Why do people believe in evolution?

First of all, let's make it clear that there is a distinction between evolution the biological phenomenon on one side, and evolution the model explaining observations in terms of what we know about that phenomenon on the other. I propose that acceptance of an observed fact is hardly an interesting subject for a question and that the above question therefore deals exclusively with the acceptance of the theoretical model of evolution.

There can be any number of reasons for people to believe in evolutionary theory.

The first category of 'believers' is of course the one that contains the scientists in relevant fields of research, such as evolutionary biologists, palaeontologists, geneticists, molecular biologists, developmental biologists, and so on. They accept evolutionary theory as fundamentally accurate because it has been verified, proven to be a fundamentally accurate reflection of the available data. As the people in this group are intimately familiar with both the proposed theories and hypotheses as well as the observational data on which they are based, they have good reason to do so.

But the group of people accepting evolutionary theory because of their familiarity with the subject matter and supporting data is not at all limited to scientists. Many laymen have a more or less proficient understanding of the proposed models, as well as the relevant observational data, and, not unimportantly, scientific principles in general.

There is a much larger group of people that are remotely aware of the existence of the theory and some of the supporting observations, but not intimately enough to form an educated opinion for themselves. Many of these people accept evolutionary theory primarily on the basis that it's the prevailing (and indeed only) theory among experts in the relevant fields of science. This is a more or less valid reason to accept any scientific model, but it will be clear that such people cannot be expected to argue the correctness of their belief in other terms.

A group of people that is perhaps equally large simply don't ponder the question. Perhaps because they have more important matters to attend to (like surviving), perhaps because such matters are simply never brought under their attention, or perhaps because the subject simply doesn't interest them. While they cannot be said to actively reject the model, they can't be said to deny it either, which is why I will mention them here.

Finally, there will be a much smaller group of people who believe evolutionary theory is true, not because of knowledge of the subject, or trust in the scientific establishment, but for personal or ideological motivations, such as an inability to accept claims involving gods or aliens.

Another AnswerThere can be any number of reasons for people to believe in evolutionary theory. These are the ones that are the scientists in relevant fields of research, such as evolutionary biologists, palaeontologists, geneticists, molecular biologists, developmental biologists, and so on. People believe in evolution because that is a fact of science, just as they believe in gravity and the Theory of Relativity.

,

Charles Darwin, although not the first to recognise that species must have evolved over the ages, spent several decades of his life researching his Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection. When you have read The Origin of Species, that research is an impressive achievement.

,

Others have continued the work of Darwin, over the ensuing 150 years. And the fossil record had added significantly to our understanding of evolution.

AnswerPeople believe in evolution because they believe it to be a fact of science. The fact that they frequently liken evolution to proven laws of science such as the Law of Gravity is certainly misleading if not downright deceptive in purely scientific terms. The Law of Gravity is both testable and repeatable in the present. It has no known exceptions or contradictions which is why it has the status of a 'Law' of science since it adequately describes proven scientific facts.

Evolution on the other hand cannot at all be likened to the law of gravity since it has not been proven. It also has many scientific facts against it. The fact that those who believe it frequently liken it or seek to associate it with the Law of Gravity indicates that they have more than just science in mind. They fervently believe in it as part of a naturalistic world view.

Some other people, possibly the majority, believe evolution because they have been taught it in school as a fact of science and are not aware of the whole picture which science has to offer. Nor are they aware of the many facts of science which are against it, nor of the deliberate frauds which have been put forward in favor of it.

Darwin himself saw problems with the many gaps in the fossil record in his day but believed they would be 'filled in' in time. However, despite much more research the missing links are still missing. The fossil record has indeed added significantly to the scientific understanding of the tenuous status of the theory of evolution. It does not support it. This adds further to the perception that belief in evolution is more than just following the scientific facts.

AnswerBecause among the many theories about the origin of man (and animals) it is only Evolution that is supported by tangible evidences (all others are mere hypothesis, conjectures at most wistful thinking) although not complete but are still evidences. Evolution is irresistibly here. What started as a snowball will eventually turn into an avalanche. AnswerBecause of the overwhelming evidence supporting evolutionary theory.

Why does existence exist?

Because God spoke the Universe into existence.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Existence exists because you have a mind capable of perceiving it's existence. And also the big bang didn't hurt.

