No WD40 is not good for your computer. To clean the outside of your computer you should use a damp cloth with warm soap and water. How do you get rid of tracking cookie 2o7?

Disabling history and cookies in firefox did not work for me. Neither did cookie deletion tools. I have free AVG which managed to block it each time it tried to launch. There is a little pop-up in the lower part of the screen which announced this. I hit the "print screen" key and pasted this into paint. With enough time to read the location I located the file pointed to in the firefox profile folder and deleted (wiped) it with Jetico's BC wipe (free to download and use). Simple deletion to trash may also work as well.

How do you fix a boot error when booting from a USB configured by Sardu?

This was a BIOS settings issue.

In the BIOS of this Asus netbook I found a second setting, which also had to be set with "USB" as 1st boot device.

When I found this setting, the 'Boot Settings' dialog box had the following categories:

"Boot Device Priority".

"Hard Disk Drives":

It was necessary to additionally set "USB" as 1st boot device within the "Hard Disk Drives" category.

In here its default settings were:

"HDD"

"USB".

When do you run disk defragmenter?

Disk defrag must be run regularly (or set to auto defrag) to keep the hard drive free of fragmentation and maintain the performance of the computer at a high level. Fragmentation of files (occurs 'naturally' when you write or modify a file on the hard drive).

Windows comes with a built-in defragmenter, but it's not very good IMO: it's very slow, doesn't defrag all files (especially important system files), doesn't defrag properly when disk space is low, and is not flexible.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Its good to be proactive when it comes to defrag because once the fragmentation levels become high or if your free space drops below 15%, it be comes very difficult to defrag with the native disk dferagmenter. It also takes a very long time to complete the defrag.

How do you replace HP Compaq NC6000 battery?

Close the laptop. Turn it upside down the front facing you.

There should be two sliding switches.

The left one with the rectangular icon etched near it is for releasing the battery.

Slide the switch and hold it.

The battery is located in the lower left part of the laptop. While you are holding the switch, slide the battery sideways away from the laptop.

When inserting the battery just slide it in until you hear a click. If the battery is inncorectly orientated it won't fit in the slot.
