Deforestation of rain forest will likely lead to?

when we cut down a tree all the carbondioxide that it sucked in gets released into the air which is definately not a good thing. Also if we continue to destroy trees we won't have enough oxygen. Some of the animals that live in the forest will also die. And you may not believe but every single animal has it's purpose (yes even mosquitoes)

Why are humans destroying habitats?

Humans are ruining animal habitats because they need room to build houses(subdivisions), factories, and any other type of building. As much as this is not right, where else would they build all of these places? other than just livin outide idk. But all I'm sayin is jst dnt b surprised whenanimals are "overpopulating".
Economic necessity.

Greed

Lack of foresight

Why are environmentalists concerned with deforestation?

There are several reasons. Cutting down areas of forest removes wildlife habitats, leaving animals with no shelter and nowhere to find food in the case of some herbivores. This can result in the death of some animals and therefore a loss of biodiversity. Many ingredients in medicines come from plant species in forests. Deforestation removes these plants and so loses key pharmaceutical ingredients. Perhaps even some undiscovered future medicines. Trees and plants use carbon dioxide in photosynthesis to produce oxygen. This is particularly useful in today's industrial world where more and more harmful CO2 is being put into the atmosphere. Forests act as a "carbon sink" removing the harmful CO2 from the atmosphere and giving out oxygen which can be used by other forms of life. Deforestation reduces this, leaving more CO" in the atmosphere which then contributes to global warming.

Why do you cut down trees if they help us?

Because they can still help us even if it is cut down. Wood helps us make many things such as tables, seats, and buildings; especially houses.

Another reason is because trees can increase fires. For example, in Australia when there is a wood-fire, they cut down trees so that the fire does not increase.

What country has the lowest deforestation rate?

Those are some of then:

Suriname, Zambia, Gabon, Guyana, Colombia Peru and others.

Where do the animals go when the trees are cut down?

Since the animal's home (or homes) would be destroyed, they most likely move somewhere else similar to their previous habitat where there are trees present. However, some have the ability to adapt to their new surroundings over time.

Do humans help or harm your forests?

Humans are a very weird species. They harm the environment and now they're asking "are we harming the environment?" Now, don't lie, i know you're a human, so....

Yes, humans DO harm the environment. They harm it in ... millions of ways!!! humans cut down forests, make pollution, and do a bunch of other crap to the environment that i can't list or wiki answers will probably ban me.

So, to make word short, humans hurt the environment more than Adolf Hitler killing Jews-_-

What do people think of deforestation?

Most of the planet is against deforestation. The issue at hand though is that where this is happening is in areas that need more food and space for farming is limited. rain forests sit in very fertile areas which are great for farming.

How will deforestation affect our future and our children's future?

Humans and animals will always be dependent on the forest. If deforestation does not stop, there will be less food and shelter for both people and animals. Since there are lesser trees, the will be a rise in levels of carbon dioxide and a greater risk for global warming.

How many water drops fit on a penny?

The amount of drops I have tried and got to were 300 drops.

From another Answers community member:

There are a lot of factors involved. The cohesion and adhesion ('stickiness') of water molecules can be effected by things like oils (on surface pennies from peoples' skin) and other contaminates on the penny.

The size of the dropper or pipette will determine the size of each water droplet - the larger the drop, the fewer number of drops will fit on the penny.

The manner in which the water is added to the penny is also a factor. Water has a cohesive nature (the molecules are kind of like magnets and are attracted to one another). Therefore, if the drop from the pipette is allowed to touch the water already on the surface of the penny, the water can be 'pulled' out of the dropper. When this happens, the size (volume) of the drop is not always the same - it could be a very small amount (which will result in a very large number of drops), or a large amount.

Ideally, everyone performing the experiment would include the following:

- distilled water

- same type/size of calibrated dropper/pipette

- same date of penny

- penny cleaned as thoroughly as possible using same cleaning procedure

- same 'dropping' procedure

Why does deforestation increase the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere?

deforestation increases the amount of green house gases for 3 main reasons.