Existence has no known meaning in this realm alone. All existence is designed to hold itself together with balance within itself. Eventually, hopefully, we will find out the meaning of our existence.

What came before God?

nothing At the moment of Creation / Big Bang whatever you want to call it, everything was created. Einstein in his Theories of relativity pointed out that even time was created at this moment. So there wasn't a 'before' to worry about. It's like saying 'what letter comes before A in the alphabet?' - there isn't one. And there was nothing before God. If God is eternal as the Bible says, he is not confined by time and space. Another opinionActually...you came before god or you would not be able to ask the question... think about it

What are God's creations?

Well, it depends on whom you ask. Normally, different religions answer differently.

Atheists do not believe gods exist -- well, except that Man created them to help explain the origin of everything.

God created everything. Some things specifically mentioned in the Bible are Heaven and Earth, Light, Firmament Heaven, Dry Land and Seas, Vegetation, Sun, Moon and Stars, Sea Creatures and Birds, Cattle, Beasts and Creeping Animals, Man and Woman and Angels.

Everywhere one looks, one sees His handiwork. And it is there awaiting our awe when we discover it in places we haven't been able to see yet.

According to Christian beliefs, God created everything. Such as day, night, humans, oceans, animals, etc.

How does resurection affect christians?

All men will be resurrected from the dead. That is their spirits will be re-united with their physical bodies never again to be separated. This is a free gift from Jesus Christ to all people who have ever lived on earth, good and bad, Christian and unbelievers alike. Now for the rest for the story. After the resurrection comes the judgment of our deeds done in mortality wither they be good or wither they be evil, and in answer to the question Christians or those who choose to follow Christ will fare better than those who reject Christ.

Who is Prince Arjuna?

Arjuna is a hero in the Hindu epic, Mahabharata.

Is life meaningless?

Answer

No, life is not meaningless, because you have some meaning and something to give in life, and you always make an impact whether positive or negative. You could perhaps join a religion or social group. You can contribute to the world and shape it in so many ways.

So the answer is no, life is not meaningless, life is what you make of it and what you do in life that counts.

Opinion or AnswerSomething that plagues me everyday. I thought about this for a long time, whether, when given the size of the universe, if what I decide to do has any meaning, and the conclusion I have come up with is this: Life exists without me just fine, and no matter how large the scale, all things exist at different sizes or levels of importance, and that "meaning" is a human or individual idea. You can find importance in whatever you do, because the scale of our perspective will keep getting bigger and bigger, but never make any relative difference on our activities. Our lives can mean whatever we assign them to mean.

Is revolution good or bad?

Revolution can have both positive and negative consequences. It can lead to transformative social and political change, challenging oppressive systems and promoting justice and equality. However, revolutions can also result in violence, instability, and loss of life, and the aftermath may not always bring the desired improvements.

What is the Gap theory?

The so-called "Gap Theory" is a conjecture about a possible interval between the first two verses in Genesis 1. Among other things, it attempts to deal with the creation of the angels, the fall of Lucifer, and related topics. According to this theory:

(1). God created a fully-functional earth in Verse 1 which had a very wide range of animal and plant life, including fish, mammals and dinosaurs, and others that are known today only from their fossils;

(2). Satan's fall occurred sometime in the gap between verse 1 and verse 2 (which is why it's called the Gap theory!)

(3). The earth was laid waste as a result of Satan's rebellion;

(4). God remade earth into a paradise again in 6 days of re-creation.

(5). This then harmonizes the Bible account with the fossil record and science.

This theory is not held by many today because of Biblical and theological problems.

What makes man truly human?

Another answer from our community:

Love and compassion for his fellow creatures here on earth!

Love.love, not in bed love, but real honest to god love.like true love.

How were people created by God?

With the exception of mankind, we are only told what God made, not how He made it. That fact is in order to stress mankind's importance.

To make man, God fashioned the appropriate shape from dirt and breathed a soul into it (Genesis ch.2). He then made the first woman by fashioning her from a piece of the man's flesh (ibid).

Note that the Torah, in describing the Creation, deliberately employs brevity and ellipsis, just as it does in many other topics. See the Talmud, Hagigah 11b.

What is a chart that illustrated the similarities and different from big bang theory and creationism?

There are no similarities.

Creationists compare the big bang theory to the genesis creation account because they assume that it's the secular "explaination for everything". It isn't.

