How do i get my dog to stop barking at nothing. It doesn't have to be an object. we'll just take her outside and she'll start barking at air. What do i do?

sounds like a pretty stupid dog to me. but dont worry. my dog does that too. but here's something you could do: when ever she starts barking, grab her mussel and say "NO!!!!", then take her inside right away. keep doing this until she stops.... if its a small yappy dog, like a yorki, SELL HER. GET HER OUTA THE HOUSE. TO A BETTER HOME. THOSE DOGS SUCK. It may help to have a companion, as dogs are pack hunters. When left alone, dogs stress out, & bark out of frustration.

Do the pills to prevent dogs from eating feces work?

Dogs that do this are usually missing something from their diet. Like certain minerals. If the pills are suppliments I would think they would work. Find out what the pills are made out of before you feed them to you dog.

How close can neighboring fences be?

You will have to check the zoning codes for your community. Most have specifics about fences, when and where they can be built, what they can be made out of and how high they can be. You local community government web site will usually include a copy of their ordinances.
In most cases you can put it on the property line.

How smart are cane corsos?

I know because I own a Cane Corso. They are very, very, very smart. Most Cane Corso are smart and learn quickly. They have to be with a kind, patient owner. They are usually smart in a good way, if they have a good owner.

Cane Corso are common police dogs, because of their agility. That requires a smart dog.

Your mom doesn't want to get a new dog how can you convince her to get you one?

Honestly, if someone doesn't want a dog, they shouldn't get one. It's hard to make that work. Dogs are a lot of responsibility and it's best if everyone in the family wants one. But if you are sure you can take care of one by yourself, without her assistance, show her you are responsible and prepared. Write her a paper about what type of dog you'd like and how it fits your lifestyle. Include the cost of vet, food and supplies. Tell how you would exercise the dog, and what you will do with it on vacations. She needs to see that you are serious.

Is jumping up and snapping a sign of aggression in a puppy?

== == * Yes. Even if you startled the dog most dogs will jump, but do not snap. Some puppies will mouth a person that may appear to be snapping. It's playing, but gently and firmly any puppy should be trained properly. There are good courses to go too to train you and your puppy or there are good CD's out by: Cesar Milan (Dog Whisperer) that is an excellent choice to train your puppy. A puppy is much like any baby of any species (including humans) and are not aware they are being rough so it's up to the owner of the puppy to say 'No!' Then push the puppy away. Some larger bred puppies are more aggressive in play and the owner has to teach them what is playing and what is aggression and when that aggression should be used (protecting you home or family.) If the puppy is still continuing this type of aggression (growling, then snapping) it's highly advisable you take your pup for a thorough check-up by your vet to be sure there are no problems making the pup feel this way (could be in pain.) If there is nothing physically wrong with your pup then you can use two methods to stop this behavior: A light pat on top of the nose with two fingers and the word "shame" or "stop" and when they do praise them or use a clean spray bottle with cold water and when they start to snap give them a sprinkling in the face with the water. It doesn't take long. Along with letting them know who the boss is in the house and lots of love your pup should do just fine.

How hard do you have to train to jump higher?

to jump hard do excercises that build up your calf mussles because those are the muscles that you use to jump and sprint more than any other muscle. try to take a box jump on it, then jump off and on as fast as you can. another thing you can do is jump rope that really builds up muscle. you have to train on a regular basis to jump higher

Is it bad to put children on leashes?

Not if it keeps them safe and not putting them on leashes puts them in danger. For example, some children have a problem with bolting into traffic. To put it bluntly, a child on a leash is better than a dead child.

Are there drug dogs at the airport?

Yes many, airports railway stations, ferry ports and prisons. You never know when or where they will be, and trust me they are good, I know I was involved in the training of narcotic dogs way back in 1963. So be warned. You wont always see them, they could be working in the luggage handling department before your bags get put onto the carousel. The case will be watched then when you pick it up to take it through the Customs clearance, they will already know there are drugs in your case, even before you are asked to open it up, and don't bother rapping it up in 5, 6, or 7 plastic bags, these dogs will find it.

There are some at Iraq but before you go in the airport, they will sniff your car.

How can you train your dog to pay more attention to you while on your daily walks?

Your dog should be on a tight leash and when your dog doesn't listen you pull fairly hard on the leash until the dog is beside you. Stop, hold him in position. Then started walking and sternly say 'heel' and keep him to your left side on a tight leash. Keep pulling the dog by your side whenever he strains on that leash. It just takes a few times and they'll get the message. Be sure to praise your dog when it does the right commands. If you have a rather large dog and it's more than 2 - 3 years old then a training group (you can phone your vet or Pet Store to see which ones are available) would be a good thing to go too. Sometimes some dogs will listen to the trainer before the owner. The little darlings. LOL

How much do you need to earn to get earn income?

The earned income credit is really too complicated to explain in detail here. You should go to the IRS website, download the instructions, and go through the worksheets.

Basically, if you graphed it, it would look like a small hill: the unearned income credit increases based on how much income you earn up to a certain point, after which it starts decreasing again.

What is flooding in dog training?

The concept behind flooding is simple - force the dog to encounter a stimulus that would generally elicit a flight or fight response, but prevent the dog from using those two coping mechanisms to deal with the stress. The hope is that when the dog experiences that nothing scary happens from the encounter - they will learn that the flight or fight response isn't necessary and will therefore put them on the path of a more normal behavior for that situation.

Does flooding stress the dog out? Yes.

Does flooding work? It depends if our expectations are reasonable for the individual dog.

Are there better ways to do things? Usually, but sometimes it does have its uses.

Should you walk your dog before they eat or after?

you should walk your dog after they eat, so once they eat they can go for a walk and let it all out... dogs often like to go for a walk after they eat because they are full and they could exercise all the food out...

My dog growls when he is sleeping or getting ready to sleep and anyone touches him Is here any reason or this behavior and what actions should take to discontinue it?

if you have bought a dog when it is not a puppy but a few years old, it probably had a bad experience. Maybe one night, instead of putting him to bed, ask him if he wants to for a walk, play with him, and give him lots of treats and cuddles, make night times fun for him.

Does he sleep outside or inside? maybe these things should be considered. Lack of respect can be brought on if the dog is sleeping in or near your bed. They think that this is his territory. Consider letting him sleep in the laundry or bathroom, or if he doesn't bark, outside then that would be even better.

Maybe he just is tired and wants to be left alone for a while. Change his life around and make him as happy as a dog could get. I realise this is easier said then done:)

Good luck and I hope I was a help!:)

How can you stop your dog from running around your house and barking like crazy?

Take your dog on 30 min walks two times a day, dogs need exercise, without it, they need to get rid of excess energy and need to adventure outside. If you walk your dog, it will slowly become more calm.
