firstlyu... i do not think the ex husband should control you... he should be contacting you only to meet the children. If the children are calling you when they are with him... i guess he is not a good father and they should not meet him anymore. You should try to stop them meeting this ex hubby. looks like he is a jerk.

Your husband can only adopt if the girls father willingly gives up his parental rights or the court terminates them. As her dad he will pay child support until the adoption is through. Then your husband have that responsibility and parental rights just like you. So see what your ex wants. The court stops child support etc when the adoption is through.

If it is not in your agreement then no. Private school is a luxury nor mandatory and a public school is able to offer a free education. If you have agreed to it prior in family court it might bring issues and concerns. With the economy in the state it is in no judge will say yes u have to, if so appeal it if not in your agreement.

Parents don't have legal responsibility for someone 18 years old, unless they have legally recognized diminished capacity. They are legally adults now, so they can do whatever they want and take the consequences themselves.

That depends on what agreement you have with the custodial parent. If it's a hot topic I would suggest the custodial parent deal with it.

i don't think so. Parents just try to protect you so they think they are doing the right thing by not letting you do something, or making you do it instead. Sometimes they want your life to be better than yours, so they push you harder to get a better future for yourself, like they wanted but couldn't have or didn't.