It's the explaination for the expanding universe. The universe is expanding from a single point, therefore it had to have started there, qed, there was a rapid expansion of time-space 14 or so billion years ago, as measured/calculated by astrophysicists.

What is the First Nations creation story?

If by "First Nations" you mean American Indians, then each tribe has its own.

The Navajos climbed up (through a hollow reed) from an earlier earth that was drowned. (That was the fourth earth, and this is the fifth.)

The Hopi hold that life survived in three different underworlds after each different world (the first, second and third) were destroyed. (Interestingly, the last world was destroyed by flood.) Their beliefs also include that this forth world is ending and a fifth world is beginning.

What are the main ideas in Creationism?

  • The principle idea behind creationism is that the origin of natural objects is supernatural. As an example, the Judeo/Christian tradition is that the land, sky, plants and animals were created by a supernatural being called God. Within this basic idea are themes are variations; some cultures believe that plants and animal species are unchanging, others believe that different species can arise from existing species but the "original" species were put into being in a supernatural way. Some think the creation event happened very recently - within historical times - others place the event in "deep" time; thousands of millions of years before the present era (BPE).

Some people have passionate (although not necessarily seriously thought out) feelings about this. It should be emphasized that amongst the scientific community it really is only a tiny minority (as in less than 1%) who consider a supernatural solution at all plausable. Such solutions are not discussed in any peer-reviewed scientific publications, except as critiques.

  • Many cultures and religions have creation myths; IMHO, the Hindu one is particularly beautiful and places the creation date of the Earth not that far from the date which has been calculated from radioactive and Sun formation theory dates.
  • Ultimately, it is a literal interpretation of a particular Creation story, of which there are dozens, depending on the culture. As far as reasoning and evidence are concerned, there are no "main ideas". In my opinion, Creationism stems from an ignorance of modern science.
  • The main ideas in Creationism are that God created the Heavens and the Earth and that we did not come from organisms or monkeys.

What is the meaning of the word 'creation'?

Definition of Creation

  • From the Greek root kreas, which means flesh.
  • When something new is made.
  • Biblically, when producing something from nothing.
  • The divine act by which, according to various religious and philosophical traditions, the world was brought into existence.

Answer2: The art of creating, or causing existence of, someone or something. It can also refer to that which has been created or brought into existence. Creation, as explained in the Bible, means that Almighty God designed and brought into existence the universe, including spirit persons and the basic kinds of life upon the earth. The Hebrew ba.ra' and the Greek kti'zo both meaning "create, " are used exclusively with reference to divine creation. Throughout the Scriptures Jehovah God is identified as the Creator. Isaiah 45:18. (see Insight on the Scriptures vol 1 p 256 on Jehovah's Witnesses official website)

Is there a Bible passage or verse to help people believe in God and creationism despite the scientific evidence of evolution and how the world was created?

There is no single verse in the Bible that will end all discussions on Creationism and Evolution. The first book of the Bible, Genesis, does give an account of how the world was created.

Even Creationists believe in some forms of evolution, such as a population of lizards who spends its entire life in a cave, in total darkness. The lizards will eventually develop ways to see in the darkness, so they evolve and adapt. The theory of Evolution however is far more drastic than this, stating that all life was created from a single cell, although it offers no explanation or any evidence for the cell or what forces began the process needed to form life from that cell.

If you are truly interested in learning more about how the Bible teaches Creationism and explains life, you will find researching Apologetics, which is Greek for "the defense", or as the apostle Paul said "defending the gospel". There are many books available on the subject and they give a counterpoint to the explanations that science has for the subject of how the world was created. Answer

  • Physical universe: The Bible describes the designer of it as the true God; "the Creator of the heavens and the Grand One stretching them out." Isa. 42:5; 40:26; Ps. 19:1.
  • Planet Earth: The Bible's conclusion is reasonable when it states: "Of course, every house is constructed by someone, but he that constructed all things is God." Heb. 3:4.
  • Human brain: Bible writer David said to God: "I shall laud you because in a fear-inspiring way I am wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, as my soul is very well aware." Ps. 139:14.
  • Living cell: The words of Psalm 104:24: "How many your works are, O God! All of them in wisdom you have made"!
AnswerYou will find evidence of creationism in the first two chapters of Genesis, wherein God creates the world and everything in it. Interestingly, most people who point to this as the infallible word of God tend to ignore the fact that there are two different versions of the creation story in Genesis. Genesis 1:11And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. (1:11-13)

"Let the earth bring forth grass" Plants are made on the third day before there was a sun to drive their photosynthetic processes (1:14-19). Notice, though, that God lets "the earth bring forth" the plants, rather than creating them directly. Maybe Genesis is not so anti-evolution after all.

