A byte can hold one of data?

A byte is a measure of memory in the computer, 8 bits is equal to one byte, a bit is a binary value of 1 or 0, you cannot really measure how much memory it can hold.

Why sheard RAM in hardware?

Often times, motherboards that have the video card built-in will have to share video memory with system memory.

What is the Sternberg paradigm?

The Sternberg paradigm is a measure of working memory based on reaction time taken for scanning the Short Term Memory which has been sparingly rehearsed. Sternbergs 2 primary questions are:

1.Is the scanning parallel or serially done?

2. Is the scanning self terminating or exhaustive?

Based on these questions a test is conducted in which a list of 1 to 6 numbers is given to participants to memorize. Thereafter they are asked if a particular number was present in a list or not. The test is based on the Reaction Time taken by the participants.

What is after brontobyte?

After brontobyte there is nisabyte/geobyte (there are two names for it) and after that is zotzabyte.

What uses magnetic particles to store items on a disks surface?

Magnetic Disks, otherwise known as 'Floppy disks'.

The last generation of these disks were 3 1/2" and used a ridgid plastic case, to contain the magnetic disk within. Not very floppy.

The early versions were 7" and 5" and were contained in soft plastic outer sleeves. These were actually floppy.

What is larger 64mb memory or 128mb ram?

The 128mb memory is larger because RAM is a type of memory and obviously 128 is more than 64.

How do you make a cardboard battering ram?

A battering ram is typically used by police in order to open a locked door more quickly. Making a battering ram out of cardboard will not be as effective as a using one made out of metal, because the cardboard is not as sturdy or heavy as metal.

How many kilobytes in a gigabyte?

There are 1,048,576 kilobytes per gigabyte.

Note: a kilobyte is 1,024 bytes, a megabyte is 1,024 kilobytes and a gigabyte is 1,024 megabytes.

State the difference between a RAM and ROM memory cell?

RAM

1.It is Random access memory

2.It is a volatile memory.

3.It help the computer to boost the speed.

4.Range of RAM lies between 64 MB to 4 GB.

5. IT is an integrated chip located in the motherboard.

6.It is very costly in price and its shape is long rectangular chip.

7.It store data temporary.

ROM

1. It is called Read only memory.

2.It is a non volatile memory chip.

3.It store data permanently.

4.They are also called Permanent storage memory.

5.ROM is not used to boost the speed of computer.

6.Data stored in ROM cannot be deleted.

Volatile means it will delete all the data stored in it if the power of computer goes off and vice-versa.

What is the three major distinctions between storage and memory?

1. There is more room in the storage than in the memory.

2. contents are retained in storage when you turn the computer off, whereas the programs or data you put into memory disappear when you shut down the computer.

3. storage is very slow compared to memory, but is more cheaper than memory

What are the advantages - or disadvantages - of adding more RAM to your computer?

The only possible disadvantage to adding RAM is incompatibility. However, if you do your research and get the proper type of RAM from a good source, there are only advantages: your computer will run faster and smoother; you can use more types of software; and you will be able to use newer types of hardware.

I would recommend getting as much RAM as you can afford. The newest and most you can get is often overpriced. Wait until it drops down or get the second-highest amount. In the computer world, the latest thing is always expensive and a couple of months later it will be much less in price. Lastly, don't pay for installation. RAM is one of the easiest things to install and you can find good directions on the Internet.

How can I wipe absolutely everything off of a Dell Inspiron 1200 Hard drive I want to start completely over and dont have the Dell disk your supposed to use and cant get online?

well mate, your disk that you are talking about contains all the drivers and lets say you format your hard disk completely and install windows again, you will have to re install all the drivers again so my advice is that first you find out your dell driver disk (The one which is labelled with drivers on top). If you can find that than you can take the next step, use an windows cd\dvd (If you lost that too, you can buy a new one) to a comlete new install, to clean whole disk, you can delete and make new partitions or you can format partitions othar than windows one after installing a fresh copy of windows.

And if you don't have any thing than call dell customer support and ask what your options are (Usually You Can Buy A New Set Of Discs).

How do memory modules of different speeds work together?

When memory modules of different speeds are used together, the system operates at the speed of the slowest module. This means that while the faster memory can potentially handle higher data transfer rates, it will be restricted to the performance of the slower memory. This can lead to suboptimal performance if the speed discrepancy is significant. However, the system will still function, allowing for increased capacity at the expense of maximum speed.
