How do you get into the CMOS startup of a compaq Presario 4706?
Did you try F10 at the compaq start screen? Mine is a 6000 but F10 works for mine This document pertains to Compaq Presario Desktop PCs.
The Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) contains the code required to control the basic hardware associated with the computer, such as keyboards, display screens, and disk drives. The BIOS is generally used for disabling or enabling devices or device functions. Changes in the BIOS affect the computer even before the operating system has a chance to recognize the device.
Use the following instructions to open the BIOS:
# Press the Power button to start the computer.
NOTE: Pressing F10 opens the BIOS of Compaq Presario desktops 2001 and earlier.Pressing F1 opens the BIOS of the S3000 series, 6400 series, and 2002 models of Presario desktop computers.
# Immediately press the F10 or F1 key repeatedly on the keyboard when the logo screen displays.

# If a language selection screen appears, select a language and press Enter .

Is a GPS an imput or output device?
GPS stands for global positioning system. it is a series of outputs from the GPS satellites and then input from their relative distance from the GPS enabled device.
in other words, GPS systems are not in terms of input or output, just like you do not measure distance in voltage.
External Hard Drives are generally connected to USB ports or FireWire ports.
What is the most popular ports for connecting input and output devices to the computer?
Currently USB Ports are by far the most popular for connecting standard desktop I/O devices such as hard drives or CD-ROM Drives or Thumb drives.
However eSATA and Firewire are used as well to a lesser extent.
How many input devices and output devices are there all together?
Depends on the computer.
Input devices are something that gives the computer information.
e.g.
Keyboard
Mouse
Webcam
Microphone
TouchPad
Graphics Tablet
How good is 4096 MB dual channel DDR3 2x2048 memory manufactured by dell?
Yes, this is good quantity and quality. Knowing the manufacture of the RAM listed above would be required for a more in depth answer.
12 basic formulas in electricity?
Basic formulae in current and electricity:- F=k(q1q2/r2) q=it V=iR R=Þ(l/A) C=Þ(A/l) Q=i2Rt/J{i square Rt} P=W/t W=QJ E=hc/λ
You may be referring to a hub or a switch. Switches are more common. Hubs are older technology.
What processor is a chip with two or more separate processor cores?
For Intel chips this will be almost any Core I5 and I7(with the ones ending with 3 numbers and X being Hexacores, the rest are just Quad cores), for AMD that would be the Chips with "X3 (3 physical cores)/X4(4 cores)/X6(6 cores) in the name.
What is an maskable intErrupt?
interrupts in 8085 are basically classified into two types:
1.Maskable
2.Non maskable
maskable interrupts are those which can be delayed. This is done by masking off the interrupts which are not required.
Maskable interrupts are:RST 7.5,RST 6.5,RST 5.5 and INTR
<decreasing order of priority>
How do you fix HP laptop not booting?
Here is what is going on
The laptop will turn on fine it will run and have a while to enter the BIOS if necessary. Its a HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop. It will go to a black screen where it says
"We apologize for the inconvenience, but windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this. If your computer stopped responding, restarted unexpectedly, or was automatically shut down to protect your files and folders, choose last known good configuartion to revert to the most recent settings that worked. If a previous startup attempt was interrupted due toa power faiuure or because the power or reset button was pressed, or if you aren't sure what caused the problem, choose start windows normall." It gives me 5 options
1. Safe mode
2. safe mode with networking
3. safe mode with command prompt
4. last known good configuration (your most recent settings that worked)
5. Start Windows Normally I've tried each one the first three will show a bunch of text and reset while the last two will just reset the computer.
How do you measure amplitude of a ripple?
Most true RMS voltmeters can measure the value of a ripple voltage on top of a DC supply, when you place it in AC mode. You can also place a small capacitor in series with a DC voltmeter and that would measure the ripple. The real way to do this, because ripple voltage is not sinusoidal, is to use an oscilloscope, particularly if you want the peak values.
How radio communication devices work?
Sound and radio waves are different phenomena. Sound consists of pressure variations in matter, such as air or water. Sound will not travel through a vacuum. Radio waves, like visible light, infrared, ultraviolet, X-rays and gamma rays, are electromagnetic waves that do travel through a vacuum. When you turn on a radio you hear sounds because the transmitter at the radio station has converted the sound waves into electromagnetic waves, which are then encoded onto an electromagnetic wave in the radio frequency range (generally in the range of 500-1600 kHz for AM stations, or 86-107 MHz for FM stations). Radio electromagnetic waves are used because they can travel very large distances through the atmosphere without being greatly attenuated due to scattering or absorption. Your radio receives the radio waves, decodes this information, and uses a speaker to change it back into a sound wave. An animated illustration of this process is given below (mouse-over the images for animations).
A sound wave is produced with a frequency of 5 Hz - 20 kHz.
The sound wave is equivalent to a pressure wave traveling through the air.
A microphone converts the sound wave into an electrical signal.
The electrical wave traveling through the microphone wire is analogous to the original sound wave.
The electrical wave is used to encode or modulate a high-frequency "carrier" radio wave. The carrier wave itself does not include any of the sound information until it has been modulated.
The carrier wave can either be amplitude modulated (AM, top) by the electrical signal, or frequency modulated (FM, bottom).
-Forones
The signal is transmitted by a radio broadcast tower.
Your radio contains an antenna to detect the transmitted signal, a tuner to pick out the desired frequency, a demodulator to extract the original sound wave from the transmitted signal, and an amplifier which sends the signal to the speakers. The speakers convert the electrical signal into physical vibrations (sound).
Which access method is used by Ethernet?
CSMA/CD: Carrier Sense Multiple Access / Collision Detection.
What is the function of power supply connector?
On a desk top, it connects power from the outlet on the wall to the power supply in the computer.
On a laptop. It converts the mains AC power at high voltage to a low voltage DC. Most laptops use around 19v DC.
This is then used to charge the battery in the laptop. When the battery is full, the laptop is then powered by the mains supply, leaving the battery in standby.
On a desk top the power supply is inside the cabinet. On a laptop it is separate. This saves weight and space when using the laptop totally portable and running on battery
That all depends. Most Z270 Motherboards will fit.. the case supports ATX, Micro ATX, and Mini ITX form factor boards. But you will not be able to fit E-ATX motherboards.
What is the definition of peripheral equipment in computers?
Computer peripheral equipment refers to any devices connected to a computer. Some examples of computer peripheral equipment include printers and scanners.
Funtion of the computer is computer is a programable machine for manipulating data according to a list of instruction. Computer take numerous physical form. The ability tostore and execute programs make computer extremely versetile and distinguishes them from calculators.
Why is writing onto a CD or DVD called burning?
Writing a CD or DVD involves using a powerful laser to melt a dye inside the disc to a special pattern. Since melting can often be seen as a form of burning, and since burning sounds cooler, it is the preferred name.
The programming language. Each programming language except for binary has a translator built in that translates into binary. Some programs also have their own creators built in and from there the program is translated and its pretty much an endless stream of translation until you get to the processor.
What is difference between port and connector?
Ports are not used as a reference to TCP/IP and UDP logical connections. Now, the serial and parallel ports are no longer provided in the manufacture of most motherboards, and has been largely replaced by USB technology