Answer: Wait a minute . Firstly it is unfortunate that so many feel that they have to believe "despite the evidence". In fact the evidence of modern science is being shown to be very much in support of creation. One of the best known Atheists of the 20th Century Anthony Flew actually gave up his Atheism because of the evidence for design, which he saw in DNA (this is of course not to assume he became a Christian before his death). The bible itself encourages us to 'ask, seek and knock' (Matthew 7:7-8) and this is what led many of the great scientists of the past such as Keppler, Newton, and Maxwell to seek to understand God's creation. Many PhD scientists today also believe in biblical creation, whether they are involved in specific creationist research or other science. It is important to understand this before we go on to some extra Bible verses.

One of the best passages actually prophecies many of the current attitudes toward the bible and the creation.

2 Peter 3:3-6 " Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was being overflowed with water perished:"

Willing ignorance is the attitude the Bible here uses to describe those who ignore the evidence which is before their eyes.

Another good verse is found in Jeremiah 10:12 "He has made the earth by his power, he has established the world by his wisdom, and has stretched out the heavens by his discretion."

Here is something to think about: despite decades of research, scientist have yet to come up with an explanation evolution that they can all agree on. Scientists cannot agree on evolution-and they are supposed to be experts.

Scientist claim everything in the universe came as a result of a random big bang

1. Who or what caused the big bang?2. Which makes more sense-that everything came from nothing or that everything came from someone?

Scientist claim humans evolved from animals.

3. If humans evolved from animals-from apes, for example-why is there such a huge gap between the intellectual abilities of humans and those of apes?4. Why are even the most "basic" forms of life so incredibly complex?

Scientist claim evolution is fact.

5. Has the person making this claim investigated the evidence for himself?6. How many people believe in evolution simply because they have been told that all intelligent people believe in it?"If you were walking through the forest and discovered a beautiful house, would you think: 'How fascinating! The trees must have fallen in just the right way to make this house.' Of course not! It's just not reasonable. So why should we believe that everything in the universe just happened to come about?""Imagine that someone told you that there was an explosion at a printing plant and that the ink spattered onto the walls and ceilings and formed the text of an unabridged dictionary. Would you believe it?"

See Jehovah's official website for something to think about.

When did the teaching of Creationism start?

The oldest book known to man is the Bible. It predates all other books on any subject, including religious writings by hundreds, even thousnads of years.

The first Bible writer, by tradition of biblical scholars, was a man named Moses (it has not been historically established that this Moses existed). It has been calculated by scholars that the book of Genesis, which is famous for it's creation account was written around 1513 B.C.E., which was a little over 3500 years ago. Obviously, if a person believes in the existence of a literal Adam and Eve, they would accept that the teaching of creationism goes back to them. But Moses reports that there were others that also believed in a creator. One such individual that Moses tells us about was a man named Abel. We know that Abel believed in a creator, because he is reported to have offered a sacrifice to the creator.(Gen Ch 4) Abel lived somewhere around 3900 B.C.E. Still others after Abel believed in a creator. Enoch (3404 B.C.E.), Methusaleh (3339 B.C.E.), Noah (2970 B.C.E.), and more. Some are reported to have been aware of a creator, but refused to submit to the creator, such as a man named Nimrod (c. 2300 B.C.E). The teaching of creationism goes back as far as man's earliest existence, but there is written documentation that helps as well.

There are many many written accounts of the creation of earth, the universe and of mankind. The majority of these predate the Hebrew account of genesis. Creation by a deity of some kind is the earliest explanation mankind was able to develop concerning his own existence. So, I would say that a philosophy of creation has been taught ever since people began asking the question.

Answer:

One thing that researchers agree upon is that mankind has always believed in a Higher Power. Archaeology has shown that no ancient society ever existed that did not believe in the supernatural.

