Many people had created the first computer. This is because there are so many parts, that many different people created many different parts to it. One of the inventors name to create most of the parts was Charles Babbage.

The first computers were large rooms filled with tubes, transformers and other parts.

A bit of trivia: Computer "bugs" were so named because someone left the door open and a miller got stuck in a component, causing the computer to malfunction. Urban myth? Possibly, but the incident was cited in an Introduction to Computers college textbook.

There was only one electronic computer in World War Two, which was called ENIAC, and was a building full of vacuum tubes. It was built to calculate artillery projectile paths, and had to have the program wired in. It had no memory, and displayed the output with glowing lights.

Computers have evolved through the years from simple, room-sized calculators to machines capable of trillions of computations every second. Along with shrinking equipment size, computers have exponentially increased in computing power.

Some of the key players who paved the way for the computer revolution are Charles Babbage and John von Neumann. Babbage invented the first programmable computer while von Neumann created the eponymous computer architecture.

The first computer keyboard was an adaptation of a Remington electric typewriter in the early 1950s and was used on the UNIVAC I computer.

The actual invention probably happened sometime during WW2 on either the British Colossus project or the American ENIAC project but these keyboard ideas did not get built. Colossus was connected to a Baudot teletype that the codebreaker could use to collect cypher statistics on and guide the analysis of the message with, but the teletype keyboard was not used as we would use a computer keyboard (i.e. for entering text and/or commands).

The first computer game ever created was likely Bertie The Brain, a Tic Tac Toe game that was made in 1950. While it was technically not a video game, it was a computer game since it used logic. It only existed for 2 weeks for an exhibition. Before that was something known as the CRT Amusement Device, made it 1947. It was technically a video game, but it was not a computer game. It used basic electronics to produce visual effects, but used no logic circuitry.

In 1951, there was a computer game called Nim that was played on the Nimrod computer. The Nimrod did not use a CRT display (meaning it was not a "video game"), just columns of lights.

Spacewar was one of the earliest digital computer games. It was invented in 1962 by Steve Russell.

It depends on how you define computer. If you include primitive calculating devices you can go all the way back to the abacus developed by the Chinese. But assuming you mean the modern computing era of computers began with Charles Babbage's "Difference Engine" in 1822, a mechanical calculator powered by steam engine. Babbage is often called the "Father of Modern Computers".

The first electromechanical computer that could tabulate, compile and record data was the Hollerith's Electric Tabulating Machine in 1890, by Herman Hollerith.

There were a few other electromechanical devices until the ENIAC by Mauchly and Eckart. ENIAC is the computer that is often called the First Generation Computer in computer science text books. It was developed from 1943 to 1945. It was the first general purpose computer (not just a calculator).

Computers help society by using internet connection so that people from all around the world know each other. Some examples like facebook and MSN can be a really convenient program to know each other from all around the world

In terms of size, they have gotten much smaller. The first computer filled an entire room! In terms of performance, the three major components have increased dramatically (processor spped, RAM size and Hard Drive size). And they continue to increase. The products in development today, which will be available in coming years, are dramatically better than what is available today. Also, the computer programs and operating systems have evolved to enhance ease of use.

Random access memory (RAM) is the best known form of computer memory. RAM is considered \"random access\" because you can access any memory cell directly if you know the row and column that intersect at that cell. When you have programs running ram, stores them, the more ram you have the more applicatios you can have open.
