What are different types of output devices?

For computers, the main output devices are the monitor, speakers and printer (or multi-function device, like printer/scanner/copier). You could also consider an external drive (hard drive, CD/DVD burner, flashdrive or thumbdrive) to be a sort of output device, although that's using the term very loosely, because they are really data storage media.

Compare the merits and demerits of raster and random scanning system?

Raster-scan system:-
1)raster displays have less resolution.
2)the lines produced are ziz-zag as the plotted values are discrete.
3)high degree realism is achived in picture with the aid of advanced shading and hidden surface technique.
4)decreasing memory costs have made raster systems popular.
5)In this case, the electron beam is swept across the screen, one row at a time from top to bottom.
6)Picture definition is stored in a memory area called the refresh buffer/frame buffer.
7)Refreshing on raster scan displays is carried out at the rate of 60 to 80 frames/second. Random scan system:-
1)random displays have high resolutions since the picture definition is stored as a set of line drawing commands and not as a set of intensity values.
2)smooth lines are produced as the electron beam directly follows the line path.
3)realism is difficult to achieve.
4)random-scan system's are generally costlier.
5)Here CRT has the electron beam directly only to the parts of the screen where a picture is to be drawn.
6)Picture definition is stored as a set of line drawing commands in an area of memory referred to as refresh display file.
7)Random scan systems are designed to draw all the component lines of a picture 30 to 60 times each second.

What does a DVi-VGA cable do?

A DVI-D cable is a digital video display connector used in computers. It supports the same resolutions as VGA which has been the analog standard for many years. Digital signals do not suffer from timing errors that can sometimes reduce the clarity of an image delivered with VGA.

Note that there are two other formats. DVI-A uses the DVI connector but it carries an analog signal identical to that of VGA connector. A DVI-I carries both digital and analog signals and therefore provides two video links within the same cable.

Finally, DVI digital signals are compatible with HDMI video signals. DVI does not carry sound in either digital or analog video formats whereas HDMI supports sound within the same cable.

How do you make image smaller on computer screen?

Pressing <Ctrl><->, the control key at the same time as the "-" (minus) key makes the characters displayed smaller. Pressing <Ctrl><+>, the control key at the same time as the "+" (plus) key makes the characters displayed larger. for Windows: Go to Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display i don't think you can make it smaller just bigger.

For Apple computers, hold down the Command key and press the minus key (the plus key will make the type bigger).

Classification of monitor based on signal?

There are different types of monitors including the TFT monitor, the CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) monitor and the LCD monitor. The LCD monitor uses a liquid crystal to display color and light variations.

What is the appropiate method of cleaning an LCD screen?

The best way to clean your LCD screen is using a cleaner recommended by the manufacture But, the cleaner is expensive and you can make your own. It is a mixture of 50% Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol (no less than 80%,) and 50% DISTILLED Water. Place this mixture into a spray bottle (empty glass cleaner works great) that will spray a fine mist. Using a soft, lint free cloth (NO PAPER TOWELS) spray mixture on the cloth. Wipe screen in a circular motion with gentle even pressure, do not press to hard. If cloth is to wet, and the screen seems to be streaking, you can go back over screen with a dry cloth. I use amicrofiber cloth, the kind that are for cleaning eye glasses.

*NOTE : Please do not use tap water as it contains minerals that may scratch your screen.

In LED monitors what does LED stands for?

LED means "light emitting diode." That is a semiconductor that produces light. LEDs are found on various parts of a computer. Some are used such as on the front panel to show that the computer is in use. Some are used for status lights, speed indicators, temperature gauges, and for decoration.

Then of course there are LED-based computer monitors. They use an entire sheet of many tiny LEDs which are connected to driver circuitry and are used the same way as traditional CRT-based computer monitors. The overall result is the same - electrons excite a rare material and cause it to glow, but the method is different. CRT monitors used a high voltage electron beam to strike phosphors on the front of the CRT tube. LED and LCD monitors use lower voltage that is directly applied to the material, and the result is the same - it glows.

How 1600 x 1600 pixels in inches?

There is no way to give a real answer for that. Pixels do not have a consistent size, so they can't be universally converted. Pixels change size depending on the density of the thing displaying them (72 dots per inch is typical for screens and 300 dpi is typically selected for something that will be printed as form of Quality Photo). For screens size differs based on "Pitch" of the screen(distance between two consecutive pixels) thus even small screens with low pitch value can display high resolutions!

However, to simply measure the width and height of your monitor at high accuracy just use the "Jruler" application

How do you be good class monitor?

Set Up
  • You may be asked to help set up the classroom just as the teacher wants it, moving any chairs or tables as needed. Occasionally, you may need to sweep the classroom and wipe the desks and chairs down with a rag or dust cloth.

Help New Students

You may be given the power to send students to the principal, to detention or to another authority within the school when students misbehave. You will also be given a school policy book so that you can help enforce the school rules.

What is the most common way to connect a computer to a monitor?

For years the most common connector has been a VGA or DB-15 analog connector. Most laptops still use the analog connection. However, today the Digital Visual Interface (DVI) is becoming the standard. There are several styles of DVI connector.

See links below for more complete explanations of these connectors.

What is grayscale monitor?

the various shades / tints of gray between white and black - the human eye cant see very many shades so 256 shades is enough to cover what the eye can see - which is why a gif image with 256 levels can show black and white photos perfectly but not color photos which require millions of combinations