Based upon a massive worldwide study of the most ancient inscriptions and the earliest levels of civilization, Dr. Wilhelm Schmidt (in his twelve-volume Der Ursprung Der Gottesidee) concluded that the original belief was monotheistic1. It was a simple belief in the Creator (Sky-Father) with no imagery of any kind. The Torah of Moses simply reinstates the belief in Creation in its original purity. The belief itself goes all the way back to Creation. Notes: 1) Albright, "From the Stone Age," p.170; and J.A. Wilson, "The Culture of Ancient Egypt," p.129.

Who started creationism?

Answer:God started it on day one of creation. Mankind has believed it from the beginning of creation, since man was there and a part of it. Adam and Eve know the story to be true. A more appropriate question would be "Who started the idea of evolution?" because that is a fairly new belief. You will not find any writings as old as the Bible that teach evolution. AnswerMost anthropologists agree that religiosity (and creationist stories) began sometime around 50,000-200,000 years ago, although it might have been quite a bit earlier but that is when the first good evidence for religion appears. Every culture since has attempted to explain their existence by invoking a different version of creationism. AnswerIf you are referring to the modern young earth creation movement, then the book, The Genesis Flood, by the late Dr Henry Morris and Dr John Whitcomb in 1961 was an important starting point. Dr Morris has been called the father of the modern creation movement.
Creationism has existed in some form for around 6000 years, as per the records of Jewish and then Christian society. In its modern form, creationism sprung up around the same time as evolution, as a response to defend against what was seen as a threat to their faith.

The people who developed both are either not known in the first case, or many and varied in the second.

Were did the word alien come from?

Alien is the Latin word meaning "someone not from here", it was used to refer to foreigners

Why was life created?

There are many reasons why life exists on Earth...

REASON ONE: ATMOSPHERE

Earth has a breathable atmosphere. Oxygen is the gas that is required for the life of most creatures. This is present in Earth's atmosphere, along with nitrogen, and in water, along with hydrogen. Oxygen is constantly put into the atmosphere by plants and trees. Fortunately, Earth's atmosphere does not contain much carbon dioxide, a poisonous gas which makes up most of the atmosphere of planets like Venus and Mars. In densely populated areas, carbon dioxide is more present. This is because cars and factories produce it. This causes the air to be polluted. The Earth's atmosphere is kept on the planet by its pull of gravity. Mars and Mercury are too small to keep atmosphere. As a result, Mercury has no atmosphere, and Mars' atmosphere is very thin, containing gases which have not managed to escape into space yet. Earth's atmosphere is thick enough to prevent poisonous rays of radiation from getting through it (this is what has happened on Mars).

REASON TWO: CLIMATE

Earth has a suitable climate. This is caused by the moderate amount of carbon dioxide in the planet's atmosphere, which is constantly refreshed whenever there is a volcanic eruption. The temperature on Earth does not go from one extreme to the other either. Mercury can be anything from 200°c below freezing to 375°c above. At 375°c, water would only exist as a gas, and the planet would be completely dry. Venus has a surface temperature of 480°c, which would be much too hot for anybody to live in. Mars, although it can reach 25°c, can be as cold as -140°c, a temperature which would freeze blood and water. The other planets are colder still.

REASON THREE: WATER

Earth has water! Water is believed to be the most important chemical necessary for life. It contains the oxygen needed for life. Other liquids contain poisonous elements. Water doesn't burn skin (like liquids containing acids do), it is drinkable, and it allows life providing molecules to move around easily. Other moons in the Solar System, such as Europa, a moon of Jupiter, are believed to have oceans of water under its icy surface. Scientists believe that, if they could find traces of water on Mars, the possibility of life existing on that planet would be greatly increased. Water on Earth can be found anywhere, in its three states. It can be frozen, taking the form of ice. It can be liquid, seen in seas and oceans and lakes. It can also be a gas, seen as clouds. In the picture below, we can see water in its three states; a solid, a liquid and a gas. The blue glow at the top of the Earth is the planet's thin atmosphere.

