What is so important about the location of the Chicago O'Hare International Airport that makes it such an important transportation hub?

I can think of several reasons... First, it is located about halfway across a very big country. Many modes of transportation like trains, buses or planes, would stop there to take on additional provisions or passengers that couldn't be held for a cross-country trip such as fuel or food. Next, Chicago's local business and leisure-traveling population is very large. So, in addition to accommodating connecting cross country travelers, O'Hare has a big local traveling public that needs air service too. Next, O'Hare has already obtained the necessary land and built the facilities for an international airport. Its presence would put off people from building another large airport nearby. In other words, it got there first. One drawback to O'Hare's location, though, is that it is a snow-airport. Chicago's weather in winter is such that it experiences more delays or cancellations that other midwestern non-snow airports such as Cincinnati or St. Louis. Hope that helps.

What arguments are against police brutality?

The arguments against police brutality are generally of three types. 1) The police job is to enforce the law and bring the perpetrator to justice...not to assume guilt or innocence. 2) The police look bad when they use police brutality. If is a poor role model for behavior. People can think, well..if the police can beat people up, why can't I? 3) Most important it sends a terrible message to others about the credibility (believability) of the system or state which allows police brutality to happen. Therefore, if police brutality becomes acceptable in a place, over time the public becomes aware of this and ends up ostracizing (avoiding) the state or area in which this occurs.Eventually the public trust in the legal system is undermined when police brutality is allowed to continue.

What is TPCASTT?

TPCASTT (which stands for title, paraphrase, connotation, attitude, shifts, title, and theme) is a way of analyzing poetry.

  1. Title: Before reading a poem, foreshadow what it might be about by thinking about the title. Why might the poet have chosen that title instead of a synonym for it or some other completely different title?
  2. Paraphrase: Read the poem, then rewrite it in your own words.
  3. Connotation: Ponder about the poet's diction, imagery, point-of-view, allusions, symbolism, similes, metaphors, paradox, etc. Ask yourself, "Why did the poet include something like Life is but a teardrop or The Internet is Godzilla if we're not careful in his/her poem?" As a critical thinker, you should wonder about every word the poet uses in the poem and about words that the poet doesn't use or doesn't omit. For example, why did the poet use the word lake instead of ocean or pool? Why did the poet write Now I am a lake instead of just I am a lake in his/her poem?
  4. Attitude: What feelings or mood does the poet express toward the speaker, other characters, and the reader? What feelings does the speaker express toward other characters. Don't get confused between the poet and the speaker.
  5. Shifts: Notice the poem's physical shape. How many lines are there per stanza; how many stanzas are there; how many words are there per stanza; how long or short are the sentences; how long are the words that the poet uses? A poet writing a poem about basketball might make the poem have 5 stanzas or 5 lines per stanza because there are 5 players on a team in a basketball game.
  6. Title: Now, reanalyze the poem's title after having read the whole thing and critically pondering about it. Why do you think the poet chose that title now instead of some other similar title?
  7. Theme: Identify the topics the poet had written about in the poem, then formulate a profound lesson that the poet was trying to convey through that poem. Is he/she trying to teach us, the readers, that life ends in inevitable death no matter how successfully we've lived, or is he/she telling us that truly loving someone comes from more than seeing good looks?

How do you retrieve the current date and time in PHP?

By calling time() you can get the current system time as a UNIX timestamp (that is, measured in the number of seconds since the Unix Epoch (January 1 1970 00:00:00 GMT)).

The usual time zone and minute length complications apply.

If you need to, you can format this into a string of text (will be understandable for humans using the Gregorian solar calendar) by calling date(...) with some useful parameters. For example:

date("r", time()) will return a string in RFC2822 format, as used by E-Mail, denoting the current system time.

date("c", time()) will return a string in ISO8601 format, as used by most database management systems for date display and input, denoting the current system time.

There are all kinds of extra formats, see
