Fables and Folklore

While this is more of an opinion I would say that folklore can be a very helpful insight in the understanding of certain cultures and peoples. So while it doesn't necessarily have to be a subject in itself you could use folklore as an aid in social studies.

No, as the Harry Potter series is fiction, Hogwarts is also fiction. However, it has not been confirmed by scientists if magic is real or not. Some believe magic is real, while others believe magic is a myth.

Sometimes the term thrall (Scandinavian for slave) is used but this is more properly reserved for those who are under some sort of compulsion or mind control. Wilhelmina Harker was Count Dracula's thrall after she was forced to drink of his blood.

Faust is a German folk tale. It isn't a myth because it was never accepted as a religious or ideological truth. The story was always accepted as fictitious and it contains a specific moral.

Shape-shifters can eat practically anything, depending who or what form they are in. Just like sharks can eat meat, earthworms eats dirt, and humans eat plants and animals, they can eat whatever their form can eat.

This is a odd question, as their is no link between umbrellas and snakes. As far as I know, opening an umbrella in your house has no effect of snake migration.