REASON FOUR: LIGHT

All planets receive light from the Sun, but no planet uses it as usefully as Earth. Trees and plants on the planet produce oxygen through a process called photosynthesis. Plants need the Sun to grow. Look at plants in windows and notice how they usually seem to grow towards the Sun. Try growing a plant in a dark room and in a light room. Notice which one grows quicker. The one which has grown quickest is the one which also produces more oxygen. It is believed that if we were able to get plants to grow on another planet, such as Mars, they would begin putting oxygen into the planet's atmosphere and increase the possibility of life. Saturn's moon, Titan, has an atmosphere containing mainly nitrogen. If this moon was to possess oxygen too in its atmosphere, by a plant photosynthesising on it, it could have a similar atmosphere to Earth. Something else which helps the plants to photosynthesise on Earth is the length of time the planet takes to spin once on its axis. Taking just under 24 hours means that each side of the planet receives sunlight regularly. If we look at a planet like Venus, which takes 243 days to spin on its axis, it means that for a large period of time certain parts of the planet are in complete darkness. So even if the planet could support life, it would struggle to do so.

REASON FIVE: THE SUN

All of the reasons given above for life existing on Earth are only possible because of one main reason. The Sun! Put simply, if there was no Sun, there would be no life on Earth. Technically, Earth probably wouldn't exist either! Because of Earth's ideal distance from the Sun, it receives the perfect amount of heat and light to allow life to be created and to support it. Imagine what would happen if the Sun suddenly vanished. How would you keep warm? How would you see? How would you get food and drink? How would plants and trees grow? How would they photosynthesise? Where would Earth go? The Sun's gravity keeps Earth in its orbit, but if the Sun vanished, Earth would simply float away.

What do Christians think about old earth versus new earth theory?

Christians are divided between; From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Old Earth creationism is a variant of the creationist view of the origin of the universe and life on Earth. As a theory of origins it is typically more compatible with mainstream scientific thought on the issues of geology, cosmology and the age of the Earth, in comparison to Young Earth creationism. However, it still generally takes the accounts of creation in Genesis more literally than theistic evolution (or evolutionary creationism).

Old Earth creationism is in fact an umbrella term for a number of perspectives, including Gap creationism and Progressive creationism. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Young Earth creationism is the religious belief that the Earth and life on Earth were created by a direct act of God dating between 6,000 and 10,000 years ago. Its adherents are Christians, Muslims or Jews who believe that God created the Earth in six 24-hour days, taking the Hebrew text of Genesis as a literal account.

Why in the statues of Buddha does the Buddhas hand touch the ground in the enlightenment pose?

While Siddhartha was meditating in his quest for enlightenment the demon Mara appeared and tried to distract and tempt him but he resisted the temptations. Ultimately he touched the earth under the bodhi-tree and called upon her, the earth, to testify that he deserved to be left alone, based on his previous good deeds. The earth granted that to him and he reached enlightenment becoming the Buddha.

Is it true that the earth is only 6000 years old?

Great scientists of the past such as Newton and Keppler were often strongly religious and calculated dates that were not very different from the well known 4004 BC date provided by Ussher. Those who hold to a 6000 year age of the earth do so firstly because they believe the Bible to be the only truly reliable record about the past -given to us by a God who was there and who knows what happened. They also recognize that since the world is open to scientific inquiry, evidence can and has indeed been uncovered which puts the earth much more reasonably into the 6000 year age group.

It is also true to say that while many people believe the world to be 4.6 billion years old, this is not known, since there are many problems with dating methods -including not just the three unprovable assumptions on which they rest, but the notable fact that when the dates for rocks which supposedly are absolute age indicators do not agree with what the geologist already thinks is the probable date of the rocks, they are either discarded or explained away.

The finding of significant amounts of data which indicate the earth is actually close to 6000 years old can also support this conclusion in purely scientific terms.

HUMAN POPULATION

Creationists point to the current world population growth rate of 1.7% and contrast this with the 0.5% that would be needed to reach our current world population from Noah and his family after the flood 4,500 years ago, with the creation around 1500 years before that. This would thus include great catastrophes such as the post-flood ice-age and the Great Plague or Black Death which killed a large part of the population of Europe in the Middle Ages.

Creationists also point out that this is a great challenge to evolutionists to explain if their theory were true since there should be, with the much longer time periods involved:

1. A vastly larger human population.

2. A much greater quantity of human remains in the earth than are actually found.

3. Evidence for the alleged catastrophes that repeatedly (allegedly) nearly wiped out the entire human population.

Believing none of the evolutionary explanations can be demonstrated scientifically, creationists suggest they have the better explanation for what we actually find.

What does alien eat?

According to NASA it seems that MARS chocolate bars are what they eat.
