Can you replace a dell video card with a hp video card?

Dell and HP do not manufacture Video cards, they simple use cards made by other companies. IF you mean put a video card from an HP computer into a dell one, then yes, you may be able to. Both the card from the HP and the motherboard from the Dell need to use the same slot (PCI, PCI-E, AGP,) and also the motherboard slot should ideally have the same speed as the card (1x, 8x,16x) or be greater. Most newer video cards also require supplimental power so the approptiate power connector needs to be available (most likely 6pin, dual 6pin, or 6pin and 8pin).

It is best to bring the card and computer to a store so that they can look at the specifications to tell you if they will work together

Where can you buy a laptop with a payment plan?

This depends on the type of laptop, where you plan on buying it from, and sometimes your credit score. Most stores that sell lap tops (i.e., Best Buy, Circuit City) have a monthly payment plan, the same goes for the manufacturer itself. For example, Dell offers laptops for a monthly payment of anywhere from $15 and up, but it should be noted that often times, paying a lower monthly bill costs more than paying for the laptop in full. You can also try any of the home shopping channels, i.e. ShopNBC, QVC, HSN, etc. They offer installment options on most of their products, including laptops, ranging from 2 equal payments up to 6 at times. All with no interest. Name brands include Dell, Gateway, Acer, HP, Sony.

What is field level validation?

A field refers to data that is entered. Field level validation refers to built in rules for the type / range of data that is allowed to be entered in that field. For example in a typical web registration form, valication for the field "Age" would be: 1. It should be an integer (meaning a whole number) between 0 and 100. It cannot accept alphanumeric characters. 2. It should be entered and cannot be left blank - this is my example. In a different form, it is possible that the site allows age to be left blank. A field such as "Name" may have the following validations: 1. It should not be left blank 2. It should have alphabetic characters without special characters such as *, & etc 3. It should be max 40 characters in length. There could be different types of fields and the possible validations would be different for each. I have given two examples of field level validations. These validations are performed to prevent "incorrect" data from being accepted by a system/web site.

What is a load state?

in Microsoft Windows OS, It's part of USMT

LoadState migrates the files and settings from the store to the destination computer. LoadState migrates each file (one by one) from the store to a temporary location on the destination computer - the files are decompressed (and decrypted if necessary) during this process. Next, LoadState transfers the file to the correct location, deletes the temporary copy, and begins migrating the next file.

usually used to restore a crashed computer to it's previous state after re-installing the OS and USMT you can run Loadstate to restore previously backed up files that were backed up using Windows Easy Transfer

Which PDA is better Dell or HPIpaq and why?

Well...... I guess its the question of which do you want an apple or a peach? They both have good and bad points. But I wont leave you there. After selling electronics for over 15 years 10 in my own business I can say with certanty that the first step is forget them both. Sit down and make a list of the things you must have in a PDA, Then below that the things you would like and then top it off with it would be nice but your not paying extra for it. Then go put the list together with the specs from individual models. Come up with a few models to choose from and then pick one from each maker if you can. Sometimes one will stand out from the other and make the choice easy. As for dell vs hp. Where you live could make a difference. Now I only have others voice on HP no real experience but they are known for having propriatary stuff. So buy from them only is the way. Dell I have been able to get stuff everywhere here in the city. Dell has been top notch when it comes to service either by phone or by internet. Broken parts are replaced via the fedex system quickly and easily. I liked the way dell handled my questions when I was looking for my PDA where as HP was slow and unresponsive several times. So have fun. Jonathon

The function of the CPU (Central Processing Unit) is the heart of the computer. Everything the computer needs to do has to go through the CPU. The CPU tells the computer what to do, when to do it, and how to do it.

Should computers replace teachers?

Yes,definately

Because the computer has more knowledge than a human being, though it may be true that humans put it in,the person who wrote could be dead.

And,the computers could have strong firewalls so the students could not go into certain things and could not hack it.

Classes such as P.E. or Special Ed would most likely still have human teachers as they need physical movement and attention.

Another thing is that students would not have peer pressure or having a problem with favoritism.

Would STAPLES have pre cut puzzles?

What is the difference between Microsoft and apple?

'everything' would be the shortest answer. The heart of the differences lies on the operating system.

The Operating System of your computer acts as a central station/hub for all your various software programs, input and output devices and alike.

File naming, transfers, command functions, etc. are all the operating system working it's magic.

Microsoft Windows an operating system.

Windows users have been critical on; as an operating system with too many security vulnerabilities/bugs.

There is no debate that Windows is the most used/common operating system visa-vie will be riskier to potential hacker/security threats.

Other critics of Windows is that uses too much system resources for no benefit. put simply, your computer is doing a lot just to have it turned on.

Apple runs an OS varying in names Leopard being one.

By reputation it is a more 'stable' operating systems. Crashes, bugs, and general speed/ease of use are the high points.

Software options are greater with Windows, 'everyone' makes their particular software to run on Windows systems. 'Some' make them for Apple.

Apple systems require less hardware requirements. 'you can do more with less' on the specs.

Apple systems are expensive via comparison, and in general are the most expensive computers in the categories they compete on.

The third contender in the Operating System war is Linux, with the software title UbuntU leading the way.

Check out lifehacker on ways to turn a microsoft windows computer into a 'hackintouch' running Apple OS.

Give 2 examples of service business?

Computer Shop

Convenience Store

Improve answer from above:

Service related businesses provide services to the public, not products. So a better example than a 'computer shop' would be a computer repair technician, because that professional is not selling products but his expertise. Other types of service related businesses/professions include: Doctors, Lawyers, Accountants, Hairdressers, etc.

(I do not see how a convenience store fits in this category because the store primarily sells products, not services).

What is the biggest concern when using a free web host?

Free hosting services tend to work on two business models and understanding how the service you are about to sign up with makes money can help you determine if it is right for you. Some companies (the most famous being the former geocities.com make money by placing ads on your site. You are typically not limited with your volume since the hosting company makes more money as your site grows. Another model can save you the inconvenience of having ads placed on your site but your services may be limited since the hosting company hopes you upgrade to a paying customer as your site grows. An example of this type of site is 200mbhost.com which offers a free hosting service with all the frills of a paid account but you are limited by volume and disk space. While such a service can be very useful for small websites that remain in the free plan, you would be wise to check the upgrade price in advance since it may higher than market price for comparable services. So if you plan on upgrading to a paid service down the road, be sure your free hosting provider offers a reasonable upgrade plan or you will have to switch hosts once your site grows.
