What is the meaning of the tab in clergy attire?
Aclerical collar is a piece of clerical clothing. It is a detachable collar that buttons onto a clergy shirt or Rabat (vest), being fastened by two metal studs, one attached at the front and one at the back to hold the collar to the shirt. The collar closes at the back of the neck, presenting a seamless front. It is almost always white; and was originally made with cotton or linen but is often made with plastic now. Sometimes (especially in Roman Catholic practice) it is attached with a "collaret" or "collarino" that covers the white collar almost completely, except for the top edge and a small white square at the base of the throat, to mimic the collar of a cassock. Sometimes the collar is black (or whatever color is appropriate to the rank of the clergyman), with only a detachable tab of white in the front.
How were the monks different from other members of the clergy?
The term 'Clergy' means anyone who is ordained. In the Roman Catholic, Anglican and Orthodox Churches among many others) there are three 'levels' of ordination - deacons, priests and bishops. These are collectively known as clergy. All other offices (monseigneur, archdeacon, canon, dean etc) are purely administrative or honorary. So the term 'clergy' means anyone who is ordained both in monsteries or in the community as vicars, parish priests, chaplains and so on. Monks, however, always live in a closed community. Monks may or may not be ordained as priests, deacons or bishops, but they all have one thing in common. They live in a community called a monastery (or abbey). This means that they have to fulfil the rules of their particular order of monasticism (e.g. Franciscan. Benedictine etc) and contribute to the community through communal prayer and service.
What are the vows the clergy took during the medieval times?
Many people seem confused about the difference between priests and monks.
All monks and nuns took four vows: poverty, chastity, obedience and stability. Poverty meant that they could never own anything of their own; chastity meant that they could not marry or have any relationship with the opposite sex; obedience meant unquestioning obedience to the Rule of St Benedict and to the Superior of their monastery or nunnery. Stability meant that they would never leave the monastery or nunnery without permission and would always live the cloistered life.
Priests were not bound by oath, but chastity was part of the conditions of becoming a priest, regulated by Canon Law. Many ignored the regulations and got married anyway.

His theories on the future of internet culture were first published in the early 1990's. A website "the Asphalt Philosopher" was one of the earliest websites to appear after the development of the mosaic browser. Read around the world, a daily column titled "Thoughts for You" was a collection of eclectic ideas and social commentary. Eventually published as a book (available in Kindle edition at Amazon.com), the book contained thoughts and theories of the future of "techno-culture' a name given to the postmodern theories attributed to Roland H Johnson III. He predicted and then developed online university classes as early as 1995 and taught extensively on the convergence of family, religion and the internet. He correctly predicted the development of online groups and societies existing without actual physical contact. He also predicted the rise of a new form of tribalism and techno-barbarism manifested through fantasy societies on the internet. Internet gaming, dating services and a complete array of internet society has proven the accuracy of his theories.
