What is the quickest way to become a contortionist?

Becoming a contortionist can be mastered by anyone. Contrary to popular belief, EVERYONE is born with the flexibility needed to be a contortionist, but as you get older and don't use that flexibility, your muscles and ligaments shorten and tighten. However, they can ALWAYS be loosened up again with lots of practice. If you have no flexibility, work on your splits. Try to hyper-extend the middle, left, and right splits. An easy way to stretch the splits is on the wall. Practice your bridges for a more flexible back, and focus on breathing. Some other important skills are breathing and strength. Breathing is so important when you are trying to move your body into strange positions because it keeps the oxygen circulating through your muscles so you get a better stretch. Strength is needed because in some positions you will need to be holding your own body weight, and you can easily injure yourself if you have no muscle. This sounds mean but it is true- it is easier to contort your body when you have less fat on your body, because there is more room for your body to bend. But, contortionists come in all shapes and sizes! Good luck, and if you have more specific questions feel free to leave a message on my page or email me.
