How much is a 1976 Datsun 280z worth?
whats the condition and does it run? because that makes a huge difference.
There may be a loose or broken wire in the ignition switch. The wire is the one that leads from the ignition switch to the starter solenoid/relay.
In 2009 will your 1979 Datsun be smog exempt?
NO, Atleast not in california. Gov. Arhold put a stop to this in 2005 i believe... so only 1975 and earlier cars are smog exempt
The heat of the metal gets really REALLY high.
Solid -> Liquid -> Gas
Solids are colder, liquids inbetween, and gas hot.
The atoms or molecules separate due to the heat being stronger than the bonds
Edit - Not all elements have the same temperatures for melting and boiling.
1972 Datsun 510 left side headlights work fine right side is very dim?

Where is the clutch bleeder valve on a 1983 Nissan 720 pickup?
It should be down below where the slave cylinder connects to the tranny
you have 16 valves in stead of 8. 2 intake and 2 exhaust. they fire at different times to increase power. it's like haveing a V8 with less space.
wow, way wrong. The plugs on the exhaust side is for emissions. this way it fires on the exhaust stroke to help burn unspent fuel and gases before it goes out your exhaust pipe.
Whats the firing order for 1982 Datsun pickup with 8 spark plugs?
It's 1-3-4-2 firing order, On the distributor it's 1I, 2E, 3I, 1E, 4I, 3E, 2I, 4E i
This is a common ignition problem. Use a DIY test button push start. I would guess that your key ignition is broken like mine. Currently my Z will start with no key and run and drive. I remove the battery cable when parked.
Below it sounds like he has no prior knowledge of the Z cars.
Have you checked the motor isn't seized? Can you turn it over by hand at the pulley?
you may have water in the cyender, remove all spark plugs then turn over engine, you probably have blown head gasket
What is the difference between a 240z 260z and 280z?
The 240Z, 260Z, and 280Z are all part of Nissan's Z car lineup, with each model representing a different generation. The 240Z, introduced in 1970, features a 2.4-liter inline-six engine and is known for its lightweight design and classic styling. The 260Z, launched in 1974, has a larger 2.6-liter engine and includes some design changes and updates to meet emissions regulations. Finally, the 280Z, introduced in 1975, comes with a 2.8-liter engine, improved safety features, and additional weight due to enhanced structural integrity and emissions control systems.
How change front lights in Nissan pick up truck?
my truck (nissan pick up) has not halogen, so i have to change the sealed beam. how to do it?
On my '95, I had to remove the grill to gain access to the sealed beams. Then remove the screws holding the retaining ring. (don't take out the adjusting screws!)
Unplug the old bulb, plug in the new one, making sure it is right side up, and put everything back together.
9tCarefully disconnect the speedo cable under the dash where it come thru the firewall and see if the end that is connected to the back of the speedo is abnormally loose. Mine was and caused a similar problem, I tightened it and problem went away for almost a year but it came loose again so I just replaced the speedo. Just as a side note, if you had any tranny work it could be an incorrect speedometer gear in the transmission if you replaced the trans that is.
What is causing the 1979 Datsun 280zx to lose acceleration in 2nd gear and on?
I would look at several things. I would start by checking for vacuum leaks, such as intake gaskets, injector seals, vacuum hoses, etc. I would then check compression across all cylinders to make sure they are within @ 5-8 psi of each other. More than 10 psi difference could cause the engine to lag. The greater the loss of vacuum or compression, the more exaggerated loss of power gets. I would also check the ignition timing. It dont have to be off much for lack of performance. Good luck!

At the dealers during the 80's we often saw this intermittent problem in the service department. The most common cause was the TPS (throttle position sensor). An easy and accurate way for anybody to verify that it is indeed the TPS is to crank the engine while observing the tachometer needle. If the "tach signal" is present then the tach needle will fluctuate slightly off of zero. This simple test proves that the car's ECM (electronic control module) is receiving the "go-ahead-and-start-the-engine " signal. Unfortunately, this signal is required to keep the engine running as well. If there is no tach signal the ECM cannot recognize that the engine is running so it turns off the ignition and fuel injection. If while the engine is stalled you witness the absence of the cranking tach signal you will need to replace the TPS sensor. Be carefull to follow the replacement procedure exactly because these old sensors are adjustable. Better yet have a reputable shop do it.
What Year did Nissan Buy Out Datsun?
1982 half breed 1983 total Nissan
Answer:
To be most accurate, in 1911, DATSUN was founded. The company was originally named DATSON, but this sounded like 'to lose money' in Japanese, and was renamed Datsun. Part of the history behind this is the D.A.T. lettering. (From Kajiro Den, Rokuro Ayoma, and Meitaro Takuchi. )
In 1926, DAT absorbed the Jitsuyo Jidosha Seizo. (practical automobile company in japanese). They then ceased with car production and started making trucks.
In the 1930s, DAT renamed the company Nissan. At this point, they started to massively expand the plant, and were helping manufacture for the war effort in Manchuria.
World War 2 saw Nissan producing fighter aircraft, military trucks, and the like. At the end of World War 2, American sentiment was very poor against Nissan, so the original Datsun name was revived.
Skip forward a few decades. In 1982 Nissan decided the Datsun brand was diluting its trademark. At this point 'Datsun by Nissan' started to be placed on the vehicles, and later simply 'Nissan'. However, in 2002, the Datsun name was revived again, with a line of minivans and cars.