1)Trees are cut down and removed therefore they cannot photosynthesis in which carbon dioxide (CO2) is converted to oxygen (O).

2)Trees may be cut down and left they then rot the rotting of the trees lets the CO2 be released and adds to the greenhouse gases.

3)The trees may be burnt which is also releasing CO2 into the atmosphere.

The greenhouse gases are methane, carbon dioxide and a little bit of water vapour.

Deforestation in India?

well the answer to your question is,

22.8% or about 67,701,000 hectares of India is forested.

Deforestation is where trees are cut or burnt down and the space the trees where in are usally filled with houses or the space is left with nothing in it.

In India , deforestation began in the 19 th century with the arrival of British colonialism.

Deforestation in India, together with all its other environmental effects, continues to go downhill.

i hope this helps

How does deforestation harm animals?

It destroys their natural homes and habitat forcing them to relocate, sometimes they try to move into residential areas looking for food or shelter and this can be very dangerous depending on the animal.

Animals help in balancing our ecosystem, food chain and acts as a food for us. Now a days we can see that many animals move to residential areas from their shelter in search of food, and destroy our crops and eat cows and animals.

History of illegal logging in the Philippines?

Since the beginning of the 20th century, the government granted many concessions to log many areas in the Philippines. Since the second- growth rate takes between 30-35 years most did not take the time to replant, and only harvested the valuable trees, and left many burned, fallen over or to rot.

One way to limit deforestation is by?

North America is a great example of this. Total acres of forest and the density of them has increased the past 100 years.

This is mainly done through better forest fire fighting techniques.

Some deforestation is occurring in South America. This is due to the people of the area wanting to become healthier and more productive. If you believe all the numbers that are put out, we burn about 125% of the total acres of forest every ten years.

With North America's forests growing in size, this is hard to understand.

Why does the United states have a high ecological footprint?

There are quite a few factors.

Carbon Dioxide emissions

Nitrous Oxide emissions

Fossil fuel burning

How much people drive in the country

Not having energy efficient appliances

light pollution

The albedo of the country

Those are just a few, .

How is sustainable timber produced?

Sustainable logging means logging an area in such a way as there is always trees to be cut. In other words, logging in a way that leaves young trees, medium age trees and mature trees behind each time you log, so that you can always log that area in the future. The opposit is called "clear cutting" which means you can't go back in that area to log for over thirty years. Re-planting the area can be part of your sustainable logging plan. I have sustainable logging operations on my hundred acres in Maine and except for the skidder trails throughout the woods, you would not notice the loss of trees each year.

What are trees chopped down for?

The amount of trees that are cut down each year, according to a 2012 report was reduced by 60,000 square kilometers per year. It is stated that the amount is between 3 billion to 6 billion trees per year.

Does deforestation affect butterflies?

deforestation affects insects because deforestation is the cutting down on trees and without trees the insects will die without a home. ( the trees)

What is Excessive cutting of trees called?

Forestry, Deforestation, Sustainable forestry, Vandalism, Criminal Waste.

What measures need to be taken to address the issue of overpopulation in Nigeria?

Education on the use of Birth control methods to prevent over population is a start...Education on why it is not morally justified to bring a child into the world and let said child die of starvation by the age 5 just so that the two parents can enjoy a brief moment of carnal pleasure is another start, however such measures would take years or even decades to produce positive results..

.

Nature is of course now taking its own measures to deal with the over population issues such as famine and disease that cause mass die offs of the population....

The population of a country can not exceed the amount of resources that said country is able to provide for its people either by natural means or from importation of resources...

Nigeria's Population growth must be reduced or brought to complete stand still until the country is able to produce enough resources to support the current population..

A government program for the mandatory chemical or surgical sterilization of 40% of its citizens would reduce population growth at a faster pace...
