on vehicles and put the dip stick process back so we can check it ourselves.

Depends, on a stock intake you get 26-30 on the freeway and 22-25 in the city. Get a K&N filter, and it goes up by one or two mpg. Get a cold air intake, and it goes up by another one or two. Get hard compound tires (I have 810 on the front and 620 on the back) and it goes up by another three or four. Get lightweight racing rims, and it'll go up by another one or two.

My car gets 35mpg at 80mph (~3000 rpm) on level ground. This is a high improvement on the original MPG by the EPA because of all the upgrades I have like the ones above.

3. press gas pedal 3 times, light will reset to 100%

This worked on 2006 cobalt SS. If this does not work try step 3 with key on off position.
