What is England's favourite animal?

I doubt any of Britain's animals are unique. Some of our animals are vagrants, eg seals and walruses. Remember not so long ago (maybe less than 10,000 years ago) Britain was under an extremely thick ice sheet. There would have been no mammals in those conditions. Any mammals we have now walked over from Europe (the Channel did not exist at that time) and colonised Britain after the ice retreated.

What area of England has the most thunderstorms?

...I believe that the area that suffers the highest number of thunderstorms is on the norfolk / suffolk border (the Lakenheath / Thetford Forest area). This is because the area experiences a continental style climate with warm (occasionally hot) summers. Therefore it suffers home grown storms but also those imported from the near continent as its geographical location means that anything moving north / northeastwards out of France tends to hit this area of England. I would estimate that the area experiences around 20 days of lightning activity per year - please correct me if I'm wrong....
