Embroidery Programs are more of a "Graphics" application than anything else. The embroidery hardware is similar to that of a high end large format printer that would use a graphic design and raster image processor software package to operate. My experience is to stay with a true Pentinum processor and consider your hardware hook up. A lot of graphics equipment ie: Vinyl cutters, Ink Jet Printers as well as embroidery equipment require a serial port connection. Most Laptops only have USB ports available. Finding compatible Serial to USB cabels can be tough as they are not all equal. You may have pay around $50-60 for a USB- Serial cable that will actually work with your application. Anyway , go for a Pentinum with as much Ram as you can afford and you should be ok.

Intel HD graphics are a bad choice. They deliver minimal graphics, and play hot while gaming. The ram is pretty good, and I think the hard drive would work. I suggest you get a desktop if you want to play games well, but please, don't get Intel HD graphics

In summary, I recommend Alienware, simply because they are still a smaller custom shop that will provide great support, but is now owned by Dell, so you can get a decent deal and a reasonable assurance that the company will be there for you a few years from now. Though again, I don't recommend spending for more than you need, unless you simply want the best no matter the cost.

I built my gaming computer and spent $800 (Canadian dollars) on it and i can play battlefield 3 on ultra no problems what so ever. If you wanted one pre-built i would say anywhere from 800-1000 would be sufficient.

1) Normally, your UK internet connection won't be accessable from Australia, you'll need to sign up with an Australian internet provider
