Have water in trunk of 2000 eldorado?

Most of the water comes in from pinhole breaks around the weatherstripping and in the sheetmetal or from the wheel wells.

Here's a cost effect solution. Remove the spare tire (check and grease your bolts and hold downs for the tire because the moisture can do a job on those nuts and bolts). Better to find out the hold downs are rusted close now than when you need to change your flat.

There should be a metal drain plug on the bottom, towards the passenger compartment. Carefully remove that plug by prying up on the center band and prying around the sides. Drill several 1/4"holes in the plug, put some gasket seal around the edge and put it back in. Now the water will drain through that. Yes you'll still have water coming in but it will quickly find it's way to the bottom and out it goes.

The alternative is to sit in the trunk with a flashlight while someone sprays the car. Locate the areas where it might be leaking around the top and caulk them with a heavy duty silicone caulk. Problem is there are so many places that water could be entering the trunk, it's a crapshoot. I've had several Cadillac's and I was amazed at the number of gaps and body holes (not rust or damage) that existed around the wheel wells and around the frame. This little trick solved all my problems.

Note: Don't be drilling any holes in the trunk from above. Your gas tank sits nice and snug against it. If there is no plug on your model, drill from below.
