A power supply uses a filter to change pulsating DC from the rectifier into smooth DC for the circuits that the power supply powers.

No one knows the answer to this question. Batteries can be bought online from foreign suppliers and shipped to America, people buy them from mega-marts and mom-and-pop shops continuously through the year. There is simply no way to track total overall sales of batteries. A good guess would be billions per year but again, no one could possibly know.

Hi , i have just recently repaired my 18v charger, the fuse inside had blown so i removed it and replaced it with a new one , but did not solder it next to the other i re-soldered new hard wire to the fuse and carefully soldered back into place . I know by doing this i render all warranties that i had. The reason that mine blew in the first place was i had been rubbing a copper pipe with wire wool and bits were going everywhere, and got into the charger, when i tipped the charged onto its side i went bang.( Wire wool must have got inside)

The charger is not impervious to dust and bits of wire wool so keep your charger in a clean environment away from where you are working.

Anyway my charger is OK now.

Please note that i have been electrically trained and i knew what i was doing .I do not condone anyone to make such repairs themselves unless they are competent in their abilities to repair such items.

There are many different definitions for IPS, but I am going to go with In-Plane Switching, a technology used in newer LCD screens to give a wider viewing angle and better coloring.

In an LCD monitor, there is a backlight which emits the actual light, covered by a thin film of crystals (hence the name, Liquid Crystal Display) that filters out colors of light to change the backlight's color at certain pixels.
