The Windows logo on your keyboard is the Windows key. It is used for shortcuts like opening the start menu, which you can do at any time by pressing the Windows key, and minimizing all open windows, which you can do by holding down the Windows key and pressing D.

The shifted back-slash key (not the slash key), usually located above the Enter key, will produce a vertical bar with most computer fonts. On the keyboard this vertical bar is usually shown broken in the middle. This is how that character looks in this font: |

In the standard ASCII character set, this character is ASCII code 124 (decimal), which is 7C (hexadecimal, or hex).

In windows, Ctrl + C will store selected text in the clipboard (copy it) so you can use it later. Ctrl + V will paste the stored text into any location where you can enter text. You can use these shortcuts when you want to move text around or when you want to copy a block of text multiple times.

On a mac, it's option+n, then press n. On a windows vista, it's command+alt+164. And the "n with the squiggly thing over it" is called eñe (pronounced en-nyay).

You could also enter "Ctrl + Shift + Squiggly line (on upper left hand corner)" simultaneously, let go, then push "n".

It does not have a normal qwerty keyboard, but all the letters of the alphabet are there.

The purpose of the AlphaSmart Pro keyboard is that it has a PS/2 port and an ADB port, which makes it compatible with Windows PCS and Mac's. Also, it has a feature called "find" which can search store text. Another purpose it that it is able to receive text from a computer by using a software called "Get Utility". Finally, it has a password feature. These are the purposes of the AlphaSmart Pro keyboard.

The name "QWERTY" for our computer keyboard comes from the first six letters in the top alphabet row (the one just below the numbers). It is also referred to as the "Universal" keyboard. It was the work of inventor C. L. Sholes, who put together the prototypes of the first commercial typewriter in a Milwaukee machine shop back in the 1860's

Files is any set of information or commands stored on your computer.

A database is a collection of "files" that are interconnected or along the same subject...think customer's account information.

While a database on a computer is a file, or set of files, a file does not have to be a database.

You can boot with any computer without a keyboard unless you have multiple OS's installed and you set an option in your BIOS to where you have to select which OS you want to boot.

Older computers refused to boot unless a keyboard was present. However, newer computers allow you to boot without a keyboard, and you can then plug in the keyboard after the boot.
